I started using my vintage Deckel SO grinder for making threading tools, it took few tries, of course before finding this video. To make a long story short, I learned quite a few details by myself, and some things I do a little differently.

Brings back memories, we had the master clock in our laboratory in our oil refinery on the west coast of WA. Invar pendulum. It drove the clocks in all our buildings. Had the unenvioubel monthly job correcting the time of the slave clocks😮 D

The problem with buying these is that there are models that differ by just a small amount, and there’s really no way to tell until you receive it. The other is that there are U2 and U3 models, but it can be difficult to tell what makes one or the other. Then there is the choice between collets. Deckel style, R-8 and 5C, Deckel being the smallest and 5C the largest. You really have to do some research before buying one of these things.

Hey I've got a 95 Celica and when I did the odb test it gave me flashes from check engine and o/d off at the same time It was 1 2 2 for check engine And 3 6 for o/d off Idk which to listen to haha I found a message board saying it's the former not the latter but idk

Have you considered making a Hob and cutting the whole gear at once instead of indexing...you have the rotary indexing head geared to the table already, yes?

Hi Mark. These are great machines - I have had a 1950's vintage Diemaster for about 4 years now and found it a pleasure to work with. They are very accurate and repeatable. I use mine for model engineering projects and have recently fitted power feed to the x & z axes. I had some steam engine cylinders to bore so power on the z was essential to maintain an even cut.
