Frank Caverly
This video may not be for everyone. It's a special project dedicated to family and friends. I wanted to extend an invitation to everyone to view the slideshow of the making of a burial vault in honor of Frank Caverly. Decades of effort this man invested in me has helped me to reach where I am today. This is my way of giving back, a gesture to reflect the time and effort he invested in me.

alewives
Переглядів 24710 місяців тому
As we prepare for the upcoming lobster season we take advantage of the 25 alewife apiece that we are allowed to go out and dip for. We then brought them back to the house and salted some for keeping and the others we put directly into bait bag and the in to the deep freezer. I still don't know what type fishes best but the frozen bait bags are done and convenient.

The maiden voyage
Переглядів 83Рік тому
This is a restore of my great grand parents 1951 Alumacraft F model. They bought it new that year and has been around the family. This year we cleaned her up, gave it a new transom a proper name as well as a new 25 hp Yamaha outboard. We also fixed up an old trailer that had been used past the point of usable. This maiden voyage was out on lake George.
The boys new toy!

This little project came about from the boys hating to cut up small wood. They were telling me for years they need a wood processor. I sat down one night with a napkin and started to draw. A few attempts and a trip to the scrap iron pile and the help of one of my students, "thanks Ryan" this was born.

      @@SalooanMatti it’s nothing like maple syrup, still nice and sweet a little bit towards molasses not that close. Personally, I would not use it on pancakes as a sweetener, but it is phenomenal on fish, carrots, and other foods like that.

    Try not to bring your syrup above 185 degrees after filtering because you will only make more nitre causing cloudy syrup. 185 degrees is lots to bottle If you preheat your glass in the oven! Great video overall!

    Genius stump vise ! Pickaroon , peavy, and pulphook indispensible. Measuring firewood, just a marked line on your saw. I don't want any metal sticking out while cutting. Try PFERD's CS-X 2in1 sharpener. NOW ! get you some PPE. The femoral artery cut will bleed you out in minutes. Helmet SYSTEM, if only for those %$#@# branches coming down. And, since we usually cut solo, if you're not a vet, get some basic emergency training ( sometimes called Wilderness Medicine). May save your ass. JMNSHO

    Put a set of ring chains on the front and your ice on the rear and you’ll have more traction and less sliding back when winching. Had a 664B and she would really perform fully chained up.

    • @bobbelanger6426

      Ring chains on the front gives you greater traction. Those Clark winches have a 60k pulling power. I ran this tire chain set up year round. Even backing up your steering will be spot on, no sliding or backing up against a tree to winch. That hitch you pulled out through the frozen mud area of your trail….should be able to walk on out.

    Drove the 664, 666, and 668, back in NZ in my youth. oh what fun it was, skirting round those mountain roads, with up to 8 decent logs behind you. Biggest trick was to get round tight mountain corners, without the logs hauling you over the side. 🤔🙃

    I like this vacuum setup I am expanding this year and looking to make a couple of gallons of syrup. filtering is a bit of a bottleneck do you have a materials list or a build video for your filter setup I am trying to build one myself without breaking the bank.

    • @mr.mckenney2549
      @mr.mckenney2549 Рік тому

      Hello, I don't have any video content regarding the creation of this system. The materials were salvaged from my local dump and fabricated with my high school students. The two kettles are approximately one foot in height. The double boiler was created by cutting the bottom of a stainless steel frying pan and welding it to a spaghetti strainer. The valve is a 1/2 inch 316 ball valve. The thermometer is 1/2 inch NPT threaded into the other half of the stainless steel coupling that I used for the draw-off. The vacuum is just an ordinary one, intended to remove ashes from a pellet stove. The attachment point was a 1 1/2-inch stainless steel hose barb. I use one main filter and two prefilters that were purchased from a maple supplier designed for their system.

Also you can find things somewhat comparable on Amazon, not the same quality. I hope this helps if I can do anything else please let me know.

    • @kevinmckenney3712
      @kevinmckenney3712 Рік тому

      The bottom double boiler was actually a stainless steel frying pan that I cut the bottom out of and a pasta strainer I cut the top off rough and welded them together. The rest of the stuff actually came out of the dump in the town I live in!

    • @kevinmckenney3712

    I suggest 2, 3, or even 4 holes on the top of the can, the pot stand to stop the fuel from spilling out. The holes on the pot stand reduces pressure sealing too tight from the pot.
