From Duke Student to 1.3M Followers: Tulio Sasaya on Authenticity, Growth & Mental Health
Tulio Sasaya, a senior at Duke University, has built an impressive social media presence, amassing 630k followers on Instagram and 690k on TikTok. Since his sophomore year, he has dedicated himself to content creation, using his platforms to explore themes of authenticity, mental health, and personal growth.
Tulio’s journey began as a way to connect with others and share his life experiences, evolving into a passion for storytelling that resonates with a wide audience. From documenting his life as a college student to discussing societal issues, his content blends relatability with an artistic edge.
As both a creator and entrepreneur, Tulio navigates the challenges of maintaining authenticity while engaging a massive audience. His success is built on disciplined planning, creative innovation, and a deep understanding of what drives connection in a digital age.
Beyond the metrics, Tulio views social media as a platform to inspire and uplift. He aims to foster genuine community and encourage others to embrace their unique stories, staying true to themselves amidst the pressures of a highly curated world.

    Happy belated bday Louis🎉. I always enjoy listening to your thoughts😊. Harvey, I can see a very promising & interesting future for you. What do you mean you don’t speak the best in words? That’s the best I’ve heard of from a young, articulate, intelligent young man speak about the most important woman in your life. I never met your mom but if I could have I would pat her on the back and tell her what an amazing job she did raising you and your siblings. I know with out a doubt she is smiling down on you from heaven with proudness. You will see her again when you are a very old man. I am proud of you. I hope my 3 sons will speak of me like that when I am gone. Love from America

    I'd love to hear you interview people who have created success for their communities, not necessarily economically but maybe for example, environmentally. How do we move away from our climate and nature catastrophe? What are people doing and succeeding in that's positive?

    Thank you for your videos Harvey. I think it would be interesting to have some episodes on what 'success' means and how the world views people that are not 'successful '. Are these people still of value to us all or not? Keep podcasting!

    • @PersonableHarveyBrackenSmith
      @PersonableHarveyBrackenSmith Місяць тому

      I will try to focus on this more in future interviews but I have found that although many of the people I have interviewed have found economic success many of their greatest moments were not necessarily financially motivated. E.g. Anastasia Garcia ep 20 she grew an audience to a million followers but eventually stopped making the type of certain she had been making about her hand because she wanted to create videos that made her happy - this is an example of finding success without an economic emphasis OR ep with Chris Hinshaw his success was focused on creating 36 crossfit games champions or Anna Hemmings the focus was on Winning World titles.

    • @PersonableHarveyBrackenSmith
      @PersonableHarveyBrackenSmith Місяць тому

      Of course. The learnings are not from how to become a World Champion or how to grow a million followers rather it is about learning what you can from their mindset, journies, failures, successes and learnings and seeing how this can create applicable value in your own life

    • @katherinesmith6738
      @katherinesmith6738 Місяць тому

      Another interesting topic to explore with successful people could be whether there are any 'costs' to their success. Are there things they've had to sacrifice or neglect? Success requires focus and making choices about where to spend our time and put our energies. Can we have a rounded life and still be successful? Can we be successful at everything or do some things have to 'take a back seat'?

    I was always taught minimum 15%, 20% is solid, 25% if you’re feeling super generous. If you’re paying a smaller tip to a proper restaurant (not fast food), you can also leave bills on the table, like usually just $10 / $20 works. Also, some establishments have at the register 3 options, (say 20%, 25%, 30%) to which the same (minimum, solid, feeling generous) associations apply. Haircuts are sort of similar but if you know the barber, you should tip them higher. Can’t mess up that perfect hair mate.

      @@PersonableHarveyBrackenSmith the classic definition of Strength is losing momentum. The MMA style of power, a scary tough guy BS. The only have one thing going for them, it's drive and determination to go to the gym everyday. Strength for me has always been "integrity, and drive to stand for what you believe in" We could argue that the new generation are weaker, in a way that they are more feminine and think they know more than they do (and that is true in a way) but they do have the determination to stand for what they believe in, the problem is they don't have the right idea or wisdom to understand what truely matters in life. Yo each is their own, but I always felt a man that works hard for a living and loves his family, is smart enough to teach their kids about the world as the most powerful person on Earth. We admire those people and love them and respect them. How have you made the world a better place is the question that drives the most powerful person, and your compass is your heart. ❤️
