Together, let's fine-tune this Flood Analysis map of Garissa Town as Classified Using ArcGIS Pro 3.3
In the last few weeks of April and May 2024, severe flooding has impacted various regions of the world. Kenya experienced significant flooding in Nairobi, Nakuru, and Garissa Counties, leading to loss of lives, extensive damages, and displacement of people and animals. Similarly, Brazil faced devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul, affecting the state and adjacent cities.
To address these challenges, I conducted an analysis to classify satellite imagery and identify flooded areas in Garissa County, specifically near the Garissa-Dadaab Road crossing of the Tana River. Using Sentinel-2 Level-2A imagery, I employed ArcGIS Pro to compare pre- and post-flood satellite imageries. By utilizing specific spectral bands, I generated composite images and applied thresholding techniques to distinguish water from non-water pixels. This process allowed me to create a confidence raster and pinpoint newly inundated areas. This workflow is important for effective flood management and response strategies.

Wow. Wonderful poem. Kudos TKM.

not working with gis enterprise or gis online.
I've done this before and works just fine. But when I share a project, the other user have to use the same file path in order to view the photos in the popup, is there a way to set a relative folder to allow anoter user to copy the project and images (preserving the folder project structure) but using his own path (storing the project wherever he wants)?
How did you add the file paths for all the features? Is there a tool for that or did you type them in one by one?
Do you mean adding them all in the attribute table? If yes, I assumed to have all the files under one folder in your machine, and then, if you don't have the field already, create one (of text type), and use the Calculate Field Tool to populate the new field using the path to your files. You'd be able to populate the path for all the fields using the method. This is the easiest of the methods. Does it make sense to you? Let me know!
@@thekalabashmosaics hmm I think so. You’re calculating the path file? Maybe a video on this would help?
@@thekalabashmosaics I do not understand how to get the path to my files. Can you share more detailed steps?
I ♥️ it
Ay bruh when I try this I get "TimeoutError: [WinError 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time" I'm guessing some ports are blocked by the firewall, do you know which ports this uses?
These instructions did not work.
what part did you have an issue with? Are you making a POST or GET request? Alternatively, you can follow this approach - ua-cam.com/video/lsfNzEx3ceE/v-deo.html
@@thekalabashmosaics I've tried as a POST request. It will not allow me to include the username and password in the query string. Ok, I'll try in Python, thanks.
Finally figured out how to get it to work. Looking back, your video skips some steps and makes a few assumptions, but once I sorted those out, it worked.
@@JimBarryYo, I am glad to hear that you did make it work for you. I'll make things to detail every step in the future.
@Nick Creedon . hi. put username and password in the body. not in the header fields. jsut select Body then Form-Data and add key username then add key password and fill the values
Thank you very much for this excellent clarification, however, I would like to add a VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Userneame in the post URL is CASE SENSITIVE! despite it is not elsewhere, so be sure to add it as you typed it when subscribed.
thank-you for the highlight there, very much appreciated.
Great video! Any idea why after this process is completed the link doesnt do anything when I click it. It is blue and seems to be clickable but doesnot go anywhere
I appreciate it. Have you followed the syntax to construct the path link to the resource that you need to access? To access a document, image, or item which is resting on the cloud or locally in your machine, you'd follow the approach as discussed in the tutorial. You need to ensure that you have a field attribute that carries the URLs of the items that are hosted online or on your machine. Using that field(s), use the syntax as in 4:53 ("<a href= "+ "'"+ !Path! + "'>"+ !Name! + "</a>") and replace with your field names for !Path! and !Name! Good luck!
Thank you so much! Such a simple solution this really saved me! The only thing is that I had to change POST to GET, no idea why, thank you!
Hey Malika, I am glad that this helped you to get things working on your end.

@@thekalabashmosaics Hi. I am new to all of this but your video provided great guidance. When I type the syntax, I replaced the !Path! with the hyperlink to where my photos are stored. I replace the !Name! with the attribute field name. I am getting errors and not sure what to do next. Any help would be great.
Hello@@tobeornottobe6797. Thanks for reaching out - have you tried the following when constructing your file path link: ”<a href = ” + ”'”+ !Path! + !Name! + "</a>” Please let me know if that doesn't work when you replace !Path! and !Name! with your specific values. See 5:33 minute in the tutorial ☺️😊
@@thekalabashmosaics Going to give it another shot. Thanks again!
What is the bird that sings at the beginning of the video?
Yeah Amazing.
For the softer call with more syllables, it’s an emerald-spotted wood dove. For the harsher coos, that’s a Cape turtle dove.

Hi Todd! I very much appreciate your feedback. I have worked on that for a great experience to anyone following along with the tutorials I post. Again, thanks very much for your constructive feedback. Thanks! One note under this comment, if you turn the viewing resolution to 1080 on the video settings, you might be able to see it on a higher resolution. May be you can try that? Thanks
@@thekalabashmosaics Indeed! Switching to 1080 did help a lot. I've never needed to do that before, but will try to remember that as an option. Thx.
Thanks @@toddturner2715. I understand that it should pick your default screen view resolution. Again, I am appreciative of your support. Peace!
Hi how can i link a hyperlink to a specific web document based on a field. For example i have a field called document number and based on that number i want the url to get me to the document
Hello, sure - to access a document, image, or item which is resting on the cloud, you'd follow the same approach as discussed in the tutorial. You need to ensure that you have a field attribute that carries your URLs of the items that are hosted online. Using that field(s), use the same syntax as in 4:53 ("<a href= "+ "'"+ !Path! + "'>"+ !Name! + "</a>") and replace with your field names for !Path! and !Name!. Makes sense?
This is Great, an aspect that has been troubling me in Web maps... Does the same syntax work to configure similar attributed for interactive web maps. and will shutting down the PC containing the file directories for the attributes configured affect their use by other users on the consumer end?
Thank you Sir! That's a great question - I will be covering the same issue now on Online/Web Maps. This one works only locally (in your ArcGIS pro software) since the paths are referenced locally in your machine. However, if you have links of your PDFs hosted online or on the cloud, the same workflow (with a few tweaks) will still be applicable. Let me know if you have a question. I appreciate that you learned something from this one.
@@thekalabashmosaics Hi were you able to ever make a video covering the pdf links when using ArcGIS Online/Web Maps?

Myths are the truth.
Thank you. Kikuyu are know as Kabiru meaning Hebrews. This are the real acient Hebrews. The Bible refer to them as daughters of zion, God chosen Generation.Zephaniah 3 10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, The daughter of My dispersed ones, Shall bring My offering.
Thayuini _Zion
Origin myths: Kikuyus: Originated from Mukurwe wa nyagathanga, created by Ngai (God). They had 9 daughters, Ngai miraculously provided 9 husbands for them. Merus: Originated from Mbwaa, created by their god (Mukunga) their God had a wife (Ngaa) Kambas: Created by Ngai (god) their clans came from anthills. Embus: Originated from mwenendaga grove, near Runyenjes town Facts: Though they differ slightly, their languages are remarkably similar. Their customs, physical appearance and genetic makeup indicate a common ancestry. I't's enough for anyone to see that those stories of origin are just myths. The kikuyus are part of the Eastern Bantus, and there is overwhelming evidence in support of this. All humans are related and share a common ancestry in Africa around 100,000 years ago. It doesn't matter what religious or cultural beliefs people have, but science has firmly established these facts.

@@paulkamau8851 why did you let them colonise your mind again? Ngai is Ngai, not hebrew or israelite, we are of Mumbi and thats that.
@@ciku2415God is one. What you don't know is that, the Bible was written by black people in Africa.
@@ciku2415 Ngai is maasai does it mean ur also colonized . Whats wrong or deficient with Murungu why desert Him. Ngai created maa(the original people)and their lovely animals from heaven and made them a bridge or a portal to descent on earth. Ngai doesn't hang around mt kirinyaga and nyagathanga He is everwhere and can be invoked anytime. Ngai is not a tribal chief god or a territorial mountain spirit. Ngai is creator of all and the maa people have no problem with other community invoking his name. You have a beautiful song for the nine daughters , what about the miraculous boys who appeared and married the beautiful girls? Could this miraculous handsome herdsboys be maasai who had descent from heaven ? Can we know the names of this boys and why the names cannot be used as clan identity? Were the boys used secretly to impregnate the daughter and then hidden from history. The modern Gikuyu boy child is asking why the father of the clan is missing, could the father be a neighbor maasai or ndorobo? The beautiful kikuyu lady singing clearly show the hallmarks of maasai genetics.
