I have an 2003 3500 Cummins that i am having the same issue. I believe it is the temp sensor and I was wondering how easy it is to access where the sensor plugs into wiring harness. You don't have to actually install the sensor to get the AC working but you have to shut the ac off now and again to keep the evaporator from icing up. The Viper part number is 68197590AA and plugs right in. Where is the wiring connection located? Behind the glove box?

I’m havin an issue with my 03 right now and the shop that has it says it’s the evap temp sensor as well so of course I’m havin the same issue with the part not being available anymore. That one you got from Ford, did it end up plugging right in? Or did you have to modify it at all?

That drain plug is cheap oil change places cheap solution to a stripped out drain plug ... on the other side of that is like a wall anchor ... makes changing oil a bitch ... beware where you get your oil changed

Save the engine. you can get several gun barrels from those cams.

Mine failed on a friday evening. So I ordered an engine that night. 12 years later the engine is still sitting in the garage. about to put third belt on car. Engine still runs fine. getting a small leak on valve cover now.

Non vtec are non interference you good man I just got one from a junkyard broken belt. I slapped a head gasket and belt on it and it runs great.

Yeah leak down test at minimum, then pull head, inspect damage. 99% of the time at least two valves will get bent.

Leak down for sure but chances are it's good and the computer stopped disaster. Leak down doesn't take that long anyway

Is that exact engine an interference engine? If it is, I would scope and make sure the valves didn't contact the pistons. If it's not, I throw the belt on it without checking.
