Reclaimed Oak wood Bowl Platter
Переглядів 364 роки тому
This bowl/platter was made from reclaimed Oak flooring that I put down over 20 years ago. Now it does not match the new flooring that we put down but even though it was only 40 sq. feet it was to nice to trash, plus you can't just send everything to the dump or put everything in the fire place. So I had the idea to take the 40 inch long flooring boards, and cut them down to 12 inch boards sand ...

Chain saw blade on grinder

This is a part that can be put on a 4.5" grinder. It is a wood carving tool by Toolmers. I use it to trim wood on my lathe to get it to swing around. Most wood turners have had a pieces that just catches on the bed and will not turn this tool is a quick and easy way to trim the wood with out taking it off the lathe. Candy Bowl Oak dried for 20 years
Переглядів 514 роки тому
With the help of Total Boat 3:1 thick resin and Starbond CA glue, this candy bowl was a real joy to make. With the age of drying for 20 years, it did have some very large cracks that got worse as I turned the wood. With the challenges that face me and the problems with my lathe it was exciting and difficult to finish the bowl. Please watch as I go through the process of making this piece of woo...

هل يمكنك أن تبعث لي واحدا من هذا مع شكر
Not sure what you are saying I can't translate it. Thank you for commenting I'll take it as a positive comment.
Are you talking about my t-shirt?
Hay I am a home distiller, and I have been thinking about trying to make some tapered oak lids for mason jars for ageing alcohol, barrels are way to expensive .and in a comment section I saw heaps of people thinking the same things, it's a good idea making tapered lids that go inside the jar so you can char the inside,I am going to try with some English oak that had come down in a storm which I can take a bit of ,all I have is hand tools so I will rasp and saw them out ,sand them a bit so they fit nice with a good section inside the jar with holes drilled in a little way to maximize char area ,I'll put bees wax around the part that touches jar rim to make it kinda water tight and so if the wood expands it will push out the wax and not break the jar , and then lie it down so it gets the same airflow effects as a barrel. Someone with the right equipment and marketing could make alot of money, send a few to home distilling channels on UA-cam to see what they think and to get the word out ,stillin the clear, stillin old-school, moonshiner mafia,if you're in the states ,and there's many more and for what they would cost to make and how much you could undercut barrels, once you got the word out and a few people using them, you could make a killing
My email address is jeff@cheveswoodworks.com would like to talk more.
Good looking tops.
Thank you for reply....and thank you for watching the video. I hope to get back on to it and do the legs for it stay tuned for what's taking me so long to even get back to the wood shop.
I would cut out the small circles first. Because then the saw blade would be away from my new ones. It wouldn't be so dangerous then!--Én a kis köröket vágnám ki először. Mert akkor az újaimtól távol lenne a fűrésszalag. Nem lenne akkor ennyire balesetveszélyes!
Sounds like a plan I will try that next time. Thanks for the comment.
Nicely done. I like that lid shape. :)
Thank you I am planning to get back out in the shop doing some more stuff I have back surgery in October which is probably going to slow things down again I had brain surgery in June of this year. Your comment does help push me to figure out how to get out there and get some things done thank you very much.
I did, thanks for sharing!
Sorry it is taking me so long to get back to this comment even to get back to anything dealing with woodworking but I'm fixing to come out with a new video soon and I'll try to explain what's taking me so long.
I didn’t know Billy Bob Thornton was a wood turner...lol
Yep thanks for watching my video and responding I'm going to come out with a new video very soon and try to explain why it's taking me so long to get back to the wood shop.

Thank you for watching and your comment
The music is ok, but gets annoying after a while and makes me want to turn my volume off. I would much rather hear you explaining this or just telling a little story or something...
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
I LOVE this project!! Great problem-solving, and so satisfying to watch it come together!
I'm glad you like the video I try to be as clear as I can. Unfortunately there's a lot of things that do get cut out, but I can't put everything in there it would be very long. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Better than the paper. I think using the dowel and cutting the small circles for numbers is good.
Thank you for watching
