Thank you so much. I designed this in the 1990's. It took a few years to figure out how to make it. I am making a new version with a updated picture on the front. And the boxes move on their own.
Maybe incorporate a costume change as well
R u running the water full blast? I just got mine and some how it kept pushing the gold off from the first 3 little trap, and then my last few traps is filled with heavy black sand and most gold get pushed down to my bucket, how fast water should I run?
I don't know where you thought it should run full blast? Watch the video. It is adjusted to leave the gold and black sands behind. Your doing something wrong
I shot this at Circus Circus in the 90's. I built all these illusions. Vince later moved to Florida, where he developed Alzheimer's. He passed away a few years ago. His daughter was performing the last time I checked.
You can tell this is from way back, because of the over dressed and over elaborate mechanism she wears, but their performance pulls it off quite well.
But how does it setting in a recirculating system always being stirred up?
Good question, it's the top water and the water as it goes thru sluice that is clearer.. because water is moving and stirring you'll have some cloudy but not so cloudy that you can't see.
If we are dealing with microscopic gold (Flea Poop Gold not Flour Gold) the Gold will flocculate with the clay my question is how to then separate the Gold Clay particles?

They have been $99 for years. They cost materials and time to produce. Even though our cost went up, we absorbed the extra cost.

I cannot lie, this sluice is awesome. Tried the rubber mat routine but they just clog with black sand. The cycling tech of each pocket retains heavies increasingly downhill, stripping away lights. Best to classify and adjust flow for each size material. And IT DOES catch fine Alabama flour. Also recommend the Geosluice highbanker for the twice a year hobbyist 😎.

wow, using a scoop to feed this would slow you down. you need a 2nd person to keep the buckets full. a rich strike would yield much gold with that beastie.

We tried to show it but I will explain. There are 2 small black wires that come off the black control box. They go into the lower area below where you mount the control box. If you look at the video at the 14:00 area you will see I explain the small black wires that come on the control box from the factory connect to the 2 thin small blue wires from the heater. That is really simple to understand. I hope that helps. Just use small wire connectors that will work for that size of wire and crimp the blue and black small thin wires together. There is no positive or negative wire. Either wire can hook to either wire with no problem. Good luck.
It looks like a cool piece of kit. Though there is a lot to a sluice that is not touched on here. It would be useful to have a demonstration of a gold:black sand mix, especially of different classifications. My concern would be whether fine gold can make its way to the bottom of the riffle where it is most protected before clearing the black sand. Otherwise wouldn’t the turbidity used to expel the black sand also take small gold. It also would have been great if the remaining riffles were cleared to show that gold hasn’t made its way down. Thanks for the invention!
This has been ran in multiple videos showing that it captures at least 200 mesh gold. I can personally say I catch that ultra fine gold that you can barely see. I use an led light above to do that. Drop riffles work just like a river catches gold in cracks. There is no lift involved like other mats and sluice methods. The water is ran slow enough that it drops because of golds weight. Your over thinking it.

What angle do you recommend this run at?
It really depends on your water flow. I have ran it level and at an angle. Go to www.geosluicemining.com and go watch the video for that product. The angle on the front end gives better water flow. You just need to make sure the black sands and gold stay in the riffles and the rest flows out the end.

Interesting, would have never thought to turn a simple drop riffle sluice into an underflow sluice with something as simple as a spoon. How well do you think that would work with ultra fine gold e.g. -50 mesh? Nifty machine regardless.
