Sweetest journal ❤
Thank you! I absolutely loved making this one.
In the initial journal did you take pages out of the book and then glue ephemera and paper to the remaining book pages ? I love how U did it!
Yes, I removed pages from the book, glued some of them together, and added patterned paper and ephemera. They are fun to make. You can search altered books for more examples and tutorials. Thanks for watching! 💜
Here is a video I posted about altered book prep. ua-cam.com/video/G8ceZn2PmU4/v-deo.htmlsi=QG57eXYlwSuArL2s
Very cool box, thank you for sharing! I bought some of those large eyelets several years ago off of Amazon and the brand was We are Memory Keepers. They do have a set right now in metal colors but they have a delivery date of a couple of weeks from now and they are pretty expensive for the number of eyelets you get.
Thank you for that info. I will search for the brand on Amazon. The searches I have been dong don't pull up very many craft options. I seem to get a lot of very large gromets used in leather work or for curtains. Lol We R Memory Keepers is a reputable brand so pricey is okay.
Great haul! Until I found out about the mystery boxes, everyone was sold out. 😢
@@tbrcspirit Thank you! 💜 I almost missed out. I barely snagged mine before they sold out.
Can you give the measurements again please :)
@@racheljones6629 Sure. The base of this journal is 5.5 x 5.5 and scored at 1 inch for the binding area. The front and back cover patterned papers are 5.25 x 5.25 & the small cover panel is 5 x 4.25. The patterned papers on the inside front & back covers, pages 2, 3, and 4 are 5.25 x 4.25. I just scale down by .25. So if I was making a 6x6 journal the cover page would be 5.75 x 5.75. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching. 💜
@@TheresaH.Creates Thank you for responding!
These are so stinking cute. Off to make some right now. I am doing a craft fair and I think these will be perfect with Christmas papers. Thanks so much for the tutorial!

So pretty thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic idea! I love it!
Thank you! 😊
What is your price point you would sell them for at one of your normal shows?
@@LesaChedester I would price these at $8-$10 or $12 (if I add tags and embellishments). I will start at the $10 and lower to $8 if they don't move.I don't typically have a problem selling these quickly, but I haven't done a craft fair post covid. Other factors to consider are the event. If it is a well attended event with a higher vendor fee, then I will start at the $12 and work down if needed. My first event is a church brunch with about 200 - 250 attendees and there is no vendor fee to recoup. I will start at the lower price point. In general I stay between $5-$50 on all of my stuff. I have tags, cocoa packets, handmade cards, mini journals, cardstock journals, chipboard journals, folios, and altered books. I am probably under pricing, but in my area this works for me. I hope that pricing makes sense.
@@TheresaH.Creates Thank you so much. JJ is a new concept in my area. I wont ever compensate my time (this is my therapy :) but do want to cover materials and table fees … and a little extra for more supplies would be great!

@@coffeepaperscissors4408 This was new for me too. I have used accordion binding in the past, but never attached my papers in this manner. It got easier as I progressed and I liked the results. 💜
Oh man, that sinking feeling when you realize you’ve made a mistake that isn’t easy to fix. I totally get it. Sometimes I’ll sew a signature in upside down and it will have been one that was particularly difficult to sew in and when I realize it I just want to cry. Sometimes I’ll glue on the wrong side of the paper and then realize it was my last peace of the exact paper that I needed. Things like that are always fun! 😂 In the end it turned out so cute! I really like all of the decorations you added around the Halloween letters. Kudos for sticking it out and not throwing it across the room! ❤
Thank you so much! I did want to panic. Why is always the last piece of that paper!?! Lol
Great save!!! I love this project❤

Oh man, sorry you lost your footage, how trusting. These are really fun though! I am no fan of spiders either but I don’t have a scary story like you do. Yikes!
Thanks for watching! So frustrating and probably not the last time. I did cry a little though and then got coffee. Coffee fixes most things. Lol

Great tutorial and new process for me…can’t wait to try it. Thank you
@@LesaChedester Yay! I'm glad you're going to give it a try. It is a little fussy, but I loved the results. Thanks for watching! 💜
I tried this using all distress oxide and didn't care for the result, the colors melded too much. I think its important to use both inks
@@ImGinaMarieCorrect. The oxides leave a chalky look which was nice on some pieces, but they could easily overwhelm the other colors. I used them sparingly.
@@ImGinaMarie I am glad you gave it a try. Thanks for watching. 💜
@TheresaH.Creates i would have used both but unfortunately I only have the oxides in sprays, I would try again with the stains..I appreciate you sharing this, it's fun to play!! 🙂
