Intermittent Stalling Issue. The Saga Continues...
Hi fellow. Did you know what BCI that battery is? I being looking for some battery like that where the negative post faces the side of the car.
Are all rims and tires the same size?
Yes
Nice. Did you end up getting a GR? I run 27x9x12 M1 Evils, thinking of going 28s. I do not want to get into GR, think I will regret going bigger?
@@BluesLearner_70 I'm still on stock gearing. I don't use the auto shift feature tho. As long as you use eps you'd be fine. I can definitely tell I have big heavy tires but it hasn't been an issue yet.
@TwistedGripGarage mine is a 2023 foot shift
@BluesLearner_70 IRS or SRA? 28s don't clear well on a solid rear axle..
@@TwistedGripGarage SRA, with 2" lift
@@TwistedGripGarage wide 28s don't fit great on the floorboards but skinnys like bkts and aztexs will fit
The fault was a 'dry joint' .
Perfect.!
Been battling a 94 22RE. Engine was replaced not that long ago. Lately when it’s cold and I pull up to a stop, it may just die as if ignition shut off. Replaced signal coil in OEM distributor as that was bad. So with new part, cap, rotor, plugs and wires, no change. Once real warm it might not stall, though a 20 mile commute to work, it had stalled at entry gate, so that much distance should have been good. Not so old as expecting TPS to be sticky, but suppose it could be checked as well. Friend who owns a shop has spent a ton of time trying to track it down, but nothing has cured it so far.
Excelente, I own a 1993 Toyota truck, Maybe that’s the Problem, Gracias,
I had an 84 flair side with the 22r the 4 ×4 in that truck was the real deal and cheap on gas
I'll swap ya for that truck ❤️

Can you put me in contact with Erick? Or point me in the right direction? Interested in Maverick
@@RAYAQUIT sorry, I can't give out Eric's info. He is not looking to sell at this time.
He had it listed on pccar an online auction. I was highest bidder on pccar on this car 3 weeks ago but didn't meet reserve, can you pass my info over to him, maybe we can make a deal happen
@@Fountain35ICBM I'll let him know and if he is interested, I will connect you.
@@TwistedGripGarage Sorry I responded from my cell on the last response that's my other you tube acct. I appreciate it.
Is the irs worth the money over the sra if all im doing is light to moderate trail riding?
@@l337l0gan yes. The IRS is a lot smoother. If you plan on long rides, it makes the difference,
@@TwistedGripGarage thank you. I haven't rode in 15 years and about to jump back into it. There weren't many IRS quads back then 😂
Where did you get your relay? What do you look up?
@@Miles-wy1zr if you look on your relay, it should have some numbers on it. Google those numbers along with the word relay. It should pull it up. Google may even give you an Amazon result. That's where I got mine
That is exactly my problem. 1989 Toyota 4x4 no start / start … what a great idea . Thanks 🙏
Thank you sir for your helpful video, my father just gave me his 1990 4x4, and it was my throttle position sensor, it was off due to a missing screw, 😂👍🏼 today I had to push it on and off the ramp at the dump, solo, thought i was done. Thankx again🫡

So run a wire from positive to a switch than from switch to the small wire on the starter?
Soooo did it all work and it kicked over?
@@jaredgoldthorpe2466 yes. Bike started and ran great. We ended up selling it unfortunately.
Planning to do the same thing. Who or how was this tuned? Do you have more info? Maybe a link to a thread?
My kit came with a chip. I installed the chip and car runs good. I believe I have that in one of the e30 project videos on my channel.
Dood y skip anything in the taire down video ya skip way to much
You bypassed Ignition Switch, could that be issue? No matter, just Clever.
@@kareno8634 I didn't by past the ignition switch. I only bypassed the starter relay. Truck may spin over but won't fire up until the key is turned.
@@TwistedGripGarage That makes better sense. guess i missed main point, Turn Key On. Hours Reading of relays, not finding mine, but did learn how to tell which pins do what no matter where they are. Starter Too, *Thanks Much*
Are you happy with the E36 rack or do you wish you'd gone with the quicker E46/Z3 rack? Thanks.
@@jogb9515 the E36 rack is definitely an upgrade. I have a z3 rack I plan on swapping into this car and I'll use this e36 one in my convertible that's more of a cruiser.
@@TwistedGripGarage Thanks.
I want to see this video shared on the realmechanics youtube channel so they can dissect what's wrong with this advice. I assume they will say something to the effect of 'This "fix" clearly shows that under normal operation the intake has more inflow of air than the computer can account for, creating a lean condition known as a ""vacuum leak"". The $.05 kludge in this video ignores the actual problem of vacuum leaks in the intake and restricts airflow to the idle valve instead. Now the total amount of air intake is reduced which compensates (kind of) for the vacuum leak.. Just fix the vacuum leak & avoid sucking spare change into your engine. Smoke generator kits work flawlessly to find vacuum leaks & are sub-$100 on amazon!
Great video, great help thank you
Is this a automatic I’m having the same issue but I have a 06/83 production 318i but I can’t seem to find a radiator that’s in stock someone please let me know of if they’ve used any other rad for it like a eBay one
Mine is manual. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the later M42 radiator like I did.
I'd say that's fixed!
Thanks for the video. How Long do i need to wait for the rtv to cure before riding? It says 24 hours on the tube. But how long did you let it cure?
I waited the 24 hours.
Thank You Vary Much😁
I DON DRIV CHEBBY GEN MOTAR I DRIV DOGE GOBLESS HOSS AHMEN BARB MAD LAZNA
hey mate im looking to do the same with my car. how did it hold up with the m10 until you swapped it out? any isssues?
It actually worked great. I think I ran the m42 rad for several months before swapping the engine.
Did you ever get the stalling issue fixed?
Sure did. It was a main relay. I have a video of it in the Toyota playlist.
@@TwistedGripGarage I’m gonna go find that and subscribe. I just picked up an 86 pickup doing the same thing.
Awesome! I have a few decent videos on the Toyota I think. Hope to add more content soon. Let me know if I can help you and thanks for the sub!
your video helped me get my top conversion done. 2 remaining issues. The bolt holding the center motor - cannot get that off?? Alan wrench stripped it. any suggestions? it seems to just turn the motor that's in the trunk (i took off the 4 little bots first). don't want to tear it up
I remember fighting that bolt as well but I can't remember what worked in the end. I think you may need to hold the sides of the bolt and the use the Allen to back it out. Like the Allen isn't part of the actual bolt. I cant remember. Sorry.
@@TwistedGripGarage Thank you for responding - i appreciate it alot! breaking out the southern ingenuity...
Hi I'm doing an equal swap. and I wanted to ask you what you did about the temperature sensor. to have the temperature on the speedometer
If you're referring to the temp gauge, there is a black wire on both M42 and M10 harnesses. That wire is the signal wire.
@@TwistedGripGarage I mean if you changed the temperature sensor of the m42 by fitting the m10 one
No need to change. It's a 1 wire type. Just cut and splice. That's what I did.
@@TwistedGripGarage cut and join what?
Cut the wire on the m42 harness. Splice it to the body harness on the M10 car...
I'm working on swapping a Lifan 250cc 4 stroke onto one. It'll have a little less HP than a YZ85, but more torque at lower RPM. It's an ambitious project with a good deal of welding, but it's going to be a blast!
That sounds awesome! Post a video when it's done!
Did you ran a new high pressure fuel line from tank to the filter?
No. The line on mine was already a high pressure line.
Wow looks like so much fun , i will be going this april for the first time , alot of $ spent to get this trip rolling , me and wife will be going together with a small group , once i get settled in with my rig (all the accessories added) , we will be going alot i hope , great video , enjoyed

Nice set up, did something very similar to a 89 325i for 900 dollars. Times have changed now in prices. 👍
They sure have. I'm still pretty cheap into this whole project thankfully.
Where did you source the ITB kit? …is that from an American based distributor?
I'm not 100% sure if DBilas is us or UK based. I was able to scoop my kit up second hand in my local e30 Facebook group.
its a german company
@@TwistedGripGarage hello price ?
Great look and vid. Love the FD!
hey man thats a beautyfull car, how did you manage to keep the stock ecu and is it better with the itbs than stock?
Thanks! The DBilas kit came with a chip for the stock ecu. The ITBs are so much better than stock. It revs so much faster. I also enjoy the pops and bangs from the exhaust. Check out my other e30 videos. I think I have one that goes into the install a little.
