Sony Receivers from this era have virtually no Crosstalk. I have rebuilt 10's of Receivers/Preamps and most have some level of Crosstalk - not this Sony.

Sorry to tell you but Onkyo pitch/speed is higher than correct one and are some wow and flutter. I know very well Big Log from Robert Plant. I have it on L.P and on C.D.
I bought one of these on CL a couple years back. I was going to buy it for posted $100 as-is price, and then at last minute, he dropped price to $50 once I arrived. Perfect mint cosmetics, and only needed minor cleaning of pots, power on switch, and a bulb. No dust inside or on PC boards at all. All other primary circuit components were surprisingly still in spec, so maybe didn’t have much use over the years before I got it? In the late 70's I had a new Pioneer SX450 at 15wpc, and then later an SX650 at 35wpc. I like this Kenwood slightly better in some respects. First, its rated conservatively at 40wpc. I really like the backlit amber tint glass tuning scale, dark monokote spray texture on entire chassis, and has a very decent tuning section. And not overloaded with features most dont use. My former Pioneer's had a front lighted black silk screen on metal tuning scale, and woodgrain vinyl chassis covering and sides that peeled on both after some time. I think those ran a little warm too, possibly. Still liked both at the time, but maybe would have selected this Kenwood if I saw them side by side back then. The SX650 with slightly lesser power was retail priced the same as the Kenwood, so that might have swayed me in my purchase too. All of them are nice finds to restore, regardless, especially if in really nice cosmetic condition.
Nice combo dude I’m happy to see the PX-3 up and running! Great work.
Kenwood sounds better and warmer
Is this up for sale?
Sorry No. Thanks for the Interest.
Nice man!
Even assuming both players are in good working condition, Onkyo makes good stuff but it would be wise if offered to accept the CR-7A. Especially if you have really good speakers and amp.
I have one, the Onkyo is an underrated gem.
Thanks for info
Talk smack about my STR now bitches!
love it!
Excellent!
Shazam says the song is "The Longest Road" by Morgan Page.
Thank you, I have yet to Install that App but have been meaning to.
Love it maan from nottingham. Shake dem t
Pretty! Nothing beats the beautiful brushed finish and machined knobs of vintage receivers.
Thank you, it gets even better inside. The Power Transformer, the Layout, the Circuit Boards and the Switches are excellent quality, actually some of the best in that era.
I am lucky to own the same and it’s excellent including a good phono stage paired with some 72 Kef concord speakers and Goldring cartridge.
Pragtfuld forstærker.
Hi. I wonder how is this possible to record 2 channels full track? I mean 2 tracks for left, and 2 tracks for right. Considering a possibility to use a different level for each track, I'm not sure how they will be mixed at an output.
The TEAC A-3340 Manual will cover the use of this machine.
@@hifimachine4237 It's a bit problematic to find a user/operational manual, and a service manual does not cover these questions. Any way thanks, I'll prefer to have two separate rigs: 4-tracks with an auto reverse for fun and pre-recorded, and 2-tracks for copying of vinyl.
In the old days was call Mctrash by other equipment sellers. I use to owned the C28 and the 2105 amp and they spent most on the Mc Intosh service shop.
Hi, This is my third Marantz, to what kind of speakers do you this unit hook up to it?
Ha autoreverse ??
good information thank you
(Sigh) gloves. Men these days.
I love Bruce too. Just attended his show in Calgary in January 2023.
Good morning friend, excellent video and a historical and museum piece the Radio Recorder Philips Norelco 22rr482. I wanted to ask you the following: I got one to restore, and because I was distracted, I didn't document a cable when I disassembled it. It is 1 (one) gray cable that comes out of the volume potentiometer that I lost track of and I don't know where it should go. ? Would you be so kind to tell me where that gray cable goes? I congratulate you in advance for the video and I thank you in advance for the inconvenience caused. I send you a greeting from Argentina.
А ГДЕ МОЖНО КУПИТЬ ДАНЫЙ АППАРАТ?
what’s up man! i got the same deck i’m having issues with it playing back low audio do you have any fixes for this?
Где можно купить даный аппарат ? Покажите дорожку.
Thanks for your video. Enjoyed it. I own the same model. It turns on but I can’t hear anything. Got any suggestions?
Very interesting and informative video. I have the Heathkit IT-18 transistor tester that i am trying to learn how to use. Thank you
Any update on the repair or fault on this unit? I’m considering buying on from an auction site.
Do you work on vintage stereo amps/receivers for others? If so, what is you contact number? Thanks
It would be a good video if you showed that you were hooking up to.
What size are the belt's Philips 22rr482. Thanks
It's hard to determine which one is better since playback on both decks done via speakers and it wasn't easy to hear the diffeerence. It'll be much better if you try to play same audio segments through line in, meaning connecting line out of your Nakamichi and Onkyo decks to your camera audio line in not via camera microphone. Theoretically, Nakamichi CR-7A should produce better sound because it does have an azimuth control, unless Onkyo's playback head was perfectly callibrated and the tape was recorded on a good source tape deck
I still want that model but difficult to find a decent one and local techs to work on this vintage gear are passing away. Great video.
Lo recomiendas, el sonido es fuerte y nitido, buenos bajos? Es q me venden uno
nice
very reliable turntable
Beautiful job!
How are you using music without getting a content hit?
Some copyright owners allow their music to be played. They run Ads to monetize it.
Thank you for the tips on restoration!
how many belts inside ? what size
Just flat belt
I had a sherwood tuner kinda like this one it was mono but had left and right outputs it was the best tuner i ever owned solid state
I bought one of these a few weeks ago. On mine, the display would flash and then shut off and it wouldn't respond at all. Turned out both the 7805 voltage regulators were only putting out about 1.2 volts. IC101 & IC202. Simple fix to replace them and it's back online. At a minimum, check the 2 x 5 volt rails and the +/- 15 volt rails for correct readings. There's also a -5V rail driven off the -15V rail. YMMV.
Hi Rich, I have not logged into youtube for a while. I had all good voltages on the Power Supply. I can see IC202 and IC204 on the Power Supply PCB but there is no IC101 on the PCB. Could IC101 be one of the 2 that are mounted off to the side on the chassis? I was able to get my unit up and running. The RF Board had the problem. The RF Board is housed in the Aluminum enclosure in the bottom front. There is a heat-sinked transistor that runs hot and the Vcc input resistors had drifted. I replaced them and the Generator now works. Thank you for the suggestion.
@@hifimachine4237 Good to hear you were able to get it working. Yes, IC101 and IC102 are located on the case (right side if I recall correctly). I've made a note to check those resistors on mine if it starts acting up. Thanks.
Awesome deck! Underrated.
Sounds great! thats why I listen to mine alot it has rich sound compared to newer stereo receivers. Just saw your video on renewing This model.
How much did it cost you, I have one too, it works great only problem is scratchy volume sometimes.
Beautiful . Dazed & confused with that machine !
Very well done video !!
looks great
