I'm gonna send a feedback email, but I also wanna post my comment here. Whoever the comment checker is, if you're also the person who reads the feedback emails, you can just skip this one. First of all, thank you guys for such in depth coverage. I like watching review videos on UA-cam was pleasantly surprised to come across your content. I am absolutely loving this X-Men reboot. I wasn't a huge comic book collector; however, I WAS a huge fan of the tv show. My dad and I used to watch it together every Saturday morning. There are a few things I wanna comment and maybe even get feedback from you guys on. 1) Somehow, I did kinda see the Shiar coming and making their way into the show. I had always assumed there was a connection between the rotating opening credit scenes and what actually takes place in the show (be it that the particular scene be referred to or expanded upon). Prof X was teased, so I figured we were gonna get him and find out what he and his new peeps were up to...granted I didn't expect to get him back so soon. 2) I actually really wanted to say that I didn't think that the pacing was a problem. That was probably the main point I had decided I wanted to get across when I started writing this. Then I thought about it.. and like... So... for a little backstory.. Before watching even the first episode, I went back and re-watched all of the original episodes. (It turns out that I had never seen or even heard of Season 5 btw). When I think about the speed of the original show and the speed at which this one is moving... Yea... I see you guys' point. The whole Madelyn Prior/Cable send off arch could've been given another two episodes, at least. We could've gotten an explanation as to why Bishop was here in the first place. In fact, they could've given us that instead of the Jubilee videogame episode. The Storm-Forge relationship feels awkward, at best. Granted, Storm did fall in love equally fast in the original series. She's proven herself to be a sucker for love... but honestly I felt more invested in the Storm-Wolverine relationship from season 4. If the decision were up to me, I would've expanded those first 3 episodes to 5 episodes. Jubilee may or may not have gotten to keep her episode... She definitely deserves one... I just don't think she's interesting enough a character to have a WHOLE episode to herself. 3) Speaking of Madelyn Prior (and you guys may have covered in a previous podcast I haven't seen yet.. rest assured I will be watching the other videos but..) when do you think Jean was switched with MP? Do you think MP ever actually wielded the Phoenix? Was MP and the Phoenix ever a thing in the comics? 4) I definitely think that the visuals around Forge using his shaman magic being reminiscent of Dr. Strange in the MCU universe is intentional. I think, maybe with the exception of the Scarlet Witch, whose magic usage is an extension of her mutant powers, any 'magic' used here on out will be depicted this way just in case there is a MCU crossover. 4) Storm has always been one of my favorite X-Men. However, with the awkwardness of the love story between her and Forge, and the lack of stakes.... that whole arch kinda felt like a waste. We could've done without it. Like... it wasn't a net positive. Storm just regained her powers. It wasn't a power up, was it? Granted, going from the mohawk (my least favorite Storm look) to the new one she gets at the end of episode 6 (my very favorite Storm look) is a plus. But, as far as the actual story goes, did we get anything out of that arch? 5) I didn't think the episode was super 'talky'. I mean.... there was a lot of dialogue, but I felt it was necessary. I actually really really liked Prof X rubbing shoulders with Shiar royalty. I don't know if this is a good metaphor, but it was kinda like finding out that someone you went to school with turns out to be some big shot just really came up in the world. It was like.. "Oh s**t! Look at my boy Chuck becoming Shiar emperor." Idk... I was not only glad to see him alive, but I felt really proud to see him doing so well. I do hope he comes back to Earth and helps work all this out, but I do hope that his relationship with Lilandra doesn't suffer as a result. And...I don't know if this answers some of the questions or concerns you guys had but... so in season 5, the last few episodes of the season, Prof. Xavier is able to communicate with Lilandra despite her being in a different galaxy. Magneto does have to give him a power boost to do it, but I think it's stated that the two share a connection. So, like... on a good day Chuck and Lilandra can mentally facetime any time they want (I'm guessing). If that's the case, it's not a stretch to assume he would still share a psychic link with his X-Men despite being so far away. 6) *Correction* The Dark Phoenix does devour a star but luckily that particular solar system was uninhabited. There were no casualties (at least not in the tv series, I don't know about in the comics). Speaking of the Phoenix (who I'm sure we'll be seeing in some capacity or another), in the tv series she's tied heavily to the M'kraan (pronounced Em Kron in the cartoon) Crystal. Sorry for this being so long. Again, love the in depth dives.

So, Omega level is used in Marvel comics to refer to mutants with no limits on their abilities vs one-time, last stand, use that kills the mutant. For Gambit to be Omega level he'd have to be able to do this multiple times over. Also, the show has sentinels say "Omega level threat" anout Storm and Magneto because neither has upper limits to their powers where Gambit has a limit on the regular use of his powers.

Yes, Magneto could, somewhat, easily have protected himself from the Tri-Sentinel's blast. We saw earlier when his force bubble was knocked into Xavier's statue that Magneto was protected. The catch is that Magneto was stretching himself to protect Leech and the other Morlocks as well as Rogue and Gambit. He was trying to maintain protect not just several people but people spread out in two separate groups. It's one thing to carry a hundred pound bag but far more difficult to carry two separate 50 pound bags, one in each hand.

That was brutal that no one stood up for mom Jean. Then again, maybe it reflects just how they are used to mindgames they've been through over the years. I agree, crunching down the whole Madeline Pryor "Inferno" arc into 30 minutes is ... a lot. But then again, X-Men have a TON of stories to draw from so to get to them they are going to have to do a ton of abbreviation. Although I'm surprised they didn't do the Dark Phoenix storyline before the Goblin Queen--unless they did Dark Phoenix back in the 90s. Jupiter's Legacy had the single best superhero costumes I have ever seen. They used a brand new method of making them, which is more in line with making a running shoe. They called it seamless fabrics.... And they did an amazing job with screen printing and merging the armor and the classic spandex look. Utopian's costume is pure perfection.

I absolutely loved the show!!!! It was so good and I was so upset that we didn't get anymore....
