Moonrocks 2022, Memorial Day. One ton tj shakedown. First breakdown.
First drive/trial run of my one ton tj. It did way better than I thought. Follow me for more Jeep updates as I do my 1ton steering next. Please go donate to the man in critical condition from Memorial Day weekend. He doesn’t have insurance and needs all the help he can get. groups/173710886884789/permalink/1057491845173351/

One ton swapped Jeep tj front axle install start to finish.
Переглядів 23 тис.2 роки тому
Sorry this video is so all over the place. It was about 21/2 months in the making and a compilation of what I’ve been doing since. I covered all the basics of Dana 60 tear down to final walk around. I can upload in detail videos If you guys want them but I figured you guys would like just a good overview of how my build is going. Share this with anyone who’s trying to do the same and I can give...
Triangulated 4 link and 14 bolt in Jeep tj
Переглядів 10 тис.2 роки тому
Sorry for the rough editing. I’m a welder not a editor. This is my 2000 tj with a truss, triangulated 4 link and a one ton 14 bolt. All the work was done by me at home and I’m showing you how I did it. All of the parts I’ve used for this rear end build have been from Barnes4wd.com
Jeep TJ one ton 14 bolt
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
Follow my build as I start my journey to a stretched one ton tj off with installing this 14 bolt with 5:38s and a Detroit locker. This is my first video on this channel so I apologize on the roughness. I’ll do a full walk around on my Jeep when the weather is a little better. With plans for a Dana 60 and a front stretch I will have plenty of content to film. The goal for the Jeep is to be at le...
What rear springs are you running?
Curious to know if there’s a lift or just the link kit long arm kit and 1 tons ? My jeeps on a RC 6” and I want it gone
Is the 11.5 inch 14 bolt worth building?
From what I’ve heard they are really strong. It’s just harder to find after market parts for them and the diff hangs a little lower. But if you’ve got one for cheap and could track down some parts in advanced I don’t see why not. All depends on what you’re using it for.
Did you move everything 3.5 " forward on front buckets to thanks
Yeah I cut the coil buckets and shock mount off the frame and moved them 3.5” up too. It was a crazy amount of work. Much easier to just buy coil overs but I was working on a budget.
i’m doing the exact same thing to My 03 already on D44 in rear. long arms yukon lockers front and rear and now i want 1 tons stretched. i’m gonna do ORI struts instead of keeping my 6” lift
that will be sweet! A lot easier to stretch the rear going with struts!
Awesome video I’m getting Dana 60s this weekend and hope to do what you did. Not sure what brackets to order, I’d really like to keep my metalcloak lift so much research to do!
Barnes 4wd had trusses for every year dana 60 that have factory spring and control arm mounts for whatever you need!
Do you have a parts and materials list please
What size coils did u go with? I’m in the process of swapping mine over but it’s got 4.5” lift coils in it now. What rear coil spring kit for the axle did u run?
The rear springs I got given but I think they are a 4.5 as well but the truss gave it about a 1” lift. To the best of my knowledge I think they they are rubicon express but I have no idea.
O damn i love the mower! That's cool as hell
Lookin good man. U still wheeling? Just too busy to film or what? Hope all is well
I feel ya man... it is NOT cheap even doin everything urself. Im doing my TJ too. Little at a time as I get $ for each step. Keep on chippin away at it. Lookin good man
Thank you! I have another video planned but I’ve just been in the process of moving and a career change working 60+ hours a week, the Jeep fell on a back burner but I’m starting to brush the dust off of it.
Nice build! What is the lift your running? Looks taller then a 6" and I can see spacers..
It’s a 6” and the spacers are just the factory tj rubber pads they put in the coil buckets to limit road noise. I’m currently redoing all of the suspension 😅😂
And the trusses gave it about another inch front and rear so it’s hard to judge how tall it is now.
Not sure if you mentioned it in this video or your other videos but I assume you're still running the np231. What ujoints are you running on the drivelines and have you beefed up that transfer case? I have the wide chain and 6 gear planetary upgrade for the 231 but haven't figured out what ujoints to run. Thanks man.
I’m using all spicer u joints. It is a np231 with a rugged ridge sye kit. Spicer is the only thing I’ve ever put on my drivelines and they have yet to fail me.
Thanks for the comment! 👍
@jcfabworks5418 Spicer is what I always try to run, used moog balljoints one time and they wallowed out the hole. Never again. I meant what size ujoints at the tcase yoke and the diff pinion, 1310, 1330, 1350, or 1410? Thanks for the reply 👍
@@SomaCoalition oh gotcha. It’s a factory 1310 at the tcase and 1350 front and rear pinion.
@jcfabworks5418 Sweet, thanks for the reply. I'm dropping the tcase for a different upgrade figured I change the yoke to a 1350 but was worried I'd break something else in the driveline.
May i ask what kind of front axxle is this?
And also what kind of year and model this this axle come off of. Thank you!
It’s a Dana 60 out of an 03 f250!
Your genius bro Go on God bless you
Thank you man! Really appreciate it. I will be posting more soon just been really busy moving and staring a new job working long hours so the Jeep has been on the back burner.
Did you just welt in some sort of bracket on top of the axles?
Yes! I cut all the original brackets off the stock axles and then bought trusses for a Jeep tj that had factory mounting bracket locations to make it as easy as possible. Thanks for the comment!
Nice work man! I'm building my Jeep TJ one ton swap on my channel now and appreciate some of the pointers. It saves me time!! LOL
Not everyone has a million dollars to throw at there jeep so to all the nay sayers zip it the man is working with what he has I’d say good job at it looks decent
How did you do the rear fender flares
So the fenders I already had on it I pie cut and pulled out and welded back together. Then I just raised them up about an inch and then drilled new bolt holes and cut out all the extra fender
i think 40’s with your current suspension would be nice. i always liked having a lower center of gravity
definitely gonna need high steer. barnes sells a kit for $100 for the superdutys. from there i ordered aluminum links to length from wide open design
Yes definitely need to start budgeting for 40s. The high steer I was either going to go with Barnes or artec knuckles and build the links out of some dom! Thank you for the input. I think it helped finalize my decision!
@@jcfabworks5418 no problem jeep looks good i just finished my tons recently too 🤙
Do u just focus on tank suspensions do u do any mentorships?
This suspension setup works for basically any vehicle. I’m assuming you meant Jeep. Yeah I can totally help you out if you have questions for something else. Dm me on IG @jakeh18. I’d be happy to help you with some questions to the best of my knowledge.
@JC FAB WORKS ok bet
What size were your links? Teying to get an idea of how much tube to buy.
I can’t remember exactly. I’ll measure when I’m off work. Do you want to know both front and rear?
@@jcfabworks5418 both if you can. I wanna see what ot would cost me in aluminum or DOM. I appreciate it
@@pebblehoppertj my front lower links are roughly 2’6 and just did a short upper link for a radius arm. The rear lower links are 2’8 and the rear upper links for the triangulated 4 link are roughly 2’11. I pushed my rear axle back and cut out part of the skid plate to get as long of links as possible so unless you do that yours should be shorter. I’d say a minimum of 15 ft. If you’re doing a true 4 link in the front obviously more. Check out ruff stuff. They sell front and rear do it yourself link kits with hymes and all. Makes it a lot easier and you can order dom in custom sizes compared to having to buy a whole 20 foot piece.
@@jcfabworks5418 Thanks dude. I'm gonna a build a 4ink for my LJ. I already have the 14 joints from Summit Machine.
@@pebblehoppertj oh awesome. Super jealous you have an LJ. You might need a little more dom than me actually 😂.
Ni
This video was great your awesome. I just blind bought 1 tons and your video with the all the things just you informed about, the extras with cage, I wasn't to worried about high steering until I saw this. It's a fer sure now. Also nice wat wound! Yikes! Glad your OK. I'm up here in Canada so if I do ever make to your end I'll have to let you know love to wheel a line.
Forsure man! Thank you very much. Yes high steer is a must. I tried to rush to get it done and realized I should have just bit the bullet and bought it. If you’re ever down here let me know!
Good looking work! You defiantly got your “stuff” straight. I could tell that by how clean your shop is. Subscribed
Thank you, I appreciate it! Yeah definitely spent more time working than I did cleaning 😂
Hey bud..at what pinion angle did you weld the truss at? I'm gonna go with a 4 link but my Lj doesn't have an Sye yet.
Depending on the truss you buy it will only truly fit one way. They usually come with about a 20 degree pinion angle but you’re able to wiggle it forward or backwards a degree or 2 depending how tall your lift is.
@@jcfabworks5418 well I bought the artec 14 bolt truss. I think it's a mix of the 8.8. I just need a base to start with since the rear suspension will be adjustable
@@pebblehoppertj about 18-22 degrees is about perfect
Where did you get the 14 bolt axle spacers at?
I just typed 8x6.5 to 8x170 adapter spacers on Amazon.
Your shaking at 40 mph is not death wobble?
It’s not full blown death wobble. I think it’s a combo of the tires not being balanced and the drive lines not being perfectly balanced. I can still drive it and have complete control of it just not too fun to drive after about 40 😂
Perfect timing on your build!
It's looking good man. 👍
Thank you!
Cool 😎
I'd be happy with how this came out too. I almost commented on the axle hitting the fuel tank before watching the full vid🤷 Nice work
Thank you very much! The finished (for now) video is up on my page!
Yo where is the install
Just uploaded! So sorry. Totally forgot to update you guys
Getting ready to put a 14b in the rear of my lj and can’t wait to see how you do it , I can’t seem to find any other build videos on a 14b being put in a tj
I I stalled it! I’ll make a video on it. Sorry kinda forgot to update 😂
Just uploaded
