I’m an actual pilot so its best for me to use Knots and feet, and I still hate using Celsius as a pilot so I use Fahrenheit when I can get away with it. I think people who use kph are cursed, only 1% of pilots in the world use kph and meters, and not the top 1% of pilots either lol

@@M.tts15 Nope, all across NATO Nautical Miles is used for distance and Nautical Miles per hour as speed. With feet as altitude, and I’m using miles for distance since NM are not available in WT for some reason, only Statute miles. Only thing I’m using different from NATO standard is temperature, but thats more of an act of spite against Celsius which I hate using, I just intuitively understand Fahrenheit better. Plus, since WT doesn’t use decimals, Fahrenheit is actually more precise to use as well

Way back in the day when I played on PS4, I would plug a keyboard and mouse into my PS4 just to have C key functionality lmao, you really can’t properly play the game without it

They really need a toggle button option to look around it would save me a lot of grief and would’ve helped me understand what I was doing wrong with boom and zoom on US aircraft much quicker if I could see the BF 109 ready to poop in my ear canal

You guys really need to learn what key binding is. I use down plus whichever stick used for rudders and throttle. Unfortunately do lose control of them for a sec. But it's way better to look around

First of all, I did, in very subtle moments. Second, flaps are practically useless in the F-15, and I’m on the burner whenever I’m trying to keep energy. Just because you might bite the dust early in a Beyond Visual Range (BVR) scenario doesn't erase their existence; calling that stupid is a bit shortsighted. I'd wager that in propeller aircraft, your playbook is pretty much restricted to boom and zoom.

Using the vertical in the F-15 is so important because it gives you this window in the dive that only some people know how to exploit. If you tap negative in the dive, the aircraft will get right back to its corner speed in a second or two. Couple that with the F-15 still being able to bite down hard with AoA, and the aircraft becomes a very fun toy for smart pilots. I’m really excited for the Hornet too

@@robanson32Knowing gaijin, they will. Even the F-15 pre nerf was underperforming compared to rl, and then they nerfed it from that. If gaijin is gonna go the lopsided balance route, just give the russians all the stupid missiles and give the Americans their proper flight performance. But they wont do that.

Its really not that gimped, it is a little, but this is the pre nerf F-15 and he was basically jamming S. He could have faired a lot better if he was playing to the strengths of his plane like I was

I wish that was modeled right now, unfortunately it isn’t, not that I know of. If you lose a wing on the F-15 in WT it just throws you into an unrecoverable spin

Oh yeah this is by no means a tutorial on how to limp lmao, but I can give this advice when limping. In WT with most top tier jets, 2 minutes of fuel is your absolute bingo, meaning at your best energy management it takes about 2 minutes of fuel to cross the map. When you get to that point, trade your remaining airspeed for altitude immediately by going into a medium climb until you reach 300 knots, then level out, and then use between 30-60% throttle to limp yourself home at around 250-300 knots. This will put you on a good glide path where you are generating enough lift to keep your AoA low, and going slow enough to where you aren’t wasting energy to excess drag. Your plane will drop from 500 to 300 knots a lot faster than from 300 to 250 without fuel, so trade that extra airspeed for altitude you can use to glide. You’ll be a sitting duck, but thats better than not having enough fuel to get home. This video actually has less to do with not having fuel and more to do with showing how much time is wasted trying to land “properly” in WT. You can go from mach 1.2 to at a dead stop on the runway in under a minute if you train yourself how to, even in a normal landing scenario, less time spent in your approach, the less time you’re a defenseless target against enemy fighters coming to AF strafe

⁠​⁠@@dashydragneel7192The Voice warning should be on by default, but with the dev server audio being different from my normal settings, it made the voice way louder, also you need to be flying a jet that actually had bitchin betty in real life to hear it. It’s also a new feature from a couple updates ago. AoA though is your Angle of Attack, which by definition is the angle between the chord line of the wing and the relative wind measured from the leading edge, but in non-pilot Jargon its basically the angle at which your wings are hitting the air. If the air you are flying through is flowing over and under the wings smoothly and ideally for the airfoil, your AoA is low. If you are “scraping” against the wind like when you see a SU-27 doing a cobra, that is high AoA, also just shortened to “Alpha”. In fact, all a cobra is is going from a state of low AoA to extremely high AoA in a very short amount of time, and a Kvochurs Bell is the exact same thing with an introduction of yaw once the aircraft has achieved high AoA. You can even hear bitchin betty screaming “AOA, AOA” at me in this video when I pull extremely hard with airbrake right before I land in this video, which is basically telling me that my AoA is dangerously close to the critical AoA, the angle at which the wing stalls no matter what speed you are going. Exceeding the critical AoA can be a good thing in a jet with a high thrust to weight ratio, but is aerodynamically fatal in any aircraft that has a T/W ratio less than 1.0. AoA is extremely important to understand whenever you’re flying anything fixed wing though, and I would highly recommend watching a few videos on it to better understand it, its not overly complex or anything, but it will make anyone a better WT player, so I can’t recommend it enough. Even real life videos on AoA will help you understand how War Thunder aircraft work better too. Its a vital skill for flying, and understanding it will help you understand flight in general better. It has so many applications.

Yes that’s the idea of this video that’s why I called it vipa, this was the dev server and I was showing off the rate fighting capability of the F-16 against the Mig-23 MLD, not my skills or strategy. Also using a Fox-2 here would be the dumbest thing possible because he sees me and would just flare it away. The gameplay is passive because it’s a rate fight and people with low attention spans know nothing other than 1 circle fights without knowing what a 1 circle fight is

@@humancookie Fox-1s are great in an actual Air RB meta setting, but I mostly enjoy the art of ACM and in this video particularly I wanted to show just how badly the F-16 (which on the dev server mind you I’m pretty sure had the F-16C engines) spanked the former king of ACM at top tier (for a year after it was introduced), the MLD, and spank it does. Also this is when I was less experienced with how the F-16 fights, now I’m MUCH better with it and I probably should upload some of the clips I’ve been collecting.
