You Are The Girl For The Job | Jess Connolly | Book Review | Off Script with Debbie
You Are The Girl For The Job | Book Review | Off Script with Debbie. Get ready to leave defeat and disbelief in your dust, and step boldly into the life God has purposed for you from the beginning.
It's tough when your gifts and passions are stuck in holding patterns of insecurity, shame, and comparison. But the truth is, every experience of your life has prepared you to live out your God-given purpose in this exact moment. The world is hurting and our lives are waiting, we don't have time stay stuck--we've got to make a move.
You Are the Girl for the Job is not an empty catchphrase. It's the straight-up truth God has proclaimed over your life from the beginning. It's not a statement about your capacity, but rather about His--and that's why we can dare to believe it's true.
With powerful insights and heart-pumping hope, bestselling author Jess Connolly is here to coach you through six steps toward empowered purpose:
#1 Call It Quit (You'll see, it's the best place to start)
#2 Find Your People
#3 Use What You've Got
#4 Face Your Fear
#5 Catch the Vision
And finally, #6 Make Your Move
You don't have to hide, hold back, or wait for permission when God calls you forward. Let this book--as well as the study guide and video study (sold separately)-be your jumpstart into confident, purposed living.
Show Host: Debbie Cole
Guest: Emily Roth - Mother, Author, Video Producer, Creative Consultant
Quotes From the Book:
“We think our responsibility is to tell everyone how they should interact with Jesus, but what is most life-changing is when we interact with Jesus in front of others and let them see the difference HE makes in our lives.”
“I refuse to miss out on what God is doing, what He might be saying, and how He may be miraculously intervening. I refuse to miss out because I’m focused on myself, my insecurities, or my perception of my own capacities.”
Episode Verse
Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Unoffendeable Book Review. It turns out giving up your “right” to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It’s a radical, provocative idea: We’re not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own “righteous anger” is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as D...

How To Have Friends As A Pastors Wife
Leaving the church is going to hurt my mother so much, but it has to be done. There will be no redemption arc with me. I am not a "prodigal daughter" but a former slave who has freed herself from the influence of an irrational and abusive cult. My mother will not receive vindication from a repentant child instead she will have to find some way to cope with her own fear and doubt as I go on to have a very different life then anything she imagined, without her in it if necessary. I know when the day finally comes where I have to come out as an atheist, and a lesbian, and a democrat, and a lot of other things they hate with a passion, it's going to be a day full of hurt feelings for everyone. I'm preparing for it now, thinking about how they're going to feel and react so that I know exactly how best to respond.
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬..East Africa 🌍
Wow as a pastor's wife...I loved this episode
This was so helpful thank you
I too could not go to church for awhile after my father died. When I did return I only cried through worship.
No one is too far gone! My Son was born again and baptized, active in the youth group….then in high school got into the wrong group.. long story short, he spent most of his young adult life in prison…now he’s is slowly starting to realize his path. At 33 ; I believe his heart is coming home!
I love Melisa!!
Laying down our rights is invaluable. In denying our American culture we need to instead surrender to the culture of Christ. Differentiating between cultures and consciously chosing is our choice.
Great episode and discussion about a timely and important topic, Debbie and Amanda! I read Unoffendable last year but I learned even more from the insights you shared today!! Thanks, ladies!
This is such an interesting and necessary topic. It’s very lonely to be a pastors wife specially when the pastor (my husband) keeps reminding me that it is not wise to have friends in the church. I know so many people and yet I feel so alone and invisible
My son is lovely but it breaks my heart that he no longer have the faith he used to,to anyone reading this please pray for him thank you
❤

Freedom of religion applies to everyone not just Christians. It's important to accept and respect everyone regardless of their beliefs including atheists and those who believe differently than you. If you find you can't accept them then the problem is in you.
Great info!
Good to see you Debbie!! Good info!
I'm one of those "child who walked away from his faith". I'm now a confirmed atheist and I couldn't be happier.
Your heart and words will come face to face with your Creator.
@@timhosbond4069 There is no evidence for any creator being. It's simply ignorant people inventing a cosmic genie as a panacea for everything they don't know. For them invoking a magic man solves everything.
How have you struggled? What are some tips you could share for those going through this right now?
I love you Debbie! This was another great one!
