What was your build for the MC and Yoshitsune?
If I recall correctly, I was around level 40 (which was WAY too low to fight the Reaper). I had the Blade of Tosugawa, MC's best weapon, and the Surcoat armor. I forgot the accessory I had. Yoshitsune had all stats maxed out, skills were: Hassuo Tobi Charge Apt Pupil Aborb Wind, Elec, Fire, and Ice Repel Dark I also had a Helel with Auto-Maraku, Auto-Mataru, and Auto-Masuku.

Yeah, it's not a lot. You're supposed to only defeat him at level 80 and higher, but it would have been nice to get a ton of exp from it, like in Persona 5 and Persona 3.
Well the reaper in p4g is more of a "get godly items" instead of tons of exp and money, I prefer it like that honestly

I thought fighting a shadow when the reaper spawns would despawn him. So I was evading them as best as I could until I got to the reaper's chest.

No, you don’t. The Reaper can be fought in your first playthrough of Golden
@@Just_DraXon because the door is locked, when save your friends first. Then go on the side quests.
@@Jeffgamer916. The only requirement you need to fight the reaper is to have beaten Chie's Shadow. After that, you just need to open 21 normal chests.. After that, the next normal chest you open would spawn the reaper.

How did you get Hassou Tobi despite being so low leveled
I'm playing on New Game+. The compedium transfers over, and you can buy any Persona you want, regardless of your level.
you also might get it if you're lucky with a fusion accident, lmao. I saw a reddit post with one guy having Yoshitsune from fusion accident and another getting satan, I think both were under-levelled for them.
