Bro I regret watching this anime the trauma it gave me 😭

In s3 when eren and jean argues, mikasa didn't act and left them alone, even Armin asked her if she was going to do smt about it, she said no. In the manga Eren asked her specifically to interfere, she told him to blame himself for starting it. This is probably the best time and only time she shows that she can stay away from him, until in season 4 when she says she wants to stop him and the rumbling. Nevertheless, although she isn't my favourite character, I'm happy that she at least interacts with other characters as well, such as armin, annie, historia, sasha, levi and hange. I think she should be more of a side character rather than another main one, considerating the fact that she is a simple character that isn't deeply involved in the narrative.

How could you not mention the extreme bullying that lead to Rudeus being a hikikomori. He became withdrawn because all the abuse he experience in high school. At one point they stripped him naked and tied him up at the front of the school. The trauma was so bad it carried into the next life. It took a lot for Rudeus to face his trauma and to leave his home.

Mushoku tensei isn't about Rudeus becoming a good person, it's about him getting to be a person at all, something he had taken away in his past life. He has friends, a family, a job, a goal, people rely on him, he has enemies, he has flaws. He thought he was an adult in a child's body, but he really only had two childhoods and twenty years of the inside of his room.

"Unbridled ambition" in Tanya's case is that she wants a cushy job where she can earn money in peace. Her constant pursuit of power has nothing to do with control really but avoiding death. Her real issue is that she is single-minded and does not consider alternative routes, she wants to climb the ranks of the military because she considers her chances as a war orphan without family connections in the civilian sector negligible and within the military the best jobs in her eyes, the well-paid office jobs are only given to the highest ranking strategists. Another flaw is her lacking empathy but not because of her ruthlessness rather her inability to consider how others view her. She is highly intelligent, she knows how people work on a fundamental, logical level but she cannot understand how their emotions work and whilst her façade of an ideal soldier works to a point, it also terrifies most people around her. Also the reason I say her empathy is lacking and not non-existent is because over the story she does start bonding with her troops really slowly. I think this bond with her troops is what will ultimately change her perspective, not Being X's corruption of her mind (every time she prays to use her computation gem also corrupts her mind, for mages, using the gem is like getting high, it has mind-altering properties, read the manga). I think she'll end up dying as a saint but also proving Being X wrong (who actually is an archangel, not God, but won't spoil the whole thing, again, read the manga).

I'd vote Johan Leibert from monster for the best characterization of a psychopath personally.

Psychopaths experience inordinate fear, possibly because of severe childhood abuse. As a result they would never do anything which resembles self-sacrifice. Tanya is a classic determinist; she works within the rules of society in order to benefit her/him, which can include self-sacrifice, hard work and all the typical attributes of an alpha man/woman. A true psychopath would grovel and worship god, when he appeared, in order to benefit himself and possible be reincarnated into a better situation. There is no conclusive evidence Tanya is a psychopath, but as click bait it’s a good word to place in the title.

If i recall correctly in the first or second episode he (while he was still in modern day japan) states that he's a sociopath or at least that he think he is (i remember something about not having empathy), so if we consider thst probably he kept the brain/personality after the reincarnation, i can see her having those same traits already within her, i'm not contesting that trauma can change people, i'm just saying that the "sociopathy" have been reinforced, not created there

It's really unfortunate but I seriously doubt we'll get any more of the anime. The LNs went a different path from how the anime concentrated on the relationship between Tanya and Being X, centering around the differences of ideology and the defiance and competition of and for power between the two as being the existential conflict between the two. If Tanya loses, she goes to hell, but if Being X loses, it risks being erased from existence by being forgotten. The LN in turn, mostly forgets this conflict in favour of concentrating on Tanya's war life, to the point that Being X has essentially forgotten about Tanya, and she only occasionally mentions him as a curse, but they otherwise pretty much never interact with each other directly after the first few volumes. At least as far as I read (vol8). Tanya's still as sociopathic as usual and continues to prove that sanity doesn't have a place on the battlefield even if rules still do.

the "Trauma" is X fault too.. everytime she prays.. X messes with her brain to influence her... it's a lot more in the LN and later on.. and she gets a lot more friends... Specially the 2 generals... they get closer.. and even the guy what's always against her... when he becomes the leader of Salamander he starts to see it more her way.

Good video! The background music is a bit too loud though I do have a question, because to me Momo doesn't care about public perception at all. It seems to me that her reaction during that scene was a childish response to Okarun's earlier abrasive comments and simply just stubbornness since she couldn't handle the new feelings she felt for him. She had no problems talking to him before and "public perception" of her and Okarun's relationship was mostly positive! Most likely because Momo surrounds herself with good, nonjudgemental people in general

Traumatic experiences? In the books she only fears 1 thing. STARVING TO DEATH. She is malnourished, small and carries a potato with her everywhere because she is afraid she will STARVING TO DEATH. She joined the army because her options were STARVING TO DEATH or joining the army for food. She doesn't lack empathy, she will do everything to make sure her men survive and that means getting rid of those that would get them killed in war.
