This version of Machine gun is by far the greatest masterpiece of music history in my opinion. Everything is perfect in this song. Even the feedback from his guitar. When I first heard it on vinyl, it was magical, I couldnt believe what I was hearing. Since then - 25 years later, it's still my absolute favourite song of all time. What he's even playing in the beginning isnt from this world. How could anybody play something like that? I mean, nobody ever played a solo on a guitar like that. And then when he stops singing and the song is starting, you are sucked into another dimension of sound. It took me 20 years to know there is actual footage of this show. I cant believe its true, when I am listening to it. Playing guitar since 30 years and Jimi still is by far the best guitar player ever on this planet

This is the single greatest electric guitar performance i have ever heard. I first heard it in the early 80's and it still gives me chills, makes my hair stand on end and brings tears to my eyes all at once. His incredible tone and control brings the whole Vietnam War to mind. You can hear it all in that solo. This is why Jimi is held in such high esteem. Simply incredible.
