Helldivers 2 Purifier Test Run, Amazing AoE Stagger (Solo Max Difficulty, Tips, Fun Facts)
Helldivers 2 Purifier gameplay, SOLO MAX DIFFICULTY Automaton ERADICATION MISSION. Helldivers 2 Purifier (PLAS-101) is a primary weapon. No support weapon used for Purifier testing purposes. A mainly ENTERTAINMENT VIDEO with INSTRUCTIONS in mind.
An extremely easy and smooth run, honestly too smooth. No Factory Striders spawned and everything else couldn't get near me due to the sheer AoE stagger potential of the PLAS-101 Purifier. I even skipped the support weapon and backpack slots all together and it held it's own just fine. Arguably with more Hulks and Tanks I could have been in trouble but the red Stratagems I brought handled those just fine. Considering this is the first time I ran the Purifier, I'm extremely impressed with it (I can imagine this thing being deadly in the hands of someone willing to put in practice with it). It does great damage, arguably with low DPS because of it's low rate of fire. The compensation it gets is immense however, namely:
- phenomenal staggerpower;
- good magazine size;
- fast reloadspeed;
- great handling, and;
- excellent AoE damage potential.
You really should try this gun out. Let me know how you feel about it!

The loadout:
- FS-38 ERADICATOR: with 550 speed, -30% recoil when crouch or prone & +50% explosive damage resistance. The armor piece is my go-to, fitting my "crouch and prone very often" mentality (including crouch-sliding and diving). It's a strong defensive tool, preventing me from worrying so much about random rockets and mortars. It also augments my offensive capabilities because I can increase my rate of fire whenever I'm crouched or prone, effectively increasing my DPS;
- PLAS-101 PURIFIER: immense powerhouse energy-based weapon. With 250 base (AoE) damage, 15 bullets per magazine and 20 recoil it's fair to say one of the only (if not THE ONLY) downside to this gun is it's rate of fire. Unmentioned in the stats is it's crazy amount of staggerforce and it's ability to do so in an area-of-effect (AoE). The cherry on top is it's ability to penetrate medium armor. Honestly I feel a nerf coming, and perhaps rightfully so. Enjoy while it lasts;
- REDEEMER: powerful and versatile secondary, basically an uzi. One of the last patches increased it's recoil, which you can easily compensate for with a little practice (by dragging your mouse downward slowly while firing). When in doubt about what secondary to bring, you can't go wrong with this gun;
- IMPACT GRENADES: extremely potent grenades for both Automatons and Terminids. Exploding on impact grants them utility other nades simply don't have. You can take out Walkers easily and they can clear the cargo a dropship leaves behind in seconds (depending on their armor rating). Arguably one of the best grenades in the game, lacking behind in utility only to the stun grenade in my opinion;
- HELLPOD SPACE OPTIMIZATION (AMMO) BOOSTER: normally not the best booster in my opinion, simply deploying you with all your ammunition, grenades and stims. For an Eradication mission I usually expect to die alot however, suddenly making this a very viable booster. I didn't die this entire run so I essentially wasted a booster, but definitely a booster worth bringing when you expect your group to be learning alot (so die alot);
- EAGLE 500KG: with the ship module upgrades, having two of these every 150 seconds is phenomenal. They get dropped from the angle you threw them in and mostly do damage in vertical fashion. These bad boys will take care of your Hulks and Tanks problem with ease. Two of them take out a Factory Strider if well aimed also;
- EAGLE AIRSTRIKE: similar to the 500kg bomb, this stratagem handles your big-boi problems. It's perpendicular call-in direction gives you the flexibility of optimizing your damage however. So choose your Eagle according to how they line-up;
- ORBITAL LASER: an absolute beast of a stratagem, useful in any and all missions. The laser will track all of your enemies and desintegrate them before your eyes. The biggest downside is that you can only use it three times per mission, which on this mission is not a problem considering it's a short mission (15min)!

Purifier would be less annoying to use if they let you turn on a full auto mode so you wouldn't have to let go of the mouse button to fire.
I gave it a shot over the last week, No Pun intended But the punisher plasma exists and just embarrasses this gun in every way.
I like the gun, but somethimes the explosion range feels smaller than it actually is. To me atleast.
That's fair. I think perhaps my bias is that I'm used to guns that don't have explosion range whatsoever. Fair point though!

You should try the plasma punisher, it's a way better version of the purifier

Pre patch this gun got me killed cuz of the charge up
The charge up feels very much like the Arc Thrower, just like the Arc Thrower I think it's an acquired taste. The ammo efficiency, AoE damage and stagger make it solid imo.
Makes 5 headshots with main gun - enemy dies in a minute. Makes quick burst with sidearm - enemy dies. Main gun is S tier you guys hur dur! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That's fair! The stagger is S-tier for sure, you can also always use it as a Grenade Launcher-esque gun hitting Dropship's cargo. Thank you for the comment!

I'm sure the tenderizer AR will be buffed with the mega patch, but it'd be interesting to see how you do with it in its current state
I tried a couple runs with it, I'm an awful AR player though. I don't know any shooters where I enjoy AR's unfortunately. From what I get from friends who enjoy AR's it's not as good as it's competition but not horrible either.

I don't have many weapons unlocked, but I'm definitely going to get this one for the bots. I also have a hard time with some of the achievements like "Gone In 360 Seconds," so it would be cool to see tips on getting the harder ones. Love your work, keep saving lives and ending bots!
Nice! It's a fantastic bot weapon in my opinion, the stagger makes devastators a piece of cake. Just gotta make sure you have an answer for the big boys after that. Thank you for the advice, I'll do my best to get a good video on that achievement!

If you wanna do my load out for next, I go sickle, the auto pistol, and impact. Stratgems are auto cannon, airstrike, emp sentry, orbital rail strike. I know it’s weird but it works for me. As always the reflections are amazing.

I loving using this with the auto cannon, for ranged enemies/precision shots against devastators (1 hits the small guys too). Also, because I haven't unlocked the scorcher yet 😅
Hell yeah! It's an awesome gun now. I think the scorcher is equal to it, maybe just a little bit better in terms of versatility but not by much anymore 😃

On a scale of 1-10 I give HD2 a 20! 😁 I hate the bugs but find the bites a funner challenge. I have been looking for a really good video like this. Thanks for posting this! I just got the auto cannon and am looking to do solo runs but my prior loadout on trivial, easy and medium needs to be changed out. Tgere a couple of Orbitals I am close to getting. . However I am using the Orbital Gas on outposts. It does fantastic paired with the Eagle Strafing, 120 barrage and Eagle Airstrike. It took out an entire fuel depot, production facility and ammunition base. Works great especially if you can't get a hellbomb down. So looking forward to playing with the auto cannon!
Haha I love it! Awesome positivity. Thank you so much for your compliment as well! Soloing can be quite some fun, it also helps you learn alot of things about the game alot faster. For example you learn the mission objectives alot faster simply because noone else is doing them for you. They did a good job balancing most of the stratagems out, both Orbitals and Eagles. I am more of an Eagle fan but I do mix them up often. Specially since you can throw an Eagle and an Orbital in at the same time for maximum mayhem (they don't share a cooldown). I hope you enjoy your time with the AC as much as I do haha! Thank you for taking the time to comment.

20:44 it's not that crazy, cashcrop made a video a few days back about how to predict it to an extent, for the most part stick 1m to the right and 1m forward from deployment point and prone, very unlikely to hit you! 12:28😁

Love your style. I love the jokes. The "reflections" is a fine change to same idea. The final fun fact is good stuff and very cool you're going to keep doing them. The skips are fine i especially enjoy the fast forward. today with teleports rather than fast forward kinda threw me a bit but it was fine. Just keep doing what you're doing, dont burn out. I enjoy the deep dives for missions. And finally, today i saw a gateway to the upsidedown and had a laugh. #goodtimes while im here ima rewatch your other videos. First of all, I would like to thank you so much for trying this loadout Phacil ;-) 380mm after upgrade should destroy most of any bases or leave it as wasteland, while airstrike with right angle can take out large amount of fabricators with extra bombs and 3uses every 2 minutes .Jump pack for getting out of bad situations and to get where you normally cannot access or hide. Autocannon sentry with upgrades can vaporize at least 2 patrols, help you evade pursuit or provide backup in case you need to stay in place. Dominator with stuns as you greatly demonstrated destroy hulks, devastators and even tanks.(can be swapped for scorcher which can take down gunships but where is fun in that :) ) Senator is great for weak spots (can be swapped out for greanade pistol for extra firepower vs fabricators) Trailblazer as mentioned, one of the choices for run/gun/hide approach in solo play. I am very glad that you tried it and enjoyed it, its no meta but why play with same loadout over and over? Your mental health, gameplay tips are as always top notch, thank you for those. One more thing, maybe if you kindly can, could you recommend us some of your "not mostly used" loadouts so we could try them? If we're sending in builds, please try mine. I'm a little unsure about how good it is, and would like some advice. Equipment: Breaker, Redeemer, Standard Grenades, with Light Armor (with extra padding if you can), Stamina Enhancement Stratagems: Stamina Enhancement, Napalm Strike, 500kg, Grenade Launcher, and the Backpack Laser Drone. You could also get rid of the BLD and GL for an Autocannon and a Mortar Sentry if you want.

I would recommend running Terminid, as I personally hate the Hunters, and want them gone. Other then that, you can pick which faction you think would be easier.
Roger that. Haha I think everyone hates Hunters! Ok, this loadout works well against Terminids I think. The fire damage can work OK against bots but I think it's mostly dominant against bugs. Will do, thank you for the input!
Great vid! I always learn a lot from these. Cuts vs fast forward: I find cuts hard to follow, especially for a mostly-real-time video like this. For me the decision-making of how you move around the map, order objectives, and avoid patrols is still interesting as I learn how to handle high difficulties. Buuut I also think more people will click on a 23 minute video than a 35 minute one. To me, what makes this channel unique is clear communication of how you make your decisions (run vs fight, stratagem vs stealth, hunter vs. bile titan second-by-second). Not just through voiceover & tips, but by watching. Tier lists & generic tip videos are great, but these videos demonstrate how to actually APPLY that knowledge.

That the decision-making is part of the fun for people watching the videos. I placed a poll to see if people mind the long videos and for now it seems to be going in favor of longer videos so I'll probably go back to the fast-forwarding. As I get used to video-editing more I hope I'll think of more ways to make it entertaining / educational. Awesome input, thank you so much. @@PhacilGaming If it helps, I think CommisarKai does a good job of showing decision making too. The difference between good to great players seems to be less about aim & the right weapons/stratagems, and more when & how to fight given the variables of each mission so that you avoid being overwhelmed or running out of time.
