Not wood. Particle board. But happily repairable. Sorry it was dinged.😢🤷🇨🇦 Buy a rubber coated mallet. Wider and better for pounding without smaller head damage. Works really well. Good to invest in if you like assembling furniture which usually requires hammering stuff. Just old gals advice.👍 Also electric screwdriver hun. Save yourself time and frustration while assembling.

It depends on what you want to do on it ^^ if you need it for school I think the air would do but if you want to do heavier work on it, I‘d go for the pro one
