Nikon is failing because they don't have a still photographers high resolution camera that doesn't focus on being a hybrid with video. The Z8 isn't a professional level still camera. It's a hybrid with a focus on video and action photography over still photography.

I hope Canon R6 Mark III at last will be switching from outdated, decades old front-lit to BSI-CMOS sensors, if not I'm going back to Sony. At this point mirrorless camera makers should have been experimenting with much more efficient and sensitive SPAD, quantum dot and graphene enhanced CMOS sensors. Graphene sensors are x1000 more sensitive than current ones and can detect even deep thermal infrared spectrum so just imagine enormous possibilities

it doesn't look like it's coming. It looks like Sony has packed it in. The FX6 doesn't even record 6k, no way am I paying over £5000 for a 4 year old camera that has so many quirks.

Not only is the Nikon unit superior to the Canon. Its significantly cheaper. As is the glass. Lastly the sensor in the Nikon literally s**ts on the Canon. See dxo results for the numbers. So if you are already a tog, chances are youll stick with your existing stable due to glass, accessories etc but if youre a new tog looking to get your pro gear, Nikon is the way. Based purely on results and cost.
