I did mine side-by-side this year, 2024, and the Kool Kat was much more vibrant, as far as color was concerned.

My Storm Runner was OG too.

This is not worth it. If I'm going to pay a premium for a flashing effect, I might as well waste my money on La Calaca. The ending is so anticlimactic, IMHO.

You are right, costs more than it should. Sold out very quickly though, could not find one. Stands must have done very well this year, saw several empty and closed at 4 in the afternoon of the 4th. And they could stay open until 9.

We had one of these from AZ for $20. I think $30 is bit much for it here at the California stands.

Only the pressed powder on top is whistle mix. The loose stuff on the bottom is something they put to stop people from modifying them is what I was told

Hopefully Phantom listened to the complaints and Storm Runner stays good for as long as Phantom carries it. Great Show, but why was Freedom Star a disappointment this year for you?

Your storm runner looked tall and slimmer meanwhile my storm runner was a bit shorter but wider but I got the good crackle anyways

I found a perfect example for ya of both kinds of rewrapping! ( I know, wrong video, im on my phone...) I got a give away assortment from a locally operated tent, for spending $200. Ironically, it was on their assorted case of fountains, lol. The tray is called Jackpot, and most items have their private label on them, plus a couple Top Gun items, so im guessing thats who actually makes it. Inside are 3 box fountains. White Lightning- which is a Large Friendship; and Wonderful. And The Gold Rush- which are both Golden Flowers rewraps. Wonderful is branded Top Gun, whilt Gold Rush had the Barely Legal Fireworks logo. I've also seen at least 3 different TNT versions, among many others. These are actually labelled for effect. I like both fx- i just wish they'd put MORE of it in the fountains. Of course, then they would no longer be dirt cheap...

holy crap!!!! $17 for a box of cheap HN series base fountains??? Do they at least buy you a drink, first? The Keystone tents by me sell them for a fraction of that... So does virtually every firework store that still sells base fountains. Theyre a good fun time staple item, for itch scratching or daytime fun, but thats about all. Not worth the price of a good multi-tube, thats for sure. I will say that some factories are actually putting in the effort to make these old school base fountains WELL again, and kudos to them. Speaking of hand helds, while I can't tell the size from your photo, Keystone also has a big one called Lightning Rod, which sounds similar- sold as a 4 pak for less than half the pirce of that single bazooka. starts as a firehose of golden sparks lots of them, and a powerful spray, then switches to a big red flare that lasts quite a while. I always grab at least 2 packs at any tent I go to, cuz I'm a geek for hand held items, and these are fun to light. Crown Jewel is $89.99 BOGO at the stores... $99 apiece? that hurts! I've had it and loved it, and still have the second. (several years old, so I don't remember the price) Loved New York Harbor, and Beast as well. I suspect we just have different tastes. I'm more into colors and pretty effects than crackle, and whistles i can do without being randomly included. (by itself, or in a pure noise item, great- especially for that one friend who HATES whistles, lol) I believe I also have Coral Reef, but haven't shot it yet. currently $65 BOGO in the stores. We do not have Freedom or DFS here, so I cannot compare the prices. Totally agree that the prices on your hatie list for them are outrageous tho. I don't shop at the TNT tents here, so nothing to add there.

Do you guys have TNT's These Colors Don't Run? If so, run away!!! ZZZZZZZZ... a 500 gram fountain, that's just a bunch of low powered fountains strung together. Low powered, not much variety, and annoying awkward pauses, make it drag on and on. It doesn't offer anything you probably don't already have in your cart from buying the smaller fountains. (it just costs a lot more) We demo'd it at my friend's annual fireworks demo for their store. Every time she thought it was over, and would begin announcing the next item, it would start up again with another single tube. The next item was another 500g fountain from a local importer/wholesaler/retailer called Kellner's. THIS was more like it! High power sprays with LOTS of effect- it maintained a 12'+ diameter cloud of noise and sparks for it's entire duration. VERY intense! A collection of every kind of crackle the factory made- and lots of it. It got loud cheers from the onlookers- and a lot of people heading to the store to buy it, after. Urban Conflict was the name. It really was like a tale of two schools of thought about what a 500 gram fountain is. More of what fountains already do, vs something greater , that GRABS your attention.

Always interesting to find out which items are copies, or near copies. It's important to note, however, TNT, Phantom, and many others don't MAKE the fireworks- they're importers. And most use the same big Chinese factories. For your Opening Show example, my best guess is that TNT, has some sort of exclusivity deal on that item- and as the biggest importer in the US, they have the buying power. And that's why others don't sell rewraps of it. Mostly, though, the factories just make fireworks. Order enough, and they'll put whatever label you want on it- they don't care, as long as the product moves. They'll also gladly make you custom designed items, or improved versions of existing items. As I mentioned on one of your other rewrap videos, this has everything to do with why it's confusing as hell figuring out what's what! lol. (and that's before you factor in factories copying other factories...) Keep up the good work! It's frustrating finding out AFTER you shopped several different places, that you bought several of the same item- all with different names.

Not bad choices for those times when a low noise fountain is in order. Those can be hard to come by- esp in tents! Here in NY, a LOT of the fountains are full of really loud crackle. To the point of well- I wasn't expecting THAT! Could just be the microphone, but that was fairly low intensity crackle, compared to what I see. (there are so many different kinds of crackle these days...) It makes me wonder if it isn't different state regulations at play. You definitely AREN'T talking out your butt when it comes to rewraps. Most fireworks come from the same factories in China. They make items in big batches, then put whatever label you want on them. You can also get customized versions made to your specs, it just costs a bit more because it has to be fit into the production schedule. Take the ultimate example: TNT's Purple Rain. Same fountain is sold by Phantom as Moondance; by Fireworks Supermarket as Cool- ya gotta say it right!; and also under the Firehawk brand, under I forget the name, lol. Keystone Fireworks also has a version. Firehawk is a Chinese factory brand, all the others are US importer house brands. Even more confusing, many of these factories have several different brands of their own- and factories copy each other, too, lol. (how many different brands/names have we all seen of the giant ice cream cone shaped fountain lately? Winda first sold it as Snow Cone. Now EVERYONE has a version- both US importers AND other Chinese factories. Same for the fish shaped fountain, which I think was either a Brother's or Winda original- I've seen Koi Pond, Bad Bass, and several others.) When Pyro Universe and Pyro Review websites were still around, the forums had numerous threads every year about what was a rewrap of what. It was half the fun of the months leading up to the Fourth! In the above example, those 4 US brands cover most parts of the country- if THEY don't have a store near you, you probably do have a mom n pop that buys some stuff from one or the other of them. If not, then there's a fair chance somebody sells the Chinese branded version.
