Jeep Gladiator - Hood Struts install for Jeep JT/JL
Watch me installing Hood Struts from IAQWE on the Jeep Gladiator. These struts fit all 2018 - 2023 Jeep JT and JL models.
As far as torque settings go, use some common sense. I am guessing 25 lb/ft

Full Install - Xtrusion Overland XTR-3 with AXS on our Jeep Gladiator
Переглядів 3 тис.Рік тому
In this video we describe the full install of the Xtrusion Overland XTR-3 Rack with AXS. This rack is fitted for our Jeep Gladiator in a height of 17 inches. The reason we chose 17 inches is for a planned root top tent. We just don't want it to stick out too far above the roof line. This video might be a bit over-detailed. You can find more videos about Xtrusion Overland at their channel at @Xt...

    When my doors are off the control panel doesn't work at all. Trying to figure out what I did wrong. When the doors are on all of my lights work perfectly.

      I am no electrician by any means (call me a software architect if you have to...), but it sounds like you picked a "bad" ground or 12v line!?!? In case you don't have one, get yourself a cheap electronic tester (*cough* harbor freight *cough*) and check why the 12v or ground wire is compromised. Hard to tell why it would stop working. In my defense, I went straight from the panel to the logic box to the battery. Completely work around the Jeep wiring.

      @TrailsideTalks What your saying makes sense. I just wanted to get a second opinion. To see if it might be a simple fix or more involved. I'll definetly check my ground later on today. I have few months before I pull the doors off. Thank you!!

    Did you need any extension for the pod its self to reach to the bay or did you have enough cord with 10ft they gave

    • @TrailsideTalks
      @TrailsideTalks День тому

      Well... Short answer is NO, no extensions necessary. Long answer, if you can't get 10ft of wire connected to something under the hood from the windshield, something is wrong ;)

    Does the placement of the switch panel limits the range of movement of the sun visor?

    • @TrailsideTalks
      @TrailsideTalks День тому

      First off, sorry for the delay in response. Job and family get in the way sometimes. Ok, back to your question, YES, in my case the placement of the panel limits the range of motion for the sun visor. The good thing is, there are plenty of options for placement, the bad thing, I like things straight (if possible). So... can I fully extend the sun visor with the placement I chose? NO Is the placement perfect for my US/ME, yes! At this point, where you start drilling and hammering at your Jeep, it is up to you what you prefer. I chose easy access, you might choose something else. Either way, there is always a give or take.

      I assume you are talking about the low amp control wire. That would be F52, the cigarette lighter.

    I hear there is a new trend coming... yea.. Dual Snorkels... It is reported this new trend is coming out of Bulgaria... AND.. the IRs is allowing a tax deduction for the installation of Dual Snorkels to combat Climate Change.

    Where did you mount the relay? I didn't catch that on the video

    • @TrailsideTalks
      @TrailsideTalks 7 місяців тому

      To be honest, I did not, yet. Currently just the bright whites are connected. I will have, in the near future, a follow-up video where I connect the other 3 modes to the Auxbeam switch. That will include the addition of a couple relays in order to only allow the same options that the 2 bulky switches allow by design.

    Do the instructions actually require bench assembly complete? Seems more straightforward to get it on the ba Ed asap

    • @TrailsideTalks
      @TrailsideTalks 8 місяців тому

      I chose table/bench assembly since it seem easier to me until all parts are fully lined up and torqued down. Up to that point everything is just a bit wobbly. The fine tuning of the AXS and panels is best done when everything is on the bed.

      Price's are definitely up..... No doubt about it Other than the national inflation index affecting all sector's of our economy..... The Overland Expo Booth prices are up year over year as overlanding becomes more mainstream and popular, also booth insurance ( mandatory) adds to additional costs

      If you install it on your dash, I would go through the firewall as well. There should be plastic grommet on the driver side you can use. I will install, soon, a Midland radio and probably have to route the antenna cable through the firewall as well.
