Definitely one I wish I had kept, but don’t think I would be doing doughnuts in one now with their values. But nice to reminisce about when life was care free 👌🙈

Golf MK7 wet footwells, water ingress, misting up, leaky rear doors. How to fix it and dry it out
Переглядів 252День тому
Does your golf MK7 mist up or just smell bad? Despite dry to touch carpets you probably have a water leak and wet carpet underlay. This video I show how it’s happening and the steps to fix it. Please see my other video to see the easiest and quickest way to stop the boot filling with water. I have performed all these fixes on my own cars and I have 2 dry golf Mk7’s

    The Mk7has some nice interior touches over my Mk8 like far better quality carpet and mats plus the extra storage compartments under seats and by drivers right knee. Let alone the simpler to use controls. Not everything is progress?

      Agreed 👌 I’ve repaired a lot of Mk7’s so took them to bits and are just so well put together. The few water ingress issues are annoying but easily fixed. I like pre Mk7.5 as the analog dash has aged better. The Mk8 R was going to be the perfect upgrade but road tax is £610, no manual (I know they weren’t loved but few tweaks and I’ve found mine great) Shape’s not as nice and have a lot of issues with infotainment let alone annoying to work and don’t start me on Haptic Touch 🤪 I looked at getting Mk8 R and need to put £17k to mine for a 21 plate performance pack and now decided that’s mad, as it’s got a few flaws. just might as well save the money and keep what I have.

    That pressure washer is way to strong for washing cars . Nice car. Be gentle with it.

      It’s a beast and get used all all sorts so need to be versatile, I do have a pressure adjustment by the handle but as this was my car so I just hammer it 🤣🤣🤣. It’s never had any paintwork so not too worried about blowing any paint off…….. 10 years using it haven’t blown paint any off any car…….. yet 🤣🤣🤣🫣🤞🤞🤞🤞

      No but I’m going to get some ordered as I’ve heard it’s very good and would give long lasting protection. To be honest I’ve not put a protection on one of my own cars in a while…….. shockingly lazy of me 🫣🫣🫣

    What solution you got when rinsing the car after prewash coz the suds are constant

    • @mattlehec
      @mattlehec 3 дні тому

      So the machine I use has a chemical tank that I leave on at half way setting so it's mixing with the water and I use Concept Nano fast dry finish which is a gloss drying agent. I find it just stops water staining and adds to the shine whilst making life easier 👌🏼

    Really Good what is the pre wash you used on the car and wheels please plus the tyre dressing as well

    • @mattlehec
      @mattlehec 4 дні тому

      Concept profile tyre shine, lasts well not too much flick off either. Doesn’t go all gummy like some I’ve used.. Concept super alloy wheel cleaner but to be fair I water it down loads as super strong. I’ve used it with a much neater on wheels which have huge build up and removes anything. Prewash I use the concept typhoon + but again I dilute it down a lot so I strip anything on the car off too much. To be fair I don’t use it unless the car is plastered as the hot water does a good job.

    • @tripsingh3642
      @tripsingh3642 4 дні тому

      @mattlehec Wow I know the concept tyre dressing the reason why I never brought it as its the most expensive but I have concept new horizon polish which I have used for many years looks like I need a proper look at concept again thank you so much

      @ Glad if I can be of help. The guy I work for twice a week got the concept guy in and for how often we clean his cars concepts range works great. The contour is worth the cost as tried using cheaper stuff but wasn’t impressed.

    Not to be one to put anyone down but that car isn’t coated in anything water behaviour is just sheeting off the paint work suggests there’s no protection. Also change your nozzle on your pre wash sprayer so it mists the citrus.id snow foamed it after or ontop of the pre wash giving that longer dwelling time. I wouldn’t have done a contact wash straight after a pre wash . You also dip the cloth in the rinse water then dip it straight into the wash bucket 🤦🏻‍♂️ you need to ring the cloth out then you washed the exhaust tips with it which are usually covered in iron fall out then carried on to wash your car. Not hating just a few pointers bud. Nice car though 🤙🏻

    • @mattlehec
      @mattlehec 5 днів тому

      Not at all, all feedback is good 👌 it’s my family hack so it rarely gets much love, would definitely benefit from a coating. I do have a snow foam attachment but i cracked the bottle so was improvising with the pump bottle but agreed didn’t cover well. And you’re right on the bucket guess that what rushing gets you 🤣🤣🫣🫣🫣. Cheers for the feedback 👌

      Spot on. There are far far too many videos on car detailing on UA-cam and doing it like you mention is the simplest no nonsense method that works for me. Along with a stubby gun to clean the more important crap from wheel arches and the underside. Not really into high power washers either. Don’t find the need if a good regime is kept up with quality products.

      Thanks my first try to show cleaning cars and once I get a proper camera will hopefully come out much better. I use Gtechniq perfect glass, I’ve tries so many and by far it’s the best, well worth the premium price. Works great with the green glass cloths too.
