as a fellow musician this is insane, i'd imagine tracking 7/8 would be a nightmare
I made it more difficult that it needed to be, as I had a main groove that gave 7 beats a phrase. Then I realised I needed more resolution for certain parts, so had two separate groves playing at the same time. Quickly got complicated!

If I want to make music in a more fun and hand on way, is TE OP-XY more fun than M8 Tracker 2 and how about capabilities?
I don’t have knowledge of the OP-XY. I owned a OP-1 for a while though. Different workflows. The M8 is my ideal workflow. You program in the music and tweak as much as you want. I absolutely love the M8 and sold my OP-1. Everyone is different though

Never played Balatro so I was like "wow, that's a really good song!". The M8 is a unicorn of a device. Good at everything, portable, fun, cool, just ... awesome.

Why are some phrases red, on the song page?
You can triple press option (I think) and it marks it as a bookmark. Handy for navigating around the project. I normally put them on breaks and section changes.

@ oh thanks so much. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I enjoy making videos on the M8. I highly recommend you join the discord too. The workflow on the M8 can seem difficult, but once you “get it” it’s super fast and intuitive
