minimum focus distance which 10 times bigger than focal of lenses its absolutely standard for fixed lenses. 35cm for 35mm lens, 50cm for 50mm lens and 0,85 (85cm) for 85mm, exactly like its Youngnuo. So its totally ok if its not macro lens

Oh yeah , I run Olympus/oms these days and have recently found that the old four thirds lenses on the latest bodies work extremely well and just as fast AF as modern MFT ones , but a quarter of the price ,but my most recent lens is a macro zoom of 50-235 mm reach in the old OM fit . It actually works well and cost me the princely sum on e.bay of £9.99 DELIVERED.beat that one

Lee, if you are looking for a super sharp edge to edge lens, look for a used Sigma 50mm F2.8 Dg macro, you can see some of my images on flicker, Richard Krasicki , Flicker. I manual focus it.

one lens that surprised me positively with its outstanding quality is a lens that i bought just to fill that gap, so to say. i needed a macro lens but didn't have the right budget at the time. i settled for a Tokina 100 2.8 1:1 macro and the results blew me away. it has the same characteristics like your lens. noisy focus and no stabilizer but the results are stunning. nowadays i shoot all my analog stuff with my digicam, a Canon R6 mk2. so this is the lens i use the most.

Sadly, for my unsteady hands, if I'd go Canon EF it'd be optically stabilized lenses only, so none of these wide aperture primes...

Lee. Glad you have an inexpensive way to get your 'mojo' back! I have an older Sigma (Bigma) prime at 24mm. It's a macro too so I can get really close. It is a sharp lens and is a 20 year old design. The colors are flat but on monochrome that's not an issue. I will also say the Irix manual focus full frame lenses are not too expensive. They have what they call "neutrino" coatings and I find the contrast and color really pop. The 150 Irix on crop sensor is really a tight FOV but the pictures are sharp even with a narrow focus zone. Bokeh is pretty too. Cheers!

A few years ago l bought the k-70 new with kit lens 18-50mm & 50-200mm both cover all bases. Then bought an old Sigma 24mm superwide ll which is really sharp for£30. I bought for same price an old pentax 135mm f3.5 and that's great.

It sounds like the original Canon 18-55mm that came with the Canon 300D. I'm glad you showed us this brand. I wondered but I wasn't willing to spend the money.

I have the 50mm lens from Yougnuo. It's OK. I only paid $25 USD. For what it is, it works.

I have just bought the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 and Sigma 50-150mm 2.8 for my Nikon D5500 and Nikon D5600

There's always the lovely Tamron 90mm SP Di f2.8 Macro or the Adaptall f2.5.

I love using my sigma 105mm for the same reason, takes some of the nicest images of people even though it's a macro lens.

I've totally done this. I really like the Pentax 35mm 2.4 and 50mm 1.8 which are both inexpensive. The Tamron 85mm 2.8 Macro is also a nice lens that can be found relatively inexpensively on the used market.

Great video, Since last year I only use the Pentax DA* 50-135mm as a zoom lens. The rest of my kit is the F Series 28mm f2.8, DA 35mm f2.4 and FA 50mm f1.4 what I am using. It is so much fun to use prime lenses, who gives me back a lot of enjoyment in photography.

My first Pentax was the K1000 SE, film, ( 1980 ) now I use the K3 and I'm anxiously waiting for the K1 Mark III. I hope it comes out soon. I think Pentax has no less than the competitor, it should attack the market more. Greetings from Italy.

As far as I know all the major camera manufacturers are or going to focus on Mirrorless cameras because they see them as the future and can't focus on two different types of camera being that the customer base for proper cameras is a lot smaller than what it was 25 or 30 years ago which was the end of the golden years for proper cameras

It is clear and no speculation there that all companies are ditching DSLR, so no surprise there.
