How do I reduce latency? When I save a file to the host computer remotely, it takes quite a bit of time for it to complete saving.
How good is the connection between your remote network to your host? It will only be as good as the connection you have
Subscribed! This is awesome !
Honestly this is what I wanted to do for my setup for so long and now I have a list and target to shoot for. Only thing I need to look into now is getting a script / service for monitoring and or managing other devices on my network and Ill be set. Thanks so much for this and all your guides.
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the amazing video! It helped me a lot!
How you did the ssl?
Using the Let’s encrypt feature within Nginx Proxy Manager
I have been trying to set up Wireguard on my Linux server. I followed all the steps on this video but I was not able to connect any devices to the Wireguard. The router that I have (TP Link Archer A7) has Port triggering under the NAT forwarding which I set up a triggering port for Wireguard (51280), not sure if the difference between port triggering/forwarding would make a difference. I have so far followed every direction in the video, but can never get a VPN connection from my hotspot. I even tried setting up an OpenVPN that is already in the router but it still won't connect. I have also tried many tutorials that I have found online but to no avail. I know for sure that I am setting up the VPN service correctly for the most part. I am not entirely sure if this is a problem due to a router that I have used for 5 years or it has to do something with my ISP or somehow my firewall is not set up properly. Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Feel free to join the discord. It's known that some ISP block VPN access
You have tutorials on how to setup the rest of it pihole nignx proxy manager
All the relevant videos are in the description
Great video. I'm trying to learn how to self host.
Great video. this is just what i was looking for!
What's that draw program called?
Excalidraw :)
Well, seafile docker is very well documented on their website and anyone can follow through it fairly easy. The https setup is the challenging one, because it is not straight forward especially when you want to use it along with seadoc.
Mate, just wanted to thank you. I've been attempting to get Vaultwarden sorted on my home server via docker for the last day and every tutorial I've seen about how to get ssl working has been an absolute nightmare of failure. Your tutorial was quick and to the point and was very helpful re: Cloudflare as an option for accessing the service via https.
Not working for me...
If anyone is here from Fedora, note that you must enable the iptables_nat module before running the docker container, or you will be unable to connect to the web interface or do anything.
Instantly subscribed, will be looking for that video on how to set up the local domains and that authentik environment looks so good! Keep up the good stuff looking forward to more videos
It is using ELK stack underneath (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana).
Hello, can you make a video related to OpenProject? Thank you!
Did you have some kind of green-screen effect enabled when producing this video? Your LED lights on Synology and switch look trippy 😃
Yeah! My greenscreen filter was not on but it was still changing the green on the lights. I noticed that during editing
for me the "docker exec -it..." command required to create an admin user is not working. is there a different way to get around that?
What happens when you run that command?
@@Techdox never mind repeated the entire process and it worked. Keep up the great content!
And... Where is the swarm setup? How to make 5 step guide is great, but mount local glusterfs, docker plug-in for this fs and other stuff is necessary. It is "zero level" tutorial 😢
Yeah, I'll be honest I was planning on creating more videos on swarm and making a series but it's run away from me a bit. This was to be part of a bigger implementation guide.
i personnaly never succeeded installing authentik or any alternative 🥲
Hello man, I got the error: Get "127.0.0.1:9116/snmp?module=mikrotik&target=192.168.30.1": dial tcp 127.0.0.1:9116: connect: connection refused I add prometheus from my mikrotik to grafana. How to fix that? Please help, thank you
Woah, it's a pretty heavy and demanding install. 8 vCPU along with 8GB RAM for the "quickstart" install. That's going to omit it from a lot of shared VM systems for a lot of people and benefit from bare metal install. Could be good for larger server environments, but doesn't seem like it's particularly applicable to homelab self-hosters, especially since most of the self-hosted services may not be exposed to the wan.
Yeah, I said the same thing. I have it running with half of that and seems fine :)
I like the setup.. Just started to build my homelab… so far I have a hp z440 running Proxmox- installed a few vms for testing.. I also have a NAS and raspberry pi that I need to start integrating into my home lab… Video is very motivating. Thank for this.. new subscriber here 👍🏾
Awesome, sounds like you already have a great setup!
Ever tempted to migrate from NPM to Caddy or Traefik?
I have tried them but I just like the simplicity of NPM :)
This is exactly why i follow this channel. My setup looks the exact same
Sounds like a pretty awesome setup then! :)
@@Techdox ohhhhh it's great .. a mixture of flashing lights and wires . Working on traefik today, trying to get authentik to work with it... I'm really not the smartest at this stuff . Every days a learning day 😁
We have similar setup for homelab... HP ProDesk 10th gen with 32GB on my Proxmox server and 4 bay NAS for storage. Another HP ProDesk 8th Gen with 32GB for my BareMetal PLEX Server with another 4-bay NAS for my storage.
Awesome! That’s a great sounding setup
@@Techdox We both do hahahha... Just like you, my reasoning is the same. I don't need to run hardware that is way overkill just to say that we use enterprise hardware. And oh.. the electric is expensive here down under :) Been following your posts by the way.. great stuff! I used your tute on Pingvin-Share
what's your take on XCP-NG. Will you be using it anytime in future?
Definitely worth looking into, I have never installed it before so I’ll definitely look into it
So you run your website and other domains out of Elitedesk???
That’s right :)
Hello. I was having issues when running the "docker-compose up -d" command. I was getting an "Error while fetching server API version..." 'chunked' error. Turns out that I had docker-compose installed (old version). After removing it and installing docker-compose-v2, the "docker compose up -d" command worked. This explains why your video example works without a hyphen. Maybe your guide should be updated to recommend the v2 compose version and update the command?
Ah yeah! Docker compose is the correct way and that’s what I showed but you are correct the docs show the old version. I’ll get that changed
Fixed :)
Looks great! Are you planning to set up a proxmox cluster or nah?
Maybe, get another Elitedesk or something. I haven't really hit a limit yet, could be good for failover etc. Would be a fun new project
Cable management, who? 😅
wait to see my homelab 🥲
Great video, thanks! But do I really need to enter each service/server on Pi Hole one by one?
I can’t really see how else it would know what where to send the traffic. You need to tell it this name goes to this IP in some shape or form
@@Techdox I found out that you can do it via CLI, creating a file on /etc/dnsmasq.d/, there you can use a wildcard for the domain, this way it works for all addresses from that domain. Example: adress=/*.DOMAIN/NGINX_IP then run pihole restartdns
Hi, could you kindly share repo?, I wanted to understand the folder structure.
Their repo? Sure - github.com/traefik/traefik
Good luck fixing that apparmor vulnerability in Ubuntu. I think that remains unresolved even in 22.04
Wild right? I was wondering why that wasn’t going away
Hi ! I'm Corentin, the creator of it-tools, thank you very much for sharing my project, it means a lot <3
Well, thank you for making an awesome tool. Comes in handy a lot
Pairing with new Zotax RTX 3050 LP (Low Profile) is super good budget gaming A few days ago , I just purchased the same PC with an i7 8700 and 16GB of RAM for approximately $135, and a new Zotac RTX 3050 LP for around $150.
Everything works for me, but the qbittorrent does not download any torrents at all. All downloads are getting stalled, and even if I force download, nothing happens :( Anyways, thanks for the step-by-step guide to install, very clear! :)
Yeah, depends if you are using Radarr and Sonarr as they tend to grab the worst torrents. Do you get it with something like a manual download for a Ubuntu image let's say?
Thanks for the video! It works and adds an extra layer of protection. However, it can be challenging for applications with mobile and desktop apps. For example, my self-hosted password manager couldn't sync or save new credentials. There might be additional settings needed, but I couldn't figure them out yet, so I had to remove the application protection. I'm hoping to find a way to make it work without breaking the desktop/mobile app features.
I had the exact same issue with Nextcloud. Providing you have a static IP or you will need to adjust it when it changed. You can add a bypass rule to your Application Policy in Cloudflare, for your Public IP, so anything coming in via that IP bypasses the rules and this will allow your apps to reach the service
@@Techdox Thank you! The bypass rule is working flawlessly! Hopefully, they update the rules to add support for DDNS for users with dynamic IP addresses. Also, is there a way for users with a shared link to bypass the rules and retrieve a file from the application?
Hello, can you make a video related to Elastic Stack + Docker Compose and Penpot. Thank you!
thank you for this tutorial! I got this up and running on my rpi4 i have attached a HDD via USB, it is showing up in the disk section of storage but how do i mount it? please help!

How to remotely control a Windows 10 computer? using this program.
So to accomplish that particular task you have to own a domain, right? What if I don't have any? How to add ssl cert to each of my containers then?
To get let's encrypt SSL certificates, yeah you need to own a domain name
thank you , I was just wondering myself if this was possible
