My dog was like that too when he was a puppy. He'd whine and whine and whine for as long as necessary until I went to keep him company and then would stop immediately. I'd then sneak away as soon as he went back to sleep, just for me to start hearing whining again not even 15 minutes after, so I'd go keep him company again, and so on and so forth. It was like this for the first week or two. After that, once he fell fully safe, I guess, he slept by himself throughout the night, no problem, which made me kind of sad, not going to lie. I felt I was no longer needed. Lol. Nah, just kidding, it felt great to know that his anxiety had lessened and that everyone was finally able to sleep comfortably. He also had a weird fixation with wires and would chew through any cable in a heartbeat if we weren't paying close attention at all times. He damaged multiple electronic devices and sleepers in the process. Hehehe. Also, if he had to stay home alone, our neighbors would tell us he cried non-stop the entire time we were away. That was tough. Thankfully, this didn't last too long. I'd say the first few months are definitely super taxing, but what you get in return is the most loyal of friends for life, so all the sacrifices are beyond worth it. 😊
