I am born and raised in a very conservative Christian family. I am from Asia where my family is more catholic then the pope. I am being told by my family that the Christian God is full of love and mercy however if you break the first commandment then I will be tormented in hell by Lucifer for eternity. Are you not afraid to embrace paganism after leaving Christianity?

this resonates so much with me. i was a very curious kid asking tons of questions and making up answers for myself. when i was 14 i went to church camp and prayed before that "God if you exist show yourself to me". I felt really close to the divine at church camp and converted to christianity. I was a camp counselor for years but i never really agreed with the vision of hell or heaven that was taught. i didn't like the guilt that was put on me and the rules that came with "following Jesus". in recent years the hate that christians spread and the hurt they caused to people through their bigotry made me reluctant to identify as one. i want to have a connection to the divine i just believe that the way it's sold in christianity is not the way for me. i'm still searching and trying to deconstruct my christianity i'm learning so much about other practices it's amazing.

I don't really think the word "Pantheism" can be used to describe Christians to be honest, when Pantheists talk about any form of God or divinity, what they mean is the universe/Earth/nature itself, not at all any form of outer influence who made it, it's entirely the universe itself that is their god, and it's not seen as a living thing in the slightest. Regardless, I liked your story! I was never Christian but instead a very annoyed Atheist my whole childhood who hated religion so much, then as I got into my early 20's I discovered other spiritualities other than the Abrahamic ones and my spiritual world was let loose. Pantheism was what got me to become spiritual, because it's most close to Atheism, but then as I progressed I went very much towards Witchcraft and Paganism.

I was raised Christian, and hell has been so deeply ingrained in my mind that it has been very difficult to accept the fact that I have been a closet witch my whole life, I just felt it from a very young age. I remember practicing my first spell without even realizing what I was doing, and my spell worked! I haven't told any of my family because I know how it would go if I did. I still haven't dared step out and full-on practice it. Christians reinforce my fears by telling me that it will let demons into my life and risk possession, or that I will be cut off from God permanently. If Christianity is real, then I'm doomed. I have read the Bible, not in full, but I know the gospels and know what the Old Testament God was like, and I didn't like it, and I just can't justify some of the things in the Bible. How can I preach the gospel and defend it when there are things in it that I can't by my own good conscious defend. If I were a defense lawyer, my defense wouldn't hold up in court.

I went to a Christian college and I asked A LOT of questions in theology class. The most interesting response I got was from another student who said "Why don't you just believe what you're told to believe?!" Also, what was interesting is that there were multiple times the professor didn't have an answer to my questions.

Thanks for your story. I think in this postmodern era in which we are living, people are starting to ask why we believe/think/process the way we do. Is it just habit? It's comfortable? Perhaps, it is both, until it isn't. For some time now, I have thought we are facing, in the West anyway, a crisis of meaning and community. The old pat answers don't satisfy any longer and community remains allusive (FB/Social media doesn't count--it can reinforce, but it cannot replace). That is why people begin to look elsewhere. I do have a perspective and that is that the spark of life within all beings--but we are talking about the humans for now--seeks freedom, creativity and a best outcome. I realize there is a lot to unpack in that statement, but the "spark/divinity" doesn't really care much for exclusivist institutions. I see, at least on the horizon, increased efforts at bringing people together under spiritual practice. Some practices may lean contemplative, some more open such as unitive in nature, some even Eastern, and most likely and ultimately, blendings and cross-fertilizations of techniques and practices across traditions. It's hard to say how this will all pan out, but your journey is indicative of that movement. If Wicca works for you, or any variations, great! If you have a philosophical bent, you might read some of process philosophy/theology which shares some of your perspectives on the universe, but steps into the quantum world also. I think you will find it reinforces many of your current pantheistic views and takes it a step further. It's originator (Whitehead) was accused to drifting into Buddhism. So, in Zen fashion--hands clasped together.

Hi there Hannah, (first of all, I'm sorry for the *reeeealllyyy* long text) It was really interesting to hear your testimony. I presume you don't regret your journey which led to where you are now, but as a Christian I must say I am sorry that you did not have a family that was open to questions and supported healthy religious discourse. It is natural for people, especially children, to question everything -it's part of what makes us humans- but despite that, when one is not ready to be challenged, due to a number of reasons, they may quickly become dismissive and hostile. I'm glad that going to camp was such a positive experience that led to spiritual growth, and I really wish that your family had fostered that curiosity, which was coming from a desire to better understand God and grow in your faith. I've heard similar stories many times from others that grew up Christian and ended up turned down by the faith for one reason or another, sometimes after witnessing hypocrisy from fellow Christians (who are supposed to be Christians (= "Jesus-like"), and other times due to a lack of understanding or misunderstanding of a particular matter (for example, a given Bible verse), without having a more knowledgeable "figure" with whom they could discuss such matters respectfully. I am a bit like the opposite -well, actually I grew up without any faith, despite being surrounded by Christians- but as I got older I became more spiritual, but as I began to search more and more, the Christian faith began to make more and more sense, leading to my conversion. I haven't finished reading the Bible yet - getting through the OT was soo long - but I read from the NT every Sunday at church. What I'm trying to say is, for a while as I continued to search, more and more questions would arise, and I kept seeking answers (and still do - it's a journey!) But the turning point for me was realizing that I did not *have* to have all the answers to trust Jesus. In fact, if I did, there may be very little "trust" needed. I realized that to trust is just that - to trust. That is the definition of having faith. It is to trust when you don't have an answer. If you think about it, we do this all the time in our lives: when we get on a plane, we trust that it won't crash; when we go swimming, we trust that there won't be a shark in the water; when we buy food from a street vendor, we trust that it is not poisoned (sorry for the bad examples, but I hope they're helpful). Trusting Jesus doesn't mean that I have stopped seeking answers, but it is no longer a "pre-requisite" for believing in Him. Disclaimer: It is *okay* to question something you read in the Bible, after all, the Bible is composed of different literary styles and it is not always to be taken literally. If we *were* to take it all literally, there wouldn't be so many denominations! I believe science and religion/spirituality complement each other, and so, one cannot contradict the other. If they appear to be in contradiction, that means there is a misunderstanding in either the scientific or religious beliefs. But, believe me, arriving at that conclusion isn't always easy, and I've had to revisit some of the same themes in my head as I come across a new question that may sound contradicting to another aspect of my faith, or because I forgot what I'd concluded it meant/my interpretation of it. I've debated certain matters in my head a lot, and have prayed for discernment, but that is part of what it means to grow in my faith. I will not shut down questions - coming from myself or others - because my faith is being challenged, but that confidence grows as I become more knowledgeable. I still have so much more learning and growing to do, and questions are *good* , though sometimes still scary (again, being challenged puts you in a vulnerable position, but turning hostile is not the answer). When a new question arises, the initial confusion becomes inspiration, and prompts reflexion and takes me back to the Bible and other resources, to learn more and become able to share that knowledge with others. Going back to some of the comments/questions about Christianity that you brought up growing up: 1- "being a good person *because you want to go to heaven* ": despite what Catholics and a few other Christian denominations may believe, in John 14, Jesus says that "if we love Him, we will keep His commands". That is not an order given to us - it is a consequence, a result. In other words, he says that if we love Him, we will follow Him. As Christians (="Jesus-like"), we are given a new Life in the Spirit, and as a consequence we will want to keep the commands, not because we are told to do so, but because *they will bring us joy* . We will *want* to be a good person, and to become somebody others can see Jesus in. But going back to the question: being a good person does not place you in heaven. In fact, that is where Christianity differs from many other religions! We are saved by Grace, not because of works. We are saved because we have accepted Jesus in our hearts, and believe that he came to save humanity from its corrupted nature (=sin) which separated/separates us from God in the first place. In other words, he is our connection to the source of Life, God. (John 10:9, John 14:6) 2- "within Christianity the world doesn't matter because it isn't the ultimate destination": this one may be more controversial, but I don't believe we go to "heaven" when we die, or that the Earth isn't the ultimate destination. When we die, we are reunited with God, yes, but as the book of Revelation describes, in Jesus' second coming, a "new Earth" will be formed, where we will reign with Jesus as a renewed creation, and we will live in harmony as we were meant to from the start. (here is a helpful video that touches on this, if you want to learn more ua-cam.com/video/6v4jKkFj3TI/v-deo.htmlsi=tON-De3gbzFLxqLX - it is an incredible channel that has helped me grow in my faith tremendously). In fact, why would God destroy the Earth if, when He created it, "it was good"? The point was for us to live here in harmony. 3- what happens to speakers of other languages if they die without having heard the gospel in their language/if they died before Jesus came: this is a tough one, and I've asked myself that question too. I can think of many scenarios where one might not have the chance to accept Jesus, but I don't see why God would hold them accountable if they never had the chance to reject Jesus in the first place. One of the reasons Jesus came, was so that we could have life, and abundant life (John 14:9) - not just in the afterlife, but here and now as well. This takes me back to my testimony, where, while I was searching I had so many doubts and questions, but once I trusted Jesus, I immediately felt a sense of peace and joy that I'd never felt before, and I wish on everybody to experience the same! Therefore it is my duty as a Christian to present others with the opportunity for that to happen. I'll never push my faith on anybody because obviously that would do more harm than good. But I hope I can plant some seeds. Once again, I am sorry that you did not receive the support you needed at the time; you were just being a curious child, and didn't deserve to have your thoughts and questions shut out or invalidated. As a Christian, of course I hope that you come back to Christ, and He will be waiting for you if or when you decide to do so (Matthew 18:12-14). But, all in all, I hope that you are at peace. Please let me know your thoughts, any questions, etc. God bless.

Starting out because I am a closeted green witch I’m really into herbalism and herbal medicines and remedies. So my parents know I’m into herbalism and I want to start practice holistic health and remedies. Til I can move out on my own and practice more in-depth with my practice. This video was very helpful

Watching this is fascinating. I was born into and raised catholic. I never attended any camps but I never felt a definitive connection to Catholicism. It felt strange that people weren’t questioning things or that everything talked about was believed as truth without explanation. Figuring out my place in witchcraft has been slightly confusing because I don’t really know how to do things without the presence of catholic practices involved. It’s been interesting so far.

    1. The general, 'masculine' cosmos and the special, 'feminine' Earth (Gen 1:1); 2. The Earth, as its own general subject, and its special kind of material wealth: its abiding maximal abundance of open liquid water (v. 2); 3. That water, in general, and its cycling (the water cycle, vs. 3-10); 4. The water cycle, in general, and its beneficiaries: biological life (vs. 11-12); 5. Biological life, in general, and its special category, animal biology (vs. 20-25); 6. Animals, in general, and its special category, humans (vs. 26-29); 7. The general human and the special...woman (Genesis 2:7-25). There are ONLY FIVE names that Genesis 1 reports that God gives to five things. And, these things seem to be the Earth's own prime three dynamic, feminine subsystems of its water cycle: 1. the thermally regulative day/night cycle ('day' and 'night', v. 5); 2. the thermally regulative atmosphere ('shamayim', v. 8; NOT 'ha-shamayim', for, the latter is general sky, like in Gen 2:4a); 3. the land/sea surface thermal exchange system ('earth' and 'seas', v. 10). If these three sets of things are what these verses are reporting, then it finds analogy in Adam's later naming Woman (Genesis 2:23, I believe she, likewise, names him). For, these things are the Earth's own basic, feminine subsystems for handling the Sun's radiation for benefit of life on Earth. This is why Genesis 1 says that God saw that the light (v. 3) was good. For the 'light' is in the prior context of the Earth and its wealth of water. It is not (repeat, not) physical light unto itself that God called good. It is the relation which the light has for the potential for water-based life on Earth. For, tellingly, the Genesis 1 account does not report that God names gravity, or light, or even water. Only of day-and-night, as such, and the atmosphere, and of land and sea. These are: (i) of continual regular rotation of the Earth, which moderates that 'directional' radiation for all parts of the Earth (Gen 1:4-5); (ii) the Earth's atmosphere, which further moderates that radiation to the surface (Gen 1:6-8); (iii) the continual thermal exchange of land and sea, which constitutes the thermal moderating system of Earth's thermally binary surface (Gen 1: 9-10).

Got to the part where youre talking about your questioning. As a sold out christian i would like to affirm you on all of this... as much as i do love my brothers and sisters the area of "apologetics" is truly undeveloped. There are answers to all of your questions, however anyone (not just Christians) only have so much free mental energy and space to give over to any goven topic. And then there are people with questionable moral indoctrinal characters. I do hope you find the Lord once more as i know He loves you so very deeply. Peace :).

That's not true in my opinion. Many people go to Christian schools and debates and at the end face the question, "Why dont you believe what you're told?" or "Its written in the book!". If there was any person who could have explained it in way that "everyone will understand it" and "no questions will be left" it would have been out by now. Even, people reading sacred text at the end had to shut up and just accept what's written.

@sushilkumarlohani6709 chur. well you know, if you actually want to look into the validity of the biblical texts you will find it. It is a big task, there's a lot of historical and cultural context and you will have to sift through the "just believe it cause". But there is overwhelming evidence. "The Case for Christ" is a great movie based on a book of one person doing just that. But it is well worth looking into and there will be two possible outcomes. You can say for a fact that you've actually genuinely looked into our case and then found it to be wrong (I don't believe I've ever personally met someone who has done this) and then can prove that undeniably to Christians or you find that our beliefs are valid and you have just met the Holy God of the Universe.

@sushilkumarlohani6709 also there hasn't been a moment I just say down shut up and listened to YHWH. He asks for faith sure, but the idea of blind faith is an entirely new idea. YHWH always reveals Himself and then asks you to have faith so that He will continue to show Himself. I met YHWH and then I sat down and read His book because I knew Him to be trustworthy and far greater in knowledge than I am.

@@HuiothesiaI agree with you, but I've also met people who are overly protective to their text and belief and don't prefer to jump into discussion and questions about them. many criticizes movies and shows about "intentional" wrong depiction of their beliefs, rather taking them as progressive step. But your point stand I get it.

@sushilkumarlohani6709 this is true. However I'm hesitant to label this as an issue with any one group. I've been an athiest, a spiritualist (also seeking many religions) and eventually a Christian. I found that close mindedness is an inherently human problem and pointing the finger at everyone else while refusing to look at ones self (and ones own group) was just as much the problem. Any good Christian realizes that he is a hypocrite and that the church is filled with them. It's a major point of the old and new Testament. But if those coming into the church are hypocrites, what did that make them before they entered?

Hi, I wanna thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with witchcraft over here. I discovered your channel just recently, and I'm learning so much from you. I live in northeast Brazil, and I have always lived in a crisis with the place where I live, but you inspired me to rethink all of that, to reshape my entire practice and to connect with the energies of this place. I am now creating (which is something very dear to me) my own path focused entirely on the nature around me. I'm creating my own wheel of the year and shaping all the aesthics and symbols os my practice to be in tune with the real world around me. It gives me freedom, enhances my intuition and my creativity, and I am very, very thankful for the gods for having met you here. Best wishes and energies for you! ❤

This video couldn’t have showed up at a better time for me. I remember following you and Leah and other witchy content creators around the time of the pandemic, and it’s so beautiful to watch everyone’s practice grow and change. I plan to move from the PNW to the east coast in about a year, and similarly, we are taking only the essentials. I was reflecting on these exact sentiments and I took everything I’ve collected over the years off my altar and put back only the things I actually use and connect with. It was shocking how many things i had that didn’t reflect my current practice anymore. Enjoying this last year in the beautiful pnw and not taking a second for granted 🫶🌟

Hi Dear, The bible explains what happened to the people who lived before Jesus, as well if you are saved by Jesus by believing in the gospel you won't be able to get ''possesed'' anymore, this is not to change what you believe however I feel you were surrounded by people who didn't know many things and didn't read the bible or studied it properly, which is really common unfortunately.

Many of them did. If you read stories of Alexandar from Greece sources, there are parts when there were elements of homosexuality. It is mentioned by multiple sources by romans, greeks and others that celts had a culture of homosexuality as well. So there were differences you should mention which Paganism you allow. As far as I know, germans and norse didnt approved homosexuality. (I could be wrong)

Wow, this is interesting. I am very new to magic so I really need to clarify on this. Can I use 1 sigil permanently for say for example, protection? Can I just 1 one sigil for that or do I have to make one everytime? What is the difference betwen a passive and active sigil and how long should it work? Thank you for clarifying.

My path towards becoming a witch started when I looked up the difference between the words theism and atheism. LOL as an adult I didn't know which was which. I looked up these words on UA-cam and atheism brought me a post by Christopher Hitchens. One video by him and I was done done with Christianity and was on my way.
