Great! 😂
I love it!
Hi there! Thank you for the amazing work! I'd love to know where is this footage originally from. I'd like to quote it and properly credit it in an academic essay. Thank you!
Hi there! We created this video presentation series with Gregory. You can go to our website, www.joy2learn.org for more information. Thanks!
I don't see how anyone can see Gregory Hines work and not smile. What a sincere talent.
Cool, learning the swing version and it is great to see from where it was derived. GH so smooth...
I have it but I never watched the special features.
Take a look at him in Cabin in The Sky. A brilliant performer .
Mr. Hines is referring to Gene's Spanish dance in "Anchors Aweigh." It's awesome.
This is a joy to watch. RIP Gregory you still bring us joy.
Although Gregory Hines thought he fell short of the Nicholas Brothers, he was a wonderful dancer, a versatile actor, and a very appealing man. I liked his movies and his dancing style. Sadly, he was gone too soon.
shocked he didnt make a dig at the style

Love Gregory and Gene! Rest In Peace You Two 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Flamenco also has been around for a long time. I also wonder Where did their tap dance come from?
Wish I could have met this guy. When he did the steps in the movie years ago it just stuck with me. So somehow I ended up teaching myself a little premature tapping as a way to entertain myself but to figure out how they did some of the things with their feet and the shoes 👞 that they did. AMAZING ENTERTAINERS!!!!
How do you know all this? you don't look that old.
Great bloke Gregory here talking about the amazing and incredible Nicholas Brothers. RIP fellas. You all did more than your duty in life with your wonderful dancing
125th street!
This guy is so delusional and self important 😂
I’d like him to name a single prominent fusion band that displayed ‘amateur musicianship’.
He was referencing "amateur musicians" in relation to the musicians from the pop music side of the aisle.
This seems to be the general trend for people who talk about Jelly Roll and Jazz: "he said that he invented jazz, surely that was a bit of an exaggeration.....we think?"
Such an artist. Still greatly missed.
No lions endorse this message
Isn't it funny how so many "uncool" shows did stuff that the hipsters wouldn't find fashionable for another 20 years?
Only folks my age remember how unusual it was to see an American of color on mainstream TV. It was rarely done until around the mid 60s or so when, slowly, it became acceptable. But I still remember what a shock it was to see a black on, say, a TV commercial selling coffee and what not. It would stop conversation in the living room.
I heard after that movie, Fred Astaire was totally intimidated, to dance with her, would never do another movie, with her.
LMAO. what bullshit! you are not a good person to post this kind of drivel. should be ashamed of yourself.
A truly iconic American artist. 👏👏👏
He forgot a little sand on the stage.. 🤣
Agreed. I had the honor of getting to know the spectacular Eleanor Powell personally, and I can vouch for this ! Not only was she an incredible movie star 🌟, but she was also one of the sweetest ladies I've ever had the pleasure of knowing !
You are so special Gregory. Thanks for taking the time to come to Broadway Dance Center to teach. You were so attentive, caring, and loving. You were so encouraging to me, especially when l thought l lost it. Years have gone by and l still today, carry those encouraging words. I wish l would've thought of pulling you aside to pray over you. Your spirit has spoken to me twice. You insisted l keep a promise.l hope to keep that promise. It's been years now & l still can't believe nor imagine you laying in a cemetery. Yet, like Maurice said, "He feels your spirit is still with him." I believe your spirit still goes by the school from time to time. God Bless You!
Miss you! God Bless You. Thanks for your encouraging words! 😪💝
Very hard & upsetting to loose him. Seeing him come to our school at Broadway Dance all the time, taking time out of his schedule, to teach us wasn't only a joy, but a treasure we will always value. God Bless you!
With that talent it’s obvious God has already blessed him.
So tough losing him. My all time favorite performer. We're both lucky we got to see him. I saw him in Jelly's Last Jam at least 3 times, and in a one man show in NJ. Just the most talented charismatic performer ever.
