    I just tried the lotion on a brown paper bag. It works. Nice. Thanks for sharing.

    Try awagami paper. When I first bought that paper and researched it, they suggested dipping it in water with inks or paints and crumple. I put chalk paint in the water and maybe a drop of acrylic. It worked well. Awagami paper works great for this! It will hold up better! This is a cool technique, combining suminagashi with momigami. Thanks for sharing this cool idea!

    I heard from somewhere ( I think Froyle Art) that only certain years work for the National Geographic. Also, temperature and humidity play a huge role. I tried it in winter over a year ago, and it didn't work, but perhaps I'll try again this summer.

      I think you are right about Froyle Art. I've tried all years with no difficulty, but then again National Geo has been around forever. Due to the mess I only create these papers in the summer, so I don't know about the temp and humidity. It's a great point to remember. I make a mess and spread my papers all over the backyard in the summer...LOL! Indoor is not an option.

    I like your " loser" pink and brown one better than the first. I guess it's a matter of preference. Perhaps, I missed it, but what did you add to your water tub aside of the inks, and you said that smaller clear container is "dishwater"- is that water with dish soap? I bought some Kodac photoflow to use and thought of trying methyl cellulose as well. I bought a container, but it's only large enough to fit smaller paper. I'm collecting more information before I start, but it will probably be within the next month.

      @Carry_Your_Message 2 місяці тому

      Haha. I think you're right about the pink and brown one. It is preference. I wanted it to be brighter...LOL! I used a couple drops of Dawn dish soap in a small container with water. I didn't have any Photoflow. I've never used it, but I would love to hear about your experience with it. I've not heard of methylcellulose either. Is it the same as the Carrageenan? I have heard of people using this too. There are so many different ways to do these techniques. Look forward to seeing and hearing about your experiences.

    • @creativepassages
      @creativepassages 2 місяці тому

      @Carry_Your_Message the methyl cellulose is an adhesive that is very safe, flexible, non- toxic, has no oder is archival, etc. It is primarily used in book binding. I am finding that it has a lot of uses for art. It can be used in cooking as well. Maybe I'll make a blog post and video about its uses some day. I'm still learning about it.
