@@csjohns173 We were at FIT The same time. I graduated in 94. Now licensing isn’t going to be easy to do if you haven’t established a brand or some sort of a name in the market. You have to have proof that what you have is viable to that market first.

You are 100% correct. But they are a very unusual brand because they kind of came out of nowhere. Many people on the East coast still aren’t aware of them.

@@planetbrooklynacademy different cities and Morocco 🇲🇦 has it different flavors Tetouan were I’m currently at is more like VA back home slow country mountain 🏔️ side they stick more to the Islamic tradition wear Were Tangier is more Miami Beach vibe closer to Spain so more westernized so people seem to dress for the summer there a lot of Lacoste polo Nike there Casablanca is more Newyork on steroids over packed lots of money there if link up whit the right people it never sleeps !!! Bro there influence by everyone far close So Tangier is more fashion boutiques and westernized Casablanca is more faster pace in it’s crazy for it to be in Africa their advanced culture I been living here for 3 weeks now I noticed they don’t hate on you and they love westerners bro but you gotta watch the scams tho

I respect your view. I agree that RL will be around forever and I can also see your point about Rick Owens influence on Jerry. But you are wrong in calling Jerry, Kanye son. You giving him credit he don't deserve. Jerry launched FOG in 2012/13. Virgil knew Jerry and wanted to introduce him to Kanye. Kanye then asked him to create the product for his Yeezus tour. That is the extend of Kanye's involvement with Jerry. Now if you want to call Virgil, Ye son I won't argue you on that.

​@@planetbrooklynacademy How they met is significant but not tangential. Not denying Jerry's hand in the Yeezus merch vision but Wes Lang is the unsung hero of that story in my opinion. Before Yzy Szn 1, Jerry was known for his great use of layering including the zip hem denim, distressed flannels and band tees, if memory serves correct. I attribute some of his early on success to his plethora of celebrity cosigns and connections, but I would argue that the FOG collections 1- 4 were his best and most authentic stuff and legitimately looked good. ESSENTIALS' popularity and success has effectively rendered FOG as "niche luxury" likening the brand to some of the industry's heavy hitters. But in my eyes its ESSENTIALS that has Ye's name all over it and its Jerrys biggest commercial success to date. I will concede that there is a chance, Ye is not the father because i wasn't actually there for the creative process of either projects so this all merely speculative as they could have inspired each other. LMAO

I'm glad someone else sees it too. I've been saying for the longest, Jerry just rips off Rick Owens. Now I know I'm not crazy. Great video. I disagree with Jerry's line being around for the long haul. I personally think his clothing is too gimmicky, for lack of a better word, and with his new super oversized looks make the clothes look like they have no form. Everybody just looks like they're drowning in fabric. I see people getting tired of that overtime cause I don't understand how clothes that oversized can be comfortable. If he does last, then more power to him.

@@vekksblackman thanks fam. Glad you enjoyed the video. I would agree with you on the aspect of Jerry being influenced by Rick Owens. But trust me he will be around for a long time. If you look at the high fashion brands clothing, not the retail stuff, the items they show on the runways, Jerry’s stuff is very much in line with it. Yes the oversized items will get tired but look at what level he’s putting that on. It’s not part of his top tier stuff. It’s for the more mass. He knows what he’s doing. That’s why I say he’ll be around. But I can respect you perspective on how you view his brand. Guess time will tell.

Yes you are right. They are also a brand I don't think gets enough recognition. But they aren't a streetwear brand that was built to become a luxury brand.

I'm glad you asked that question. The thing is he did create a lot of original items. If you look at Salt N Pepa's first album, their outfits were created by Dapper dan. But I guess once he made the Luxury "inspired" pieces the demand became high. When you have people willing to pay big money to have original custom pieces made with their favorite luxury brand logos on it, I guess you roll with whats working. But after they shut him down from using the logos he still continued to design he just wasn't in the public eye as he once was. Then of course urban fashion blew up and other designs then took over the limelight.
