With LSAC shifting your GPA - did they calculate GPA across all of the schools you went to or just your GPA from the school you graduated from?

I heard you mention that you got a scholarship? Was that from the school? Was it based on your gpa/lsat score?
Law school decisions are hard to film live because of rolling admissions, and they tend to spoil it in the email of whether you got in or not. Congrats on your results!

In many Law Schools In addition to essay examination multiple choice questions are part of final examination. This happens because in many States the Bar exam contains Multiple choice questions as well as essay questions.

Hey Brie I love your videos and I am going to be starting my 1L at GWU this August! In your opinion, is there anything you wish you did or knew before starting law school or at GWU specifically? I know its a vague question but just wanted some insight!
Hi, I’m a rising 3L at GW. I would recommend reading “Getting to Maybe” because it puts the law school exam into perspective and gives a lot of tips as to how to approach it. Because a majority of your grades are going to come just from the final, I would say that from the very beginning work with that in mind. Work on your outlines throughout the semester and by the time reading period comes around your outlines should be done or close to done. So, when reading period arrives you can focus on studying and memorizing and taking practice exams. Many people don’t start their outlines until too late and spend reading period preparing an outline! Check if your casebook is keyed to a commercial outline because if it is keyed to a specific commercial outline you should definitely get it. Cold calls shouldn’t worry you too much! Always start out with a good recitation of the facts and then the procedural history during a cold call. Professors usually want you to tell the “story” of the case. Always go to class! A lot of the important information comes from the class discussion. I take notes on my laptop because I can’t write fast enough to get down all the information so choose what works for you. Note taking in class is important because that is the information you will turn into an outline. Don’t worry about joining too many clubs 1L because they can suck up time when you should be focusing on your grades because OCI is after the summer of 1L! I would say find one club you really like and stick with that one. Most importantly, stay calm and work steadily. The old saying of it is a marathon and not a race is so true! Start off strong by doing your readings and starting those memos for legal writing well in advance. 1L grades are very important so it can seem competitive but focus on yourself and have faith! Good luck and hope 1L goes well for you!! 🍀

I cannot thank you enough for all this information 🙏 I'm really excited to start and excited to be going to a top 30 law school but I know now is not the time to take my foot off the gas I need to start preparing myself. All these tips you gave are super useful!!! I have one more question- I saw on reddit some people suggested practicing your memorization skills and ability to read quickly before the semester starts- do you personally think these are worth my time or no?
@@lacroix9697 and I am certainly going to try out that book!
@@ephedra443 in my experience, you actually have to read somewhat slowly 1L because you will often be writing a case brief while reading a case. So, practicing reading fast doesn’t make much sense to me. The time you have to read king of quickly is during an exam and pick out relevant facts. As for memorization skills, i never worried about it and simply made flash cards to memorize. But if you think these two areas are your weaknesses, then they are certainly worth working on. It’s better to have a relaxing summer before 1L in my opinion.
