I think I might have an idea behind the lore here, during the song we can all the dokies sing, referencing that we (the player) couldn't save them at the end of the game. After finishing the game, the Mc becomes self aware sort like Monika and perhaps gaining her abilities. Pico ending up here, is up to debate.
