This boss is about to be the reason why I stop playing this game unfortunately. Which is sad because I really like this game. Every time I try to fight her I just get swarmed by other enemies no matter where I try to fight her and she just heals herself and all of them. Guess I’ll save her till I’m super over-leveled. Wish the developers would fix this fight it’s ridiculous.

the jump from act 1 to act 2 has some pretty horrifically bad balance issues in general. this boss in particular can fucking eat dirt, what a poorly designed fight

How is your character moving so fast? Mine moves like he’s wading through molasses.

I friggin hate that fight cause she only spawned in the top of that town where there's way too many other enemies.

The games definitely broken then if your level is doing that kind of damage. Im 3 levels higher and barely scratch her. I even have damage increase gems attached to my powers smh.

Damn, I almost beat it at lvl 61 normal mode a few times, but at the end it summons crazy amount of mobs and I die in seconds…

My man, Azariel, dog walked me up and down the length of that cathedral. Gonna give another go after crafting a holy resistance potion. Hope it mitigates some of the holy damage you take from the area.

Nah this guy killed me at least 10 times jesus...

Best way that worked for me was to use the animals in the area. The moose can deal a great damage to this boss

It's the ability he does at 1/4 health that gets me. Every time it feels like 8 waves spawn right on me and I can't dodge them >.<

I used volatile arachnid, it doesn’t kill them easily, it doesn’t kill them at all

U can kite him around one of the wooden stick wall things. Just crossbow him and adds down with aoe skills. Got in 2 tried

This fight is totally different then represent here. I really dont get it. The 2 huge and 2 small adds in phase two just dont die. Nowhere near how it happens in this video. With this ult one of the huge frog goes down to half hp MAYBE.

Finally beat this guy after several hours of attempts. He re-set himself a *lot* which was really annoying. This video definitely helped as a starting point, thank you so much for posting it. Just being able to watch his patterns without having to focus on avoiding him was a huge help, and matching your build started me on the path to the ability combo I ended up using. I'm going to post it here for anyone else who needs help, since the Duke and many other bosses have been buffed since this video was made. My winning strat was 2x AoE spells (he'll sit in them during his cooldowns and they help clear the adds quickly; because most of his attacks are unblockable I found the shield to be less useful) and, of all things, the Greatsword. Turns out the charge + leap combo is enough to one-shot the smaller adds, and because they're small AoEs they're good for chunking down the group too. Also, the leap can absolutely be used as an emergency evasion move - if you're up in the air, whatever attack is on the way won't hit you. I used a high-quality Rogue blood and some other +movement gear to keep my mobility up. The faster you go, the less you have to rely on the evasion skill, which means it's more likely to be off the (excruciatingly long) 8-second cooldown when he's going to do one of his perfect-tracking attacks (the swallows, specifically, in my experience cannot be strafed or out-spaced - it's evasion or nothing).

I realize now how powerful the reaper is. Trying to kill him with the great sword is tough. Because it's so mele heavy. I honestly wish the great sword did more damage because you need to fight so close and its slow, but it doesnt lol

Is this boss different now? It spawnes many more frogs to me

They made this boss significantly harder since the last time I played a year ago. He will eat your more often and his jump will not be fixed once he leaves the ground, making it almost impossible to dodge. Being 2 or more makes this boss a walk in the park, but soloing it is incredibly frustrating due to the buffing of its mechanics

I am closer to breaking my keyboard and mouse than I am to killing this boss. Mostly because I get taken out by the mobs before I can even get to this boss.

this guy ALWAYS jumps on my face. i cant dodge that!!! and worst of all there is no pattern. you cant tell when it will eat you or lick you. you get eaten gg. then it jumps on your face. spits poison ...goodbye. this game truly has some annoying things im seriously considering uninstalling this game and not playing it ever again. how stupid this can be its unreal

She spawned way more spiderlings for me. Wayyyyy too many. I would easily be fighting 6 of them at a time while my partner would be fighting the same amount and we keep dying.
