If you'd seen his game against the Skins in 1991 you'd be shocked he became what he did. 56-17 lost but this is the birth of a legend
A legend is born!!!!!
Was Rison the first guy allowed to wear 84 after Sharpe's forced retirement? I remember a lot of talk of retiring the number at the time, but Rison was at least a worthy recipient. Rison came in to replace Brooks, but imagine what Favre could've done with a healthy Sharpe and Rison on the same roster.
Brett looked so happy.
Oh those Detroit Lions
LOVED ROBERT BROOKS! didn't remember that GAF on the kickoff. Whoops.
Freeman was my favorite when I was a kid.
Laser shot to Freeman down the left sideline. I'll never forget this play.
That patriots secondary was really good smith law Malloy and clay, built and coached by parcels and bilichick, it’s a testament of how good Favre and the packers offense was in 96 to light that unit up the way they did
Hard to believe that this is the last time we’ve had a home nfc championship victory.
Damn. The ball tracking from Levens before the catch is amazing. Remember this is a RB not a WR.
Man the Packers from the mid 90s offense was lethal. Imagine taking 5 mins to score and Brett Favre just throwing bombs for TD to score in a few seconds. There was a playoff game that the Packers won where the average possession per drive was under 2 minutes.
Love Ron Wolf's demeanor in the press box @4:35. Yup, knew it all along.
Dude was wild
Lol WTF
I grew up being ride or die for this duo
@ 1:01 29 years of built of frustration let loose
Who needs Viagra when you have this?
Great moment! I was sitting in that corner of the end zone. Hard to believe this was 28 years ago and we haven’t had another nfc championship game victory at Lambeau. Hopefully the Love years provide a few
Those announcers totally dogging Farve till bam he scores!
Ahh the good old days! Oh wait it’s about to get really good again. Go Pack Go!
Maybe Favre wasn't the best, but he was the most fun by a mile. Favre and Driver were great to watch.
Brett Lorenzo Favre!😌
Freeman is a vastly underrated receiver.
The safety should've stayed back
This team was so fun to watch
Love this. Also Merton Hanks one of the greatest random celebrations of all time
I wonder if Majkowski knew his career in GB was over after this game?
If the Bengals received royalties from all the other team's highlight films, they could buy any player they wanted.
First play lol 😆
Wasn’t enough. A COWBOYS fan.
Back when it was common for backup QBs to hold for FGs and PATs. IIRC, Favre was not great at it. When he became the starter, he was thankfully relieved of that job.
Where it all started
Brett favre to andre rison 1991 Atlanta falcons ( what If Brett favre stay un Atlanta
Brooks was incredible. I'm glad I got to watch him in his prime!
He was amazing.
That's my favorite game of all time!
Dude did the Lambeau leap without using his hands. That wall has to be 6 feet tall.
I remember watching this game!! Born and raised a Packers fan! We had four deities in our house when I was a kid back in the sixties: God, Jesus Christ, Vince Lombardi and General Patton. There order of importance could change from time to time especially on a Packers Sunday or an evening when the movie Patton was on TV - Patton being my Dad's old boss in WWII. I've been to many a game and watch the Packers religiously. Not interested in baseball, basketball, racing or watching the 49'ers play the Vikings, just Packer football!! I remember back in the late 1960's, my Dad taking the whole family to Lambeau Field and picking up Packers pennants and a plastic molded Packers helmet that ended up being hung up in our bedroom. Lived through the glory of the 60's, the mid 90's, 2010's and now we will have to see what happens with Jordan Love!!
I remember that game! It was awesome to be a Packer fan back then!
You can say this game really changed the courses of both franchises. The Bengals were 2-0 and were doing really well. The knocked out Magik and had this unproven back up called Brett Favor I mean Favre. The Packers were 0-2 and going on 0-3 if they had lost this game. It would have just been another mediocre year like in 1991 where they fell off a cliff. The Bengals were terrible at 3-13 the year before. With new coaches Dave Shula for the Bengals and Mike Holmgren this was it. That last Packer drive showed that Favre was going to be an up and comer. The Bengals just collapsed after this game. They would only win 3 more games and lose their next 11 counting this game. They would lose 5 straight games including this game. The Packers on the other hand would finish the season 9-7 and miss out on the playoffs, but they were heading in the right direction. The Bengals would be the Bungals up until 2005 where they finally had a winning record. It wasn't until 2021 when the Bengals that they finally won a playoff game and made to a Super Bowl.
I remember that. We had some friends over, borrowed a projector and screen from my work and watched the game in life-size. Awesome evening, since we couldn't be there. What a play - what a game!
Donald Driver is severely underrated. Even in his last season he was a monster.
I have zero respect for Sapp. What he did to Touscher was criminal.
I think this was the game Dave Bush took a perfect game into the 8th inning. Then Brewers led 8-1 heading into the top of the 9th and gave up 6 runs (most in thanks to a Joe Inglett grand slam) before hanging onto win 8-7
Not a significant thing for Brett Favre. He was blocking a wimpy purple pansy.
Pat Summerall and John Madden
Thought they were talking about JAY Schroeder!
Dorsey the Horsey. He was a monster.
Playoff game?
No. Look at the weather. They did play again that season in the playoffs, and San Fran got the last laugh
@@Raddy2k Rice fumbled the ball.
Both of these teams are so irrelevant in 2024
