    You state constantly that Dunkerly’s equation is empirical. It is not, it has a theoretical basis. Empirical means it was found by observation or test without any background derivation. A brief knowledge of where it comes from helps understand what it is about. That is better than just using it by rote.

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses
      @mechanicalonlineclasses 11 днів тому

      Any result is accepted for practical use only after experimental validation and the outcomes mentioned here have both theoretical and experimental basis. So, yeah, it is empirical too.

    the concept of tangential force Ft mentioned here is not entirely correct. At the contact point, there will only be a normal force and frictional force. No Ft will be there.

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses

      Tangential force is inevitably there which can be found at any point including contact point.

    Hi. I am starting to learn about LPP. I have read some papers and they, just like you, assume that x must be non negative in order to be feasible. Maybe I am confusing terminologies, but since practical problems admits negative solutions and range for x, for example, -2<=x<=2, is it not too restrictive the condition x>=0? How do you address more general problems? Regards

      @mechanicalonlineclasses 7 місяців тому

      Hi If you get into other videos from the playlist of 'operations research' of this channel, you can get more insights on the topic related to your question. Pls go through artificial variable techniques videos or simplex videos to know how to solve a more generalized problem.

    If you brake a car with a weight distribution of 600kg and 400kg and the load moves forward by more than 100kg, can the actual tire grip be the same as that of a car with a 5:5 weight distribution at rest?

    Sir ye derive an expression to find out torque on crank considering the mass of slider as m using technique of inertia force analysis.... Ke liye bhi applicable hai kya

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses
      @mechanicalonlineclasses Рік тому

      Torque is found in terms of tangential force which is in turn found using piston effort. Piston effort is found using slider inertia which in turn depends on slider mass.

    Ma'am, If a slack variable is non zero in the optimal solution, is it called as basic variable then?

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses
      @mechanicalonlineclasses Рік тому

      We have two types of variables, viz., basic variables and non basic variables. All Non basic variables are of zero value. Remaining are basic variables whether they're decision variables or slack variables. Basic variables are those which are part of basic solution whether they have a zero value or not in the optimal solution. So, the answer for your question is: YES.

    Ma'am, is the deflection calculation(y) in this same as tht of Dunkerley?

    • @mechanicalonlineclasses
      @mechanicalonlineclasses 2 роки тому

      No. Rayleigh method gives more accurate results than Dunkerley because of the different equations used in finding deflections. In Reyleigh, the deflection at a specific mass location considers the deflections due to all the masses on the system. Deflections used in Dunkerly are those caused by each single mass (eg removing all other masses during calculations)
