In Luke 1:48, Mary herself says, 'From now on, all generations will call me blessed,' which reflects the honor given to her. Praying for her intercession is similar to asking a friend to pray for us; we believe that her closeness to Jesus makes her prayers particularly powerful. The honor given to Mary always points us back to Christ, her Son, who is the center of our faith.
