How Do I Make a Textured Background with Rubber Bands?
I love when I can use non-crafty objects in my craft room to make cards! Here, I show you how to use rubber bands on a block to make a textured background that is unique and very organic. I use rubber bands of varying thicknesses and wrap them around a block. Then I press the block into the ink pad and "stamp" it on my paper. The result is very cool! You can leave it as is, clean your block and stamp in different colors, or use a blending brush to color the background. I chose to color my sample with blending brushes and paired it with the Caring Leaves to show you a finished card. Enjoy!

Two Tone Cardstock and the New Scrapbooking Line
Переглядів 116День тому
You may not have noticed, but Stampin' Up! has recently introduced a line of products aimed at scrapbooking. When Close to My Heart closed, many of their makers joined our demonstrator family (so glad to have them!) and the two companies came up with a plan to carry over some of the CTMH products. Part of this line is two tone cardstock. This is 12" x 12" paper that is printed so one side has t...
How Do I Make Faux Tiles?
Переглядів 10114 днів тому
For this technique, all you really need is the ability to score cardstock. I used my Paper Trimmer, but you could also use a score board. By creating a regular pattern of scored lines, you can stamp your image on the debossed side and the result looks like tiles! It is better to use stamps that are full images rather than outline shapes so when you stamp, the full image will be broken up with u...

A few months ago, I showed a card sample in a video that was a fun fold. I subscriber recently asked me the name of the fun fold. I learned it from Deno Rekow, my upline, but I have no idea what it's called. I told my subscriber that I would show how to make it - so here it is! My previous sample used a paper from one of 6" x 6" packs of paper with scenes. However today, I am using 12" papers t...
All About the More Than Autumn Bundle!
Переглядів 8621 день тому
I love the fall and when I first saw this bundle, it was on the top of my wish list with the new mini catalog! There are so many stamps and dies - 36 and 23, respectively. I have my chart to show you the 24 stamps without dies, 12 stamps with coordinating dies and the 10 standalone dies. We'll be making a fun card that uses two techniques - paper piecing and masking with Blending Brushes to mak...
How Do I Make "Watery" Leaves or Botanicals?
Переглядів 84Місяць тому
I've always loved watercolor techniques and now that the leaves are turning into lovely fall colors, I thought I'd share this easy technique, which is perfect for fall leaves. The most important thing is to use watercolor paper - this will not work on normal cardstock. Simply stamp your image and then spritz until you get the watery look you want! I prefer line images rather than solid stamps b...
Sweetest Star Wreath and More!
Переглядів 358Місяць тому
When the new catalog came out and I saw the Sweetest Star Bundle, I knew it would be on my first order. It reminds me of a set from Stampin' Up! long ago called Star Santa. I especially loved how they punched out stars, made them dimensional by scoring and folding, and then turned them into a cute wreath! What they didn't tell us is how to make it! So I pondered this dilemma while on my recent ...
How Do I Make Measuring and Cutting Easier with my Paper Trimmer?
Переглядів 95Місяць тому
Here's a super quick tip to help you when using the paper trimmer. Since the trimmer has both metric and English measurements, use washi tape to cover up the measurements you don't use. A half inch wide tape will cover up the unwanted measurements completely and help you eye see the ones you do need! The washi tape is thin so it won't get in the way of your cutting. If you found this video inte...

OK, Christmas is months away, but I couldn't resist! The Sweetest Star bundle is just so adorable! I have a festive layout that uses the Take a Bow 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper as the backdrop for my santa (and gingerbread man!). Both of these are from the new Mini Catalog (September - December). In case you're interested, the DSP squares are 1-1/2" and the Basic White behind them is 3-3/8" sq...
Introducing the Regal Winter Suite!

As soon as I saw the new mini catalog, I fell in love with this gorgeous suite of products! I love the rich, jewel tones in the amazing Designer Series (DSP) paper pack - Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, Cherry Cobbler, Blackberry Bliss, Wild Wheat and Berry Burst! The florals are gorgeous and the "plain" back sides are lovely too! There is a second pack of DSP that has gold foiled designs paired...
How Do I Make Pearlized Backgrounds and Images?
Переглядів 1252 місяці тому
When you use your Water Painter and Enamel Effects, you can make amazing pearlized backgrounds, papers, shapes, tags and images! You will want to cover your block with plastic wrap, or use a scrap piece of plastic so you have a place to pool the Enamel Effects. I used the flat brush to apply color in a variety of ways, even adding ink to change the color! Be sure to have a cup of water handy so...
7 Different Ways to Color the Frosted Forest Tree
Переглядів 762 місяці тому
This video will feature seven different ways you can color the deciduous tree from the Frosted Tree Bundle. Because this is a technique video, I am not showing a variety of cards like I normally do, but teach you each of the seven methods of coloring. For each tree, I've used the same colors as much as possible to yield a true comparison. I've indicated the times for the beginning of each metho...
How Do I Make a Fun, Textured Background with my Brayer?

When using panels embossed with an embossing folder, you have two sides to use for your cards - embossed or debossed. When I was making a card recently and added the glue to adhere it to my card, I noticed just how lovely the debossed side was. It gave me the idea to color this with my brayer and I was thrilled with the effect! This video will show you just how I added my colors along with some...

I have a really interesting background made from the debossed side of a panel embossed with the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder and a brayer. I am using the Sentimental Park and Simply Said stamps, along with the Greetings of the Season and Sentimental Park Dies. To see how I lightly colored the flowers, watch this video short (ua-cam.com/video/-CvV-Gq-HEQ/v-deo.html). Here is a another video s...
How Do I Add Light Color to a Stamped Image?
Переглядів 572 місяці тому
This is a very quick way to add light color to a stamped image. After stamping, use the Blender Pen to drag color from the lines of the stamped image to lightly fill in the rest of the image. I demonstrate with flowers and leaves, but the possibilities are endless! I especially like doing this when I want a soft look. Be sure to watch for an upcoming Creativity in a Snap video that will show ho...
