I attended her Dark Christmas concert a week ago, and it's an amazing and very atmospheric experience. Tarja is the founder of Nightwish. However, in 2005 she embarked on a solo career and releases rock and classical albums. Last year, she released her first chill-out electronic music album, Outlanders, which is her side project. Tarja has 3 Christmas albums, two of which are dark like this. She has a complicated relationship with Christmas because her mother passed away just before the holiday. Her first solo album was also a Christmas one, and she said that the music essentially saved her in 2005 after the dramatic breakup with Nightwish. In her solo career, for example, the Supremacy cover from the Woodstock festival in Poland or Victim of Ritual from the same festival. Tarja also did covers for Numb by Linkin Park ua-cam.com/video/QUqBLqBp5WM/v-deo.html and Unforgiven by Metallica. I am thinking that this was the first time you heard Tarja... or heard of her? Tarja Turunen (professionally also known as Tarja) is a Finnish metal and classical singer....I would say her main focus is in metal/rock. She has been a professional singer for almost 3 decades now. Tarja rose to fame with the band Nightwish as their first lead singer in late 90's and early 2000's. After Nightwish she started her solo career in 2005 and is still making music today. She has released 5 rock solo albums so far.. and the in addition all kinds of other projects such as this Dark Christmas album and an electronic music project called Outlanders. I highly recommend reacting to more Tarja. I recommend something from her rock career. It's a song called Victim of Ritual live from Woodstock 2016. Tarja Turunen is the original vocalist in Nightwish, so maybe you should delve into older Nightwish songs, before 2006. Since then she has forged a solo career and done various rock-classical crossover work. I think the track where most people in the "reaction scene" come across her is Nightwish's version of "Phantom of the Opera", so put that on your list.

Have you checked out amazing Dutch Blackbriar and Charlotte (ex Delain)? Also Simone's solo album is very nice, Greetings from the Netherlands.

The only "problem" with this band is that most of their songs were recorded when they were really young (the studio versions) and people prefer to listen to them live because the live versions are more recent and they've grown up so their voices are finally what they meant to sound when they recorded them on the studio. So i would suggest to make an exception for this band and listen to them live unless they remake all their old songs to newer studio versions. However, great reaction, love this band.

Music videos are an art form and some of the videos are really good. Watching them only live is only half the fun. Pau sometimes wonders during live performances why she wanted to sing and drum at the same time because it's so difficult. But she was 6 years old when she started and didn't think about it. She has always done singing and drumming at the same time. Officially Pau is just the background singer, but I don't know anyone else for whom a piano was pushed onto the stage. She is also the creative head of the band and most songs start as a ballad that she plays on the piano. The three of them turn it into a rock number. There were two co-writers on the last album.
