Blue Forest Films produces outdoor adventure films that celebrate the human experience and the natural environment. We are interested in the big questions and the small details.
Duluth Motherpuckers
The Duluth Motherpuckers are a group of hockey moms and women in Duluth, Minnesota with just the right amount of edge. They flood the rinks, maintain the warming house, drink beer in the zamboni shack, and when all the kids have been tucked into bed, they strap on the pads themselves.
"I'm not a book club person," says Liesa Klyn, a founding member of the Duluth Motherpuckers.
Klyn and a small group of women formed the group in 2022 with the goal of increasing access to the sport for "women of a certain age." What began with a simple Facebook post has grown into a group of over 50 women.

Awesome 🎉🎉
Love this.
I can totally relate….excellent film
Nice one that man
Great video! I've never really done very well on North Shore streams. I know the fish are there- I'm just not good at catching them. This video has me wanting to try again, maybe I need to expand my Wooly Booger collection😊
Came for the video, stayed for the story. Thanks for sharing your personal journey so openly, thank you thank you and wishing you, your wife and family all the best!
Now the petitioner who petitioned me, lied. Simple as that in michigan. The standard of evidence was non existent, I never had my right by jury trial, and was told to hush by my attorney. For a gun rights advocate like myself, I was politically targeted. Meanwhile in Colorado the venenzuelan gang is taking over the streets as the citizens are left defensless. So they call on government that cannot possibly respond fast enough in time.
I have trust issues, because this system hinders our liberty. Based on fallacies and lies, dedicated to stimulate jobs that alter our liberty. This is why blue collard jobs are dying. What if someone petitioned you on lies.
Very well done sir.. I to have broke and cycling brought me back..
Wow this was refreshing as all get out! So cool to see a fly fishing movie that isn't centered around "look at me and the biggest fish I caught." I think a big part of why I fly fish, most often alone in the middle of nowhere, is to get humbled and stay grounded. Really beautiful movie... and c'mon, who doesn't love Brookies?!
This is great!
GREAT,,,THANKS
Peace brother, let the water heal! Char life
This is incredible!
I love it. Made my day.
A cycling film that is really a metaphor for life in many ways. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing with the world - I applaud your emotional courage to do so, I got something out of it!
No judge here in Ontario does anything to help with mental health anymore! No hospital will commit the worst case of mental illness, I am living this right now! Southlake hospital in Newmarket is absolutely disgusting and provides no help for this as well as Sudbury Hospital. Just read the other comments here as I believe the psychiatrist should be charged with murder
Wow! This is awesome!! I was like omg… I know her! I met Alyssa last last year when we did Americorps together. Such a small world. Love this channel! Also, I need one of those boats… lol!
Hey, y’all!! Awesome video and trip!! Fellow northern mn fly fisherman here. Not seeking or needing any location info or tips, just curious as to what the flows were/are at when u run this section of river? We do a lot of river float fishing trips like this in the driftless and over on the Wisco brule, but never in my wildest dreams did I think this was a reality along the north shore until my brother showed me this video and I was beyond stoked!! Would it be doable in a canoe and/or kayaks? I’ve been packrafting before, just don’t own one myself (yet). I also know how variable the north shore streams are and how treacherous they can be - making portaging heavy boats tough. Did y’all just show up and send it or did you get some much needed advice from local sources in grand marais? Nonetheless, freaking awesome!!
beautiful documentary, thank you :)
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed it.
Nice video! Can I reprint this video to Bilibili (a Chinese website)to show it to Chinese bikers?
I also work in mental healthcare, and six months ago i started going on longer rides up here in northern Norway on my gravel bike. Longest ride in the summer was 147 km Through some of the most beautiful farmland id ever seen. It was always right in my vicinity, but id never had a reason to travel there by car. After that long ride, i felt privileged to be alive.
Great work!
Thanks, Jack! Used the S1 for this.
Awesome man, for you, your family and what cycling means to alot of people, it's about connection Have a good one, and always enjoy
The background music is horrible and too loud
So taking your chain off is meant to deter theft?
How do you go about rafting like this? Do you set up camp upstream and float your way down to a take out then walk the raft back up to camp? Seems like paddling upstream would be a little tricky here
One word “Subscribed”
Thank you!
Wooaw inspiring a lot!
This was beautifully done. I have recently gotten into gravel biking and live in St. Paul, MN. I will be adding this event to my to do list
Thanks for watching, Matt! Enjoy your riding.
This is exactly what I needed to see and hear. Thank you.
Very glad the story was impactful for you. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely incredible film man. Enjoyed every second.
Thank you!
Beautiful film
I needed to hear this. Thanks from the mountains of West Virginia.
It’s so great to have a judge that understands mental health and trauma great job from the life of a 33 Social Worker
It's all a show, go to grand rapids michigan attorneys are laughing right now, "oh another assault case laugh".
Hallo! I’m from Italy, can I have more details of this beautiful event? Thank you 🙏🚴♀️
Thanks for watching. Details about the event can be found here: www.heckofthenorth.com/
Thank you vero much. Really appreciate 🙏🤟🚴♀️
One day I want to participate in a gravel race like this. For now I’ll cruise the roads up by my cabin on gunflint trail in grand marais
Just wonderful. Thank you!
Well done, thanks for creating!
What an inspirational little film.... I didn't expect that & really enjoyed listening to your journey! I wish we had more gravel events in the UK 🙂
Thanks for watching!
💯💬
Great job! The lighting and the pacing of everything just flow well! Was this shot with the Varicam?
Thanks! This was shot with the Eva1.
What an annoying music
My dad took me to the Brule River and a creek up there years ago. I got my first brook trout up there on old flies. One, a parachute fly with a tiny slice of cork on the post and a Herters balloon streamer, on a 5’3” Fenwick glass 5 weight. I still remember it like it was yesterday! Great video thanks for sharing!
Very nice
Thanks.
this is awesome. have you guys seen gravel criterium races like this? ua-cam.com/video/DazXcTD4XoI/v-deo.html
A few years ago I rode your Le Grand du Nord. Beautiful area and ride. Heck of the north is still on my list to ride yet.
Loved the video. I am new to fly fishing, but not Mn or fishing in general. Live in St Cloud and looking forward to coming up country to catch some brown trout. Always wanted to learn to fly but just starting at 60. Love wild MN. Thanks for loving Gods creation and sharing it here.
You got a little bipolar in yah!
Very great Bro..
