Movement is life, Stagnation is death.
Taiji Chuan (Tai Chi Chuan) has been around for almost 900 years and Qigong has been with us for 3-5,000 years! Why have these practices endured the test of time? What makes them so unique and how can they possibly be relevant in our ever changing, modern world? Simply stated they remain with us because they work, they endure because, as moderns, we can learn and benefit from their truths the same way our ancestors did.
Skee has been studying Taiji Ch'uan and Qigong for over 19 years and is a certified instructor specializing in Yang style Taiji Ch’uan. He has trained under Grand Masters Carl Totton (Taoist Institute of Los Angeles), Ho Sik Pak, David L. Reed and Darryl Khalid. He also holds a 4th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do karate as well as a B.A in fine art and an M.A. in the History of Religion.

I have watched many 胯 video before , but I still mistaken hip as kua until today. Thanks for the clarification 👍
My pleasure! Glad it helped. There’s so much fuzzy info floating around out there. 😉
I liked😊
Thank you 🙏🏻 😊
So Good. I liked😊
Excellent! Glad u liked it. 👍😊
Thank you so much Skee for uploading this video. This will be immensely helpful, on my journey ,to get lower in “Snakes Creeps Down” Do you recommend doing these stretches daily ? Thank you and MANY BLESSINGS.
Hi, so glad it was helpful! Well do it as much as makes sense to you in your life. If you go to the gym a couple times a week then maybe you can integrate this practice into your workout. We definitely want to be consistent but also mindful not to get burned out by doing too much :)
Thank you
You need to open the Yao😉
Thank you so much! This has been a great series, and it has good instruction. I practice 8t every day. I look forward to new videos.
You're so welcome and I'm glad you enjoyed the series. Keep up the great practice :)
The warm-ups and stretches really made a difference. I felt an improvement in one session. Thank you so much.
Fantastic! So glad it helped :)
Interesting👍
Thank you for your great tutorial. My challenge is to get as low as possible. For 75, my posture is ok (being a yogi for 40+ years helps), but my goal is to go as low as I can push myself. I will use your workout to help to reach my goal. Thank you.
So happy that you found the video helpful. That's amazing - Keep going! :)
Great demo. Fun to watch. Easy to follow. Not so easy to master like you do. Love TaiChi
So glad you're enjoying it. Keep going!! :)
Why are you calling your left leg your right leg??? I'm confused!
Lol, Hopefully this will resolve the confusion. You'll notice at the beginning of each lesson it says 'This video has been flipped around so that you can mirror me'. I did this so you can watch the video and match my movements exactly without having to do some kind of mental gymnastics. (When I say left, it should match your left leg etc) A lot of times teachers don't flip their screens and you spend time trying to do the opposite.
@@taijialive Ok, thanks.
Greetings from ZA! Thanks for your valuable time and effort to teach about Body healing. Thnx.
Hey there! Thanks so much, my pleasure
"My mind was like, 'boup'" lol 😆 I appreciate your sense of humor and the splicing of funny images in the videos. You also call me out every time when I'm getting ahead of you with my feet. This has been a nice addition to my morning chi gong and I practice every day. Thank you for the instructions and keep up the good work 😁
My pleasure! So glad you're enjoying them. Lol I know getting feet, head and brains in the right order is tricky :)
Excellent detail oriented video, you should change the cover photo on videos people can't think is for learning tai chi.
Thanks so much and good suggestion! :)
Actually I found 5 lessons 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 where are the others 🤡 Daniel
If you go to the 'Playlist' section on the YT menu > 'Learn Basic Taiji Chuan' and you'll find them all there :)
Where can I find the entire series of lessons? So far I only found four. I’m loving this… Please advise Cheers, Daniel
Hi Daniel, thanks If you go to the 'Playlist' section on the YT menu > 'Learn Basic Taiji Chuan' and you'll find them all there :) As of today I still have a few to go.
Thank you again!
Absolutely! Glad you're enjoying the series.
Thank you for the great video! I really with I seen this sooner!
My pleasure, so glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant, just what I need to practise. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much, my pleasure :)
Great video series. He breaks down the complicated movements into digestabel parts. Clear, easy to understand and a good sence of humor. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the kind, considerate words! :)

great video, thanks! I'll add that the knee movements that you demonstrate at 2:42 are not weighted
Thank you
Thank you! This is a great video series, I'm excited to learn more😊
You're so welcome, I'm happy you're enjoying it :)
So I started this breathing a few days ago from a Tibetan lhama yoga course, on ebook 3 days ago and it took the 4th day and am finally arouding heat sensation in the dan tien
The Tai Chi diagram you got there is wrong.
Thank you for this video ! It is exactly what I've been searching for .. 👍👍
That's great. So happy it's working for you :)
Wonderful practice! Thank you Skee
Thanks so much! Hope it helped :)
thanks yor for offering ! i have one misdunderstanding which is about the way the breathing is directed, is it like "reverse abdominal breathing" so when you inhale the breath go in upper body and when you exhale there is the expansion of the belly and directing the chi in the lower dantien ? thanks you for clarification 🙏
Wow, another great Tai Chi video, love it, thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you very much, this is excellent, will practice daily!
My pleasure, glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Very useful video. 😀😀😀
Do we consciously release the body or just being aware of the body?
Thank you for the question. Yes we consciously placing our minds into specific areas (i.e. the shoulders, pelvis or the entire body) and then releasing any tension, stress or clinging associated found within that area. This is done through breath and relaxation. We just allow the flesh to gradually sink down and away from the bone / skeleton. We are using focus, breath and gravity to release.
@@taijialive when you said we use the focus do we do it with a feeling rather than intellectually? What do you mean we also use gravity to release? I wish you respond earlier.
@@נאדר-ש4ז To focus on something we need to use the mind and intention. However as well as the intellect we also use breath and physical release, allowing the flesh to sink (let go/relax). We consciously keep the bones light and fixed in place and allow the flesh to pull down and away. As gravity is constantly pulling downward we use it to help us in this release process.
Great tips for keeping to focus on meditation. Thank you for your time ❤
You are so welcome
Thank you so much, great elaboration, very helpful.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful!
Very clear, thanks. Is it advisable to hold the breath after each exhalation?
Thank you, God bless. ❤️❤️❤️
😀👍❤️
Thank you :)
Feeling the power of this! It's all so beautiful, had to watch a few times. I'll be back to feel the power again!
Thanks CJ. The sensations of that breeze, the feeling of that sand between my toes and the sun - so powerful!

Thank you! 😊
So beautiful and soothing! ❤
Aww thank you! It was such an incredible setting :)
I did it with you. So gorgeous and soothing!
Yay, so glad to hear that, it was just incredible!
Beautiful form and setting 😀😀
Thanks so much 😊
8.30 can you give another way to understand how to release down the flesh or the weight?
How to find that feeling?
Thank you for the question. I'll try to keep this short but the process takes time and patience. The first task is to allow the mind to be absorbed into the body. Our mind tends to be 'stuck' in one area of the body (like behind our eyes) and we need to expand that awareness so that the entire body is involved. While this is happening we need to hold the bones in place (this is the structure where we will hang the flesh). Then we need to allow anything that is not bone: skin, internal organs, fascia, blood to sink and pull down (using gravity) away from our bones. This creates the internal stretch we need to start the process of release. By holding the skeleton in place and sinking the flesh (allowing it to be pulled down by gravity) we will begin to feel heaviness in the feet, legs and hands. I hope this sheds a little light on the process.
@@taijialive thank you
Please answer do i just need yo saturate my mind inside the body?@@taijialive
It's not to consciously release the muscles?
How to release the flesh?
Hello, I have lots of videos talking about releasing the flesh. Start with the ones with Wuji. Hope that helps :)
@@taijialive but do you have to do something physical? How can I find the right intention in releasing the flesh?
