Honda Pilot Acceleration and Shifting POV | 187,000 MILES!
Helping "transport" this 2008 Honda Pilot to my sister-in-law a few weeks ago. 187k miles and this thing's still kicking. It's needed some work recently, and suffered a tbone collision, but it's still going! VTEC crossover is strong, and it pulls great for the age and mileage it has.
Just a few little in car clips of the driving, shifting, and acceleration! Enjoy!

Hello everyone! 🙂 I'm from Poland. 🇵🇱 I have a Honda Civic VIII 2008 1.8 140 km sedan, US version. Engine code R18A1. Please let me know what engine oil I should buy!? First of all, I'm talking about ACEA and API. Thank you very much in advance! 🙂
@@pawelgolinski10194 If your car is stock and in pretty good running condition, I'd just stick with the recommended 5w20 and choose whichever brand you want. What are you wanting to know about choosing oil for the car? How do you drive it, what climate are you in, and does it burn oil?
Ex civic 😈
Hello, would this fit the galant SE 2010 sedan?
@@Heenfio In theory, it should fit. But, it'd more than likely be the same case where you'd have to do some sort of rearranging or slight modifications to make sure everything fits into place and nothing interferes.
@@newtz_garage okay but would it make a bit of power or just be better? Because I’ve heard that if you keep it stock with ought a tune it wouldn’t have any power whatsoever
@@Heenfio So with any sort of performance modification, a tune is going to make the most difference and be generally safer for motor health. That being said, some cars respond really good to one or 2 little bolt ons without a tune. This being one of those cars, if all you're doing is the intake, and your motor is fairly healthy, I wouldn't worry. I would definitely recommend running premium gas to be safe and get the most from it. The motors and ecu's are fairly smart by themselves and can adjust quite good. But again, a tune will get you the best results if you can find someone that can help with that. And it will make a small performance difference just by itself. Not knock your socks off, but pretty noticable. You can also do a computer relearn and use premium gas and that'll optimize it even better too.
Hey i know u poster this awhile ago but is it illegal to have a catless
@@Wandering_thrifter Technically...it's a "racecar" that I operate "off street"...if you catch my drift😂 As long as your state doesn't do emissions testing, you're good👍🏻
What does the pcv valve do? Why was it changed? I need a video on changing the fuel injector please!
@@rhdadrian It stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It pretty much lets excess pressure leave the engine but it recirculates it back into the intake. It's essential a small scale emission regulator for the car, but they can clog up overtime because it allows small amounts of oil and fuel to flow through back to the intake. On these motors, they had oil burning issues, so they tend to clog easier and more frequently than an engine that doesn't burn oil as bad. And haven't done the fuel injectors on this myself, but I know there are hundreds of videos out there how to. You can even look up for the motor specifically, it's Toyotas 2az-fe motor, very very popular and common motor around that time. Hope this helps some!
@@newtz_garage thank you! Ive tried looking for the scion videos on fuel injectors but some the videos ive seen dont show exactly what bolts to remove and any clips to unplug. Usually its older models. Ill keep searching but thanks for responding!
@@rhdadrian I gotcha, I'll try and take a look myself and see if I can find something to help you out👍🏻
@@rhdadrian ua-cam.com/video/_oLLWEcZQjA/v-deo.htmlsi=1qnZZz7uDKipV6Ys I skimmed through this one real quick, I think this should do a pretty good job helping you get it done👍🏻
@@newtz_garage thank you! Last question do you know what size the pcv valve bolt is? A 17mm, 19mm?
Barely broken in yet
They do fit on the same gen galant as well. I can say definitely invest in a hydro shield as without one especially in winter that filter gets clogged quick. But they do sound pretty damn good
Hey man, I click on the link to purchase them, and the price comes out to $9,999,999,515.00 USD.
Hi my lancer has the same exact 4g69 engine but auto would you reckon it'll work?
@@saifqasem8998 possibly, you may have to cut or bend it a bit. What year lancer do you have?
@@newtz_garage 06/07
@@newtz_garage 06/07 lancer
@@saifqasem8998 I'd imagine it should have fairly similar fitment. I'd look up same style intakes for it and videos and see how it fits for other people
@@newtz_garage thats the problem not many people have a 4g69 lancer so there is basically no videos or content about it unfortunately, anyways I have to replace a valve and make sure that the car is stable and clear for a while before any aftermarkets. For now im doing a wide research about it

so whats would you prefer cold air intake or short ram intake for my honda civic ex sedan 2007 auto?
@@wirdtuber3812 honestly, if you really feel the need to do something, short ram to save money. It'll sound cool, but that's it, especially with the auto.
@@newtz_garage thanks man

You can hear the vvt-i crossover
Would this fit an ex
Yup👍🏻
They don’t sell them on crunchfield anymore only on Amazon where could I buy the brackets for the speakers? Also what year is ur civic?
Dang. They do have dozens of other compatible speakers on crutchfield though, and they should come with the option of the brackets. It's an 07 LX sedan
That shit don’t do anything 😂😂😂
I get the skepticism😂 I do. And alone, yeah, it won't do much but sound cool. But tb coolant bypass, bumper duct, remanned uprated injectors, reflash for 91,Si muffler and midpipe, the thing hauls for what it is and i love it! No race car, but stock 8th gen Si's are no problem and brzs😂
@@newtz_garage I respect it tho
@@MarcusHosein Much appreciated🙏🏻
This is a very similar unit to mine amzn.to/3Vn0emH
Do I have to keep it plugged in?? I'm trying to do a whole hall way
I would imagine so. The cord on the unit is already pretty long, and you could always use an extension cord for extra length. But, if you do unplug it, I'd wait a minute or so just so it can pressurize and heat back up.
Bolts right on with no modification? Wonder if the same can be done on an Ex coupe
Yep, no modification! And yes! Just make sure you get a muffler for the Si coupe, not sedan
Estraguei a case retirando as películas, ridiculamente difíceis de retirar.
Can we just use regular wipes too?
What head unit is that for the stereo? Im stock right now and its killing me but yours is so perfectly fit.
It's an RGB pioneer unit. I don't remember the exact model, but check out crutchfield for their kits
Should those cleaning wipes be used on leather surfaces?
You can use it on leather, yes.
Thank you
You're welcome! Glad to be of help😁
This car will 100% walk any 8th 9th and 10th gen Si's out there. These people in the comments don't want to face reality 🤷♂
Funny enough, haven't actually messed with any 10th Gen Si's. But I have played with a few 10th Gen sports, I think cvts cuz I had them in the end. Stock 8th and 9th gen Si's haven't been a problem either. It's not fast and it's not like I'm gapping any of them in this, but it technically shouldn't be able to beat them at all, even if it's by a car or whatever. Definitely a hoot to mess with people with and then them find out it's an LX if we get a chance to chat😂 I'm sure it's hurt a few feelings lowkey😂
@@newtz_garage Prob a tuned 8th/9th gen with fbo might give you a harder time but those 10th gen sports are meh. They look pretty but they're slow 😴
@@kikicoot Oh absolutely, I'm cooked by any of them with real bolt ons. I've run a few with a muffler delete or just an intake, and it was close, but I still edged out. Any actual bolt ons, or even reflash or time, they've got it all day😂 I ain't mad though, this thing will put in some decent work for being an econo turd😂 And those cvts are wasted on the 10th gens as far as stock performance, but they seem to hold up decent enough
Short rams are useless
did it blow up yet? asking for the sake of my 1.8 R18. Thinking of doing this one :p
I'm trying😂 but this thing is still kicking! Wrist pins have been ticking and chattering for over 15k miles now, and it's still going strong. I have the short ram, remaned uprated injectors, si muffler, tb coolant bypass, bumper duct for more air, and a reflash. The noise is makes on light and partial throttle is awful😭 but once you're on throttle, it goes away. Other than the impending doom of it "blowing" one day, it runs great and hauls really good for what it is. If you're thinking about doing the short ram, I'd definitely look into trying out some diy bumper duct, or even heat reflective tape, just to help with intake temps.
just didnt feel like looking i guess
What did you have done to the car? Exhaust and or engine
This is my buddy's car. Everything is completely stock.
How was it after the clutch replacement? My civic 8th gen is shuddering when I take off from 1st, (usually worse after driving for about 15mins) - I want to replace clutch but worried that I also need flywheel? How was yours after it got the clutch?? Thanks! (Im in the UK by the way)
It's definitely a more sensitive clutch, it wants to bite at just one point, and it's a very narrow window to grab. But I was having general shuddering and bogging issues for a little, and that was right before I did my intake and coolant bypass, and decided to check out the IAC(idle air control). It was pretty junked up, so I cleaned the unit and it seemed to do the trick for me. But this clutch definitely took me a good bit to readjust to the car, and then again after I did the intake, and after the reflash😂 quite a finicky little car, but I'd check into your IAC and even the throttle body itself before anything else. Hope this helps!
@@newtz_garage you know what, the idle itself is a little weird, sometimes revs do drop when im engaging 1st or coming to a stop. I will give it a look. Thanks buddy!
@@lazymaverick5118 Oh yeah, that sounds about like my experience too. Definitely give it a look👍🏻 Happy to help dude, best of luck!
Be nice if you kept going but alright
I just installed mine and I don’t know what I did wrong but all the engine lights are on and the rpm keeps going up and down, do you happen to know what coukd be the problem?😢😢😢
Could be a number of little things. First thing I'd do is remove the negative battery terminal and turn the key in the ignition to the first position and let it sit for a minute like that. This will discharge the system, and then go ahead and remove the positive terminal and let it sit for a little longer. Next, disconnect the MAF sensor and the throttle body, and start checking all of the intake piping for any gaps/leaks where air could leave or enter the intake. Secure all the piping and couplers, plug the throttle body and MAF back in, reconnect the battery, and then try and start it up again. Hopefully should do the trick. Let me know!👍🏻
Could have at least jacked the car up.?
We could have, yeah😂 But it was really just that easy to not jack it up, so I didn't bother
What should I cover the fog light hole with? Like a mesh?😅
If you want to, yeah. Or you could even get a filter sock for it.
@@newtz_garage which one would you recommend?
@@ballzinyojawz7700 Really just comes to personal preference. Most filter socks can be slightly hydrophobic, and repel a little water, so that's good for those unexpected water encounters. A little mesh screen would be good for bigger debris and crap damaging the filter and just hitting it in general. It really comes down to your driving and environment, and preference. I personally don't run either, and currently no bumper either. But I also don't daily drive it. I can find a few options and send them to you👍🏻
amzn.to/3Ufu9On amzn.to/3UffZg7 amzn.to/3W2pjoC
What exhaust do you have?
Only thing done to the exhaust is the catless header! I have it linked in the description
Do you think itll fit my 2012 gs
Definitely!👍🏻 And if it's an auto, you'll have to adjust the fitment a little, same as me. If you have the manual, it should fit perfect👌🏻
@@newtz_garage i got an auto, thanks so much!
@@ballzinyojawz7700 Not a problem!👌🏻
Will this fit 09GS I got the auto
@@gisselDR Yep, it'll fit! Availability has been a little low inline, but there are still some out there. And since you have an auto, you'll just have to tweak the fitment slightly, but it'll fit👍🏻
Just some quick advice when you unbox it at the back, there is a QR code to scan, you should blur or black It out, someone can hack your camera!
Very true, thanks for putting that out there. Thankfully,I make sure to modify/deface any and all codes or labels I display. For this, I chose to leave them visible so that people could see how it would appear to them. I appreciate the concern though!
I got one black and a red 😂 like a dodge
Hell yeah!👌🏻😂
Great video, I will change my tomorrow.....it's so easy
Thank you! And it really is! Glad to be of help😁
Hello Newtz Garage,,,can I use this clip in my compilation? Any comment what happened? Thanks
Absolutely, just link to my video and channel, that's all I ask. Thankfully nothing came of the little interaction. But the red Acura RDX and dark colored Malibu were both coming out into traffic right towards me. Thankfully, the Acura was moving much slower than the Malibu, otherwise I probably would not have been able to maneuver out of the way like I had. Brakes worked perfect, and ABS engaged for a quick second, but I was able to slow down and downshift into 2nd from 5th in time to swerve around and pull off. And the cop I passed down the way didn't seem to care and kept on.
So let me ask a question here by putting on a cold intake and a filter being right there by the fender wall there's no way you can drive that car in the rain🤔
I've had several other people wonder the same thing. I personally haven't had a problem with it. It is a slight worry if you do drive through rain, I agree. But again, I haven't had a problem, and neither has anyone else I've talked with that has run the cold air setups. You can always go with a short ram setup, or even cut it down to a desired length. As long as you don't go swimming with the front end, I don't see any problem. I even removed the cover that was in place of the fog light and ran like that for quite a while. It all just depends on what driving you experience
Loved that engine sound. Had a bone stock 2003 and drove it out to 279K.
That's awesome! And yes, such a good sound, very early 2000s Honda like. I so want to get another one as a beater car some day.
Hey man I got a evlipse 4G GT Im just trying to do some mods like the headers and the intake, any advice?
Awesome stuff, and absolutely! I'd hit up RRE for their headers, I don't think you can find anyone else anymore really, and they're the best. roadraceengineering.com/blog/category/rre_4g_eclipse_parts/ But for intakes, you can hunt around pretty easily and find some cheaper ones on sale and what not. And I'd go with a true cold air setup. I've seen a lot of people like to run throttle body spacers on the v6, so check around to see if anyone still has them listed. Definitely look into tuning in your area too. If you plan on doing just one or the other mod, I wouldn't worry too much, the 4g platform (4g69 & 6g75) are pretty adaptive and responsive to mods. But if you're going full bolt on, you'll want a good tune. Hope this gives you some direction for your build!
I want to ask u more questions, it’s anyway to contact with u?
@@danielmunoz8052 yeah man, that's cool. I have my Instagram listed in my links, you can DM there

Does armor all stick mess up interior or was that back then?
I know years back, that was a big thing people complained about with them. I've never had any issues though. But with the spray bottles, and most other brands, they can tend to be a little stronger of a mix/concentrate than you really need. Moderation is always a safe way to play until you're familiar with any sort of cleaners/chemicals.
@@newtz_garage you think it might be safe with no harsh chemicals right now?
@@juanparra9992 Like I said, I've never had an issue using their products, they're just not "top tier" if you know what I mean. But yeah, I'd say they're safe to use. Just use them as intended and lightly, if you need more strength, use more.
I have the 2012 LX too and even though its not fast the manual transmission makes it so fun to drive. I havent even added anything yet. I love it. Almost 40mpg.
