It's funny reading the responses about the lack of a battery grip. I had used grips on EVERY DSLR and then the R5, for the last 20+ years, probably about a dozen of them, and this made it nearly a deal breaker for me as well. Reluctantly, I rented an R7, and I loved it so much (wait... I should say, I loved the "reach" so much) that I bought it. Then I ended up selling my R5 and buying a second R7. Yes, the lack of a grip still bothers me. As does the slow readout speed, and the "not so sticky" AF / EAF. But it is what it is. With reach as my #1 priority, I really feel I don't have any choice. That said, I still believe a LOT of folks who buy the R7 (and probably the R7 Mk II, when it comes out) are buying the wrong camera. If I were shooting pretty much "anything but" small, skittish birds, I'd go with one of the better Full Frame options instead. Edit: didn't realize I had already replied to this video... But not really, as that was a reply to a reply. Anyway, SO anxious for an improved R7 Mk II. Hopefully MUCH improved :) Still loving / hating my R7's :) lol

I was about to get canon R5M2 i waited and waited and waited, and R5M2 has the same 45MP as the R5. It's very disappointing. I was expecting at least 60MP. I am going to wait for this 100MP and see how Sony performs

The R7 was a disaster from the day it was released without the battery grip capabilities as far as I was concerned. with having large hands it was a complete no no I had to buy the R6 with a grip as my 7dmk2 replacement so it R7 mk2 needs a grip if I was to even consider buying it

There is also another element. Will they keep the R10 as a starting point to move to the R7 Mk II? If so, then the R10 Mk II needs to be released first. The buzz around the R10 has died down to crickets. Maybe something in late 20205. If that's the case, then the R7mk. II will follow later the same year. The alternative is the R10 decoupled from the R7 and left on its own for the next several years. Something like what happened to the R50 and R100.

Not much really for photography. Hopefully the 6ii prices will drop.

Adding a global shutter is a huge mistake. That will destroy the dynamic range and add a lot of noise. How is that a step up? This is not a video camera. They should add way better stabilization. Also do in-camera HDR for photos. Most of the time, my phone takes better photos than my A1. The only thing that saves them is the ability to adjust the files much more in post. There are a lot of things they could do; global shutter should not be one of them.

Still happy with the Xpro2 and its lack of IBIS has never been an issue for me, having said that if the Xpro4 was introduced I would take a very close look at it but I have gotten to admire the worn and beaten look of the Xpro2. It takes a lickin and keeps on clickin.
