    Keep at it! ✊ This song holds a special place in my heart. I used to write for a soap in the early 2000s and a new, black, feminist character joined the show. She ran an edgy, provocative, against-the-grain, empowering women's magazine and the producers asked us to submit ideas for its title. I submitted Back To Black. It wasn't selected, but barely a year later, this song came out. I guess Amy & I were kindred spirits. 😁 Good memories! Still hoping to go back to writing for that show someday. RIP Amy W: Our nightingale, emancipated.

    👍 by the way there’s nothing wrong with reading music or tab while you’re playing no different than a person giving a speech with a teleprompter the rock bands were using a similar program in 90ls its not in real music notation it’s in tab but I consider it another form of reading music piano has a little bit but it’s not the same you’re wrong in your other video when you’re saying you can’t play without program it’s you need your sheet music because you’re still a little green do your homework and exercises I’ll try and clock myself on the 100 hours in 6monthsi dunno if can probably do 20 hours a week depending on my progress but I’m a seasoned guitarist so my hands are limber the whole reason why I’m starting again which I only messed around a few weeks years ago and I’m currently using simply piano for a week about and can play with both hands which I never pulled off before so I know Ive taken a good start so I was looking for someone like you that had worked with program. Good job 🙏 Music will change your life if you let it

    Hi Dave!, I have been looking at your piano videos because I am trying to decide if I will embark on a similar adventure or not.... did you had any previous knowledge on piano/music at all? Hi, That's an excellent question. Other than randomly hitting keys on a synth keyboard to trigger midi sounds I have no previous experience. If you are a complete beginner like me then you'll be fine. Skoove app starts you off really easy and if you practice you can do it. Document your hours spent at the keyboard. Try to 30-60mins each day and the odd 10-20mins outside of your main practice time. You'll get it. It'll come and after the few few songs you learn it's gets easier to learn new ones. Good luck with it!

    • @davehyper7835
      @davehyper7835 6 місяців тому

      It's not necessary to have a manual winder but personally i favour the manual winder. It's smaller, lighter, causes less problems and makes the whole Mamiya system more reliable. No need to worry about where your next battery is coming from. Plus there's something that adds to the manual film photography experience when you manually wind your film forward. Just my opinion though.

    The idea is good, but here are three thoughts: You could have gone to 1/2 or 1/4 with beat. Then the interaction with other devices is easier, or the bpm a little more plausible. You can multiply a finished, repeating bassline via the menu with 'dubl'. You lose the bass note when recording the melody.

    • @davehyper7835
      @davehyper7835 7 місяців тому

      The Super is quite a bit different that the Pro. I have repaired some in the past. Could be bad battery terminals inside or make sure the small Brass rod in bottom of camera is not touching the pin. Hard to explain but once you have removed the removed the plastic covers there's a hole in bottom of the camera that you can see an adjustment screw. When you crank the camera the brass pin should not touch the screw. Check it for correct clearance. if it's touching the camera will not fire. At 7:13 in the video you can see the small screw in the hols (it's bang in the centre of the screen)

    I can't play any melody seeing the keys, I remember the notes but when I look at the piano keys my hands get confused or make many mistakes, here I think you have to develop the ability to not concentrate on the keys and only on the notes and let your hands move by themselves, that is to say, it is something like not allowing your hands to be guided by your eyes in all the notes, but letting your hands move as you learned by reading the score, obviously concentrating on the notes that you already know by looking at anywhere. I think the steps to follow would be, first learn the melody with the application, then play the melody without the application until it comes out without errors, then to see how good you are managing the times it would be to play the melody with the application but without putting attention and at the end see how well you followed the times and thus practice until you get

    When you were adding extra notes to the initial main baseline, how come it didn’t just add the notes overtop? Instead it replaced them? I thought you could play four simultaneous notes per step?

      You can play simultanous notes per step but i jumped an octave and couldn't get to that bass note to press it at the same time as the higher note. Basically you can press more than 1 note whilst recording each step (a chord if you like too) but in order to keep that original bass note i would have had to of pressed it together with the higher note and i'd shifted an octave i wasn't able to access it. Perhaps with a midi keyboard plugged in you would be able to play notes across multiple octaves simultanously. Hope this makes sense.

      @@davehyper7835 ahhhh ok. I would have thought you could just add a note overtop, I didn’t realize you had to play all the notes simultaneously in order to make a chord on a step

      @@schmapps1You could accomplish that with one additional step after live recording the melody: edit each step with a melody note and add its missing bass note back in.

      @@ChrisLoos1 ahhh ok. Too bad you can’t just ‘live overdub’ on the J6
