That's absolutely right... but it's clear that God's people, whether Jew or non-Jew are to be doers of His word. The point is pretty clear that we are deceiving ourselves if we do.

@ Carey, the Jews were in a completely different position with God than the Gentiles . The Jew were bound by a Covenant never given to the Gentiles . Originally the Children of Israel were under the Abrahamic covenant, there was only one condition placed by God on this covenant and that was “ circumcision of the heart”. ( Gen. 17:10) This covenant was broken by the children of Israel for murmuring and rejecting both God and Christ for a Golden Calf at the foot of mt Sinai. Rejecting God and Christ for a golden calf cause their “ circumcised hearts” to become Uncircumcised ( psalm 81, Romans 1, Acts 7) violating the Abrahamic covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant as we learn from the Apostle Paul allowed Abraham to receive salvation and righteousness through Faith through Christ. Without the 613 mosaic/ levitical laws, without the Levite priesthood, without the temple. By rejecting Christ the Children had no choice but to seek their own righteousness through the law. At the foot of mt Sinai God gave Moses a replacement covenant the “Sinai Covenant”( exodus 34:1-10) the Sinai covenant was Salvation through the Law. The Covenant “ Sinaitic” or Sinai” was still in affect during the time of Christ and his disciples we know this because Christ commanded his disciples and followers to obey everything the Pharisees and Sadducee say because they set in Moses seat. ( Matt 23:1-3) .. But , at the Passover meal hours before Christ crucifixion he gave the New covenant New Testament to his disciples and followers returning to a covenant relying upon Faith for salvation and circumcision of the heart. Paid for by his death .

No, it doesn't. But we're celebrating His birth during the Christmas season because it's when those within our culture do.

It's funny that you'd say this - not knowing anything about me. For example, you don't know that I HAVE read the other religious scriptures, listened to the other teachers, heard what other faiths have to say. And NONE of them offer the hope, forgiveness, and personal restoration with God that Jesus did. He is simply the way, the truth, and the life of all humanity. I don't speak this way from ignorance or naive thinking, but from a solid foundation of what is true about all the religions of the world.
