Well, to begin with it's tradition, but all of that aside, the SPEBSQSA said they had to be a quartet! It's in the rules. 4 people. Quartet. And the form is also specified...what voices need to be included. There's nothing wrong with other forms such as The Kings Singers or Chanticleer for example, or maybe Armarcord. But, for the record...That's who said they have to be a quartet!
