Hey, thanks for the video. I have a question: my code reader doesn’t delete the errors. Do you have any idea why that might be?
It might be the type of code you have. Some can be erased, some can't. Keep in mind a scanner isnt designed to fix the initial issue so the codes will come back after a little while unless you fix the problem. I would look up the codes and go from there.

It can clear check engine lights but only for a short time, its primary function is to check the code that causes the light

Nope the o2 sensor is before the cat and so it wasn't affected

It was pretty peppy for only having around 115hp
How long do you have to wait to get a emission test after clearing the codes
I would drive it for a bit before getting it tested but the light will come back on at some point if the initial issue isn't fixed.
Sorry but all you're doing is telling me about your scanner, you're supposed too show how on the scanner, how too erase a code. When the check engine light comes on & how to use the obd2 scanner to erase the code, damn you told me nothing, Peace-Out 😢
Just connect it to your obd2 port and scan the codes and press clear codes
Misfire must not run as good as you thought
It was intermittent, I replaced the plugs and coils and its ran great since
I live north east (connecticut) i believe the longest one I’ve counted had 35 cars . Wow
I've seen several around here over 200, usually will have a couple helpers in the middle

I just gotten a 2000 Ford f150 yesterday with the 4.6 extended cab nice truck in red color no dents no rust . Got her for $2000. Bawn stock . It's quiet I want to take it to he muffler shop to have flowmasters put on but I believe I'm goin to do what u did take he muffler off but I see mine has a clamp on mine so I won't have to cut nothing . I do it tomorrow when I get up. I'm at work at he moment so cheers
Its a cheap way to make them louder but If I was to go back and redo it I would have probably kept the piping behind the rear axle like factory, having it in front of the rear tire drones a little more than I'd like. Good luck!

Not a good scanner for modern cars. Experineced problems using this just with my 2010 toyota. Innacurate.
I've used it on several vehicles with no issues, although it was $20 so I wouldn't expect much
If i hook one of these up to a truck will it tell me if the seller has deleted bad codes like for ex a check engine light i need to know because i am interested in buying a truck
I don't believe so, normally if you clear a code with one of these without fixing the initial issue the light will come back after driving 10 miles or so. Good luck!

Is a good little obd for 40 bucks...I use it all the time....but I use the bog boy obd for deeper reading on the vehicle

WOW nice set up I also got a 03 with a bed / camper shell. Did u weld the ladder rack to fit around the shell or did u buy it as is? If so do u got name brand / link?
It's a custom rack that my dad had built, it sits on the top of the bed sides with the canopy on top of that, PM me on instagram and I can show some photos

I'm not sure of the exact measurements, but it's about a foot wide 10" tall and 6" deep

I own one. To just check codes you don't need to start the vehicle. In fact it says to turn it on, not start it.

Honestly not sure, never had that pop up. It could be an issue with the scanner itself
I use this to fix all cars including lawnmowers, and weed wakers. It can also detect trouble codes on vender machines and scooters.. 😂😂 .

My f150 has a flowmaster exhaust system with duals, but just a few days ago it fell off in literally the exact same spot in which you have you elbow and tip. And let me tell you, I honestly LOVE the way my truck sounds without the muffler n shit. I want to do the exact same thing as you and have it elbow and dump out the side with a 6 inch tip. I even noticed a fairly decent change in overall performance when I took er out for a rip. Just goes to show that you really don't need to spend a pretty penny into making your truck sound better, improving its performance.

Its actually pretty easy to keep it quiet, but yeah cold starts can be loud 😂
Misfire? Doesn't seem accurate. Also, would not check engine light flash if that were the case?
At the time it wasn't misfiring but a few months later it did, It ended up being a coil pack.
@@mightymachinez In that case, the device is really impressive, that it detected the onset of trouble. I learned the hard way when an auto shop misdiagnosed a problem I was having as a bad O2 sensor. Later it turned out I had 4 bad ignition coils after sinking $$$ on the wrong issue.
@@vikramgupta2326 Yeah, been there done that haha. Sometimes they aren't super accurate but for 20 bucks it was a steal, I still have the scanner from the video and It still works great.

another popular you tube mechanic says that if you use one of the cheap scanners (he holds this one up) that you can short out your vehicle computer with it.... I just bought one and am nervous to use it. Anyone actually have this experience (of wrecking your car's computer)?

Yup. All old ford v8's sound great with a simple muffler delete not too loud not too quiet. Always keep your cats though, for reliability.
I agree, if you want some extra noise without going crazy muffler delete is the way to go. I don't plan on deleting the cats, if I did it would be too loud, and gotta keep some back pressure Haha!

@@mightymachinez I have a 2004 Ford F150 triton My back exsaust rotted out and camp apart so Im using string to keep it from falling off, I'm take your 💡 idea and remove the end pipe for better weight and go with no muffler asweome video
@@AaronRowland-y5w Thanks man. I personally love the side exit in front of the rear tire. looks pretty mean and sounds great, not too loud but not too quiet.

It is an 03 F150
I have one of these, have tried it on a number of vehicles, have never yet got anything usable from it. Mist of the time it shows some codes but when you try to read gives the no codes stored in module. Absolutely useless and a waste of money
