I could get lost in that place. I have always enjoyed looking through old records, and have collected them for years. Still got boxes and boxes of 45s. In this area, (RI), we had several independent record stores (not the Mall type) which sold old, used records and had 100s of thousands of 45s, but nothing like this. If you're from the Providence area, you may remember Luke's Record Exchange. If he didn't have it in stock, he could get it for you. Also legendary for collectors was Moffet's downtown, and Ladd's Music. They're all gone, and if I wanted to resume collecting, there is no place left to go except Ebay, and R&B Records. Unfortunately, I can't remember the last time I ever played any of those records, and 45s did not have the best audio quality. It's easier, and sounds better, to play the mp3. But, unlike a computer file, records had not only collectible value, but an identity. Record collecting seems to have become a lost art, and I appreciate you keeping it alive.
Reed jobs brother happy new year 2025

Well, Val, too bad I'm on the other end of the state (near Jerry's Records) or I'd love to work at your store and sort all that stuff out! I've got over 62,000 in my own collection. Everything I have is sorted via label and then record number. and listed on my computer. I've been collecting since I was 2! (You were 3, at the time.) I also used to buy records for my friends. Almost every day, I'd come home from school, jump on my bike and ride 4 miles to hit several record shops! Record Rama, Eide's (across the street), K-Mart (around the corner another mile) (it had a fairly large record section) and N&S (up on the hill another 2 miles from K-Mart). Eide's & Jerry's are the only two left and both guys just died about a year ago. You COULD always ship me a truckload of stuff and I'll sort them, list them, if you want and ship `em back.
I like your videos at your store I'm giving angelo Pompeo stories about me and Louie and some disastrous trips you know how Louie is angelo loves these stories
HVAC school graduated in 97
Brother Beautiful bhaiya cute
"Reed is a lot like his father, except he has his mother's kindness.", What a slap in his dad's face! 😂
My Father graduated from this school and worked at RCA in Camden NJ.
RJ was so cool
I’m reading a book about American Bandstand and just learned that after Bob Horn, Bandstand’s original host, was forced to step down due to his chasing some of the underage female dancers, Tony Mammarella was asked to step in. He reign as host, unfortunately, was short lived due to the higher ups’ prejudice against Italians. I thought everybody loved Italians, except maybe the Irish.
In the mid-'60's my friends and I regularly listened to the folk show on WPWT (91.7 FM) before we became obsessed with R&R. I wonder who else remembers that station and that show?
My Dad (WWII) and Uncle (Korea) both used the GI Bill to attend the PWTI. They had lifetime careers in TV-Radio repair.
Trash that old mess
I like to see boxes of 45's just thrown and piled everywhere... and each 45 only 50¢ like the flea markets that are close by here.. I don't like organized 45's on shelves and shit
what a mess!...🤡...just kiddin' Val (the only one who knows where most of it is)...i always enjoy his tours...truly the Fort Knox of vinyl...i'll take some of those oddball Garage spinners that you don't want...you're the Saint of Sounds, blessings...🎸🎷🎶
Imagine if this place caught fire.
Oh my god this place is where records go to die. It’s a mess, look at how it’s all stored! He has piles of records stacked on the floor for cats to piss on, and the shit on the shelves are just crammed together. All of this is awful for the records. Awful.
You love records, but hate albums? So you’re a hoarder of 45’s.
I attended from 1967 to 1969. A few years ago, I walked past the building and the school wasn't there any more.
I am missing you so much Ron as I really enjoyed working with you when our radio shows aired back to back some years ago. But my happiest times with you were when we regularly met by chance at the Acme Supermarket. I would always ask the cashier "Do you know who that man you just checked out is?" Most every cashier would say no but when I brought out my photograph of Ron when he did Disco USA from my purse, every cashier would produce huge smiles of their wonderful memories of watching Ron on TV and enjoying the music and dancing he brought to his show. God bless you Ron and your wonderful wife Robin. Valerie Morrison - Psychic Medium
Rest in Peace RJ
RJ was a great guy! I watched his show in the 70's and then we became friends along with our wives after a chance meeting a few years back. We enjoyed all his stories. I look back fondly at these clips. Rest in peace RJ! Ron.
RIP - Uncle Ronnie - 04-24-2022 I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers RJ. Ronald Joseph Caponigro Derek
You just don't throw records away..
never heard of her and she's not that good
Those greasy paws eating that sandwich and touching the the record sleeves.. Come on Dude !!🙄
Crazy Love by The Royaltones
It's a shame that first record wasn't Crazy Live by The Royalties or The Wind by The Diablos.
Good thing the guy wasn't asking for copies of the Delites "Lover"at $1500 a shot.Or the Moonglows or the Flamingos on Chance!!
The song you hear when you walk in:Keep a Knockin'but cha can't come in!!
Muitos discos, mas uma puta bagunça do cacete, além disso muito caro, com preços totalmente fora da realidade. Vai ficar para a próxima geração de arqueólogos descobrir enterrado em algum lugar dos EUA.
This guy is a trip. Love it. Does the guy ever actually listen to anything? He didn't seem to have music playing and his man Chucky seemed to disappear quickly. That fucker figured that shit out early. He certainly wasn't in charge of catalogs. Jeebus Christmas. I hope his neighbors have their fire insurance payed up. If that place went up it would be like a coal mine fire. Gawd forbid.
This dude also says he hates albums. Wtf. I feel like he doesn’t love music, he just loves hoarding very specific shit. Also he has records just strewn about on the floor for cats to piss on??? He has them all stacked on top of one another feet high and has the gall to bitch about the place being a disaster? He doesn’t even know what he has!!! He’s a hoarder, absolutely.
I wonder who made all of the shelving in the store...? Amazing!
Best quote in this video, "people put a lot of work into this stuff". Val is spot on!!!
Exactly, which is why it’s a shame that his hoard is in the shape it is in. A lot of those records are probably ruined or warped or at least not in the condition they should be in. Christ, he has tons of records he doesn’t even know he has.
@@TheMindIlluminated Yes Talio..... one needs space and a system to run a good store. Check out ...... Jerry's Records in Pittsburgh..... they have both.... and lots of records.....
these dudes were trade!
"Canada if you call that a country" GOLD.
I lived in Upper Darby for 20 years, and I sometimes walked by that store. But those signs on the door shows that he really means business.
can i apply for the cleaning job?
Collectors appreciate their collections ,take care of it ,respect the fruits of their labor !! Hoarders just stash, bash ,and crash with reckless abandon !! Guess what one he is ??? Not a Fan !!
Loved Going to the old store years ago.Ted Spadea
Good to see Joe... I was Joe's keyboard player for several years as we performed in the NJ, Pa area.
How is Ron doing today??
Ron got married?? WHEN?? Wow!!!
I love this!!! I hope Ron Joseph was baptized too!!!
Holy cow! I knew Ron very well back in the day.. he remembers me as ‘Savats’. I hope he’s doing well. I’d love to talk to him again
Amazing video !
Great memories! Use to love it, went once!
