A self propelled floating FEMA building is where any sense of reality or common sense totally left the arena. Anyone who is stimulated by this movie has my sincerest sympathy. Your mental capacity is seriously compromised. I watched this out of boredom, but the floating building was the last straw.

I wouldn't have a city of tall buildings a one story big enough all that's junk coming down on us .😮. The earthquake bad enough too be killed by a building 🏢🏢 🏢🏫 a nother story they both or bad and scary .😮😮😮 This was a good movie. 🍿 🍿 🍿 🎥.😊

But it has the worst title ever! Do you realize a 20.0 earthquake is one TRILLION times stronger than an 8.0? That would be enough to rip the earth into a million little pieces, let alone destroy every single grain of sand on its surface.

I love it

The Richter scale is a logarithmic scale. Having taken a lot of geology classes, I realized how preposterous a "theoretical" 20.0 earthquake was, or thought I did. I know such an earthquake, if at all possible, would have to be caused by an asteroid. So I asked AI. "Assume that an asteroid is moving 50,000 mph and perpendicular to the surface of Earth. How large would it be to release the same energy as would be present in a theoretical 20.0 earthquake?" The answer? Diameter = 57,700 km!!! That's right, several times larger than Earth itself. The Earth would have to be swatted like a fly by a massive flyswatter. Splattered. What I was envisioning would only have been a 19. Either way, there would be no more Earth. There should be a law about making a movie about a topic you know absolutely nothing about when there are classes in it in every community college. California falling into the ocean is nonsense in so many ways it is hard to even list. In a sense it is already "in the ocean" as everything to the west of the San Andreas is on the Pacific Plate, and moving north. It, including Baja will be islands off, Oregon and Washington, then Canada then crash into Alaska. But this is all in very slow motion. Maybe we will see less of this crap, now that there is AI? Will writers care to ask AI if California can fall into the ocean? Probably not. But if you people out there are taking notes on how to write a disaster movie script. Step #1. Ask A.I. about it. Making fracking the villein is also applying the same level of genius that came up with the 20.0 earthquake. Fracking is going to make geothermal so we don't have to burn coal. And any earthquake, released early, is smaller than it otherwise would be. It takes time to build up energy. But releasing it days or hours early? That will make a microscopic difference. Not the width of a hair different. Drilling to release pressure? Yeah, right. My favorite rock I collected is a piece of a fault. It has been scrapped by other rocks on the other side of the fault, likely many hundreds of feet of movement, or even thousands. 10 maybe 30 feet every couple hundred years for millennia. Most of a fault is just stone ground to a fine powder. Most actual rock on rock movement is usually pretty deep. If you start drilling into a fault, it will just be fine dirt for a long ways. And drilling takes time, no mater how easy. Claims of getting a bunch of drilling rigs in place, not to mention drilling in a few hours...not happening. And who is going to let you bulldoze their house so you can drill in their backyard? And the NIMBY neighbors would stop you so fast with injunctions, the drill would never get a chance to touch the soil. Heck, those drilling teams would all be in jail almost immediately.
