I would suggest putting this tech on a hypersonic train with small nuclear reactors ( SMR ) to test the theory first to get it to work. Hydrogen is being promoted & invested in by not only JCB but many other large industrial or mining companies. For example Fortescue the huge Australian mining company announced today the opening of a 2GW electrolyser stack business in Queensland. Additionally its subsidiary Fortescue Future Industries is doing deals all over the planet promoting hydrogen.

Hydrogen seems like good alternative to EVs in the transportation of the future.

The main problem for all alternative fuels is infrastructure. Unless the government gets behind a fuel and builds the infrastructure to support it, it doesn't matter how great the technology is. Right now, the only alternative is electricity, simply because it is already built and being upgraded for future needs.

Hydrogen is extremely difficult to prevent from leaking and is extremely flammable/explosive and needs to be under enormous pressure to have reasonable range. Can u imagine the average digger driver having a cigarette while filling up ???. The efficiencies loses are horrendous from generation of hydrogen to compression of the gas then the ICE losses. For all their problems batteries are at least feasible.

Who would buy a hydrogen truck with limited fueling distribution, and who would build a hydrogen distribution network with limited trucks out on the market? Such giant "green" schemes fail to realize that the energy production and distribution system that we presently have was developed gradually, over decades. Investment was done relatively slowly in stages. Suddenly attempting to replace over 100 years of development in just a few years is not realistic. Perhaps the hydrogen vehicle will be useful for short range use where vehicles will always be close to a fuel source. But it will be useless for long range use. I won't be scrapping my diesel truck anytime soon, and replacing it with a hydrogen truck. Also wonder how safe hydrogen vehicles will be in severe collisions. Are these things bombs?

yes,hydrogen combustion engine,,on my own opinion,,,is better than BEV,,,because it can be driven to any place and to any weather and it does not need more expensive rare metals,,,this is the best substitute to diesel or gasoline engine,,,,who cares if somebody close the straight of hormuz if hydrogen combustion engine is available anywhere,,,,and no need to buy new vehicle,,,,just change the engine and add hydrogen gas fuel tank,,,

Same engines they're building now and the last 2-3 decades. You only need to change the fueling, which we already do. West coast has hydrogen fueling starions, common with CNG. So you can run propane, natural gas or hydrogen. Don't believe me ? Look up Air Liquide cryogenic manufacturer, cheers.

Why use a hydrogen engine at 40% efficiency when you could use a fuel cell at 90% efficiency?

I was always told never to throw away old shoes before having new ones. So a ban on diesel engines is definitely one step too far but closer to reality it is 3 stepts too far and even maybe more than that. 1: The arguments to ban the diesel engine are exagerated. The only argument is the poluting emissions and then I do not count CO2 as a polutant as there is only 0.035 % CO2 in air whereas plants need CO2 for their growth. And let us face erality: there is no greenhouse effect ..... As many of us know: CO2 is a hoax invented by the elite who have other plans with humanity. 2: The emission problems are not that serious to have a full ban on diesels. And I do not count CO2 as an emission. 3: Hydrogen is only nice when you can produce it in the vehicle with free energy (Stanley Meijer with high frequency plasma water splitter) or with an yet unknown energy source. If not hydrogen production requires huge amounst of energy which nobody speaks about and on top of that there is a huge transport and storage problem. The world is facing one acute problem and that is the New World Order who use everything they can to demolish our civilisation. Let us first solve that problem.
